Anecdote time. We had a cookout with long time friends this afternoon. I worked with Matt for 12 years. We meet up 3-4 times a year to catch up. Matt, his wife, son, and both his parents had COVID in mid March. Noone was hospitalized. Matt’s mother had it the worst. She’s about 5 yrs older than I am. She was bed ridden for 3 weeks. Significantly, she is still having trouble breathing. She cannot make it up the stairs without a break to catch her breath. She cannot mow the lawn. X-rays and MRIs cannot pinpoint any specific cause. My buddy and his wife (age Mid 30’s)have still not regained their sense of smell and taste. They are concerned about long term effects.

So, a new “study” purporting to show success with HCQ is now making the rounds on Fox News. Its from HCQTrial.com. Problem is the trial report lists no authors, no affiliations, and its ICANN information is hidden so you cannot determine the sites registry. Someone or some group is putting alot of effort into pushing HCQ with questionable information at best. If you have twitter, the full thread had more information.

I'm not sure what they used for pepper in one of them. I'm guessing habanero or something eqjivalent. No heat at first but it built over time, and eventually gave me a coughing fit. I'm pretty heat tolerant. This stuff had some zip. And some real nice ginger flavors too.

If there was any hope for an offersheet I'd agree. But we all know that isn't happening. Given that, I'll take Vesey over a AAAA player. Strome would have to fall below a whole hos tfo sub NHL players to reach least favorite status. None of these comments are to be construed as me wanting the Sabres to pursue Strome. Frankly, I've watched so little of the league in the last 7 years that I have no idea if he is someone we should be pursuing to improve teh team. My comments were solely in regards to overvaluing our scratch off tickets.

A second round pick has a historical 25% chance of playing 100+ NHL games. If someone is calling a second round pick for a proven, youngish NHL player a steep price, they are over valuing 2nd round picks. It would be a steal.

Dangerfield and Rickles at the top for me. Carlin, Pryor, and Robin Williams round out the GOAT list. Ralphy May is damned funny but I feel the depth of subject matter he works with is lacking. Newhart, it seems like he should be in there somewhere. Comedy has changed over the ages. I have a definite preference for the style, subjects, and delivery of the old timers.

That is exactly the issue with jumbo wings. More cartilage. You have to treat them differently or you end up with a tougher, more gristly wing. And most places aren’t willing to use a slower preparation to get them right.

I think there is still plenty of it, but not in the places us old farts used to find it. More and more I think the international news outlets have the reporting we were used to. And NPR and AP still do a respectable job.

There is a notable permanent Hispanic population in Genesee Co, undoubtedly connected to all of the vegetable farms in the area, and a substantial seasonal migrant worker population. As a result, Genesee (and Orleans) County has some excellent Mexican food spots.
