  1. I don’t hate them. I just want to see them step aside and let the next generation do their thing.
  2. My complaint. Received a call from my son last night right at bed time. Always a hair raiser. He was stranded on side of road. Car died and wouldn’t restart. Got it towed to a local shop. This morning he gets the news. Timing chain broke. He’s just out of the warranty period. New motor is $5k, used is like 3.5k. The stats guys that figure out these warranty periods are good. *****. Frickin kid is all jacked up worrying about paying for it. Mom wants to come to his rescue. So much for my plans....
  3. Those big ticks aren’t deer ticks. My understanding is that deer ticks are the transmitters. And deer ticks are tiny. Maybe that eases your mind a bit.
  4. Nevada and recounts seem to be all that is remaining. Man is this close. I have to say, the only way I could stomach another 4 yrs of Trump is with a D majority in the Senate. With an R majority Senate likely, Biden has to come out on top or the next 4 yrs will be even more insufferable than the first. I'm really disappointed that the Senate didn't change hands. I really wanted to see the GOP punished for falling in line behind Trump. I needed that party get a message sent to them so they never make the mistake again. That clearly didn't happen here.
  5. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other regarding this. Nearly entirely because sports at all levels is chock full of bullies. Lets face it, sports is testosterone on parade. We're watching and cheering for bullies every time we cheer on our favorite team. The difference between this kid and the "significant number of players" you mention is that this entered the public debate and any organization that brings this kid in is going to face scrutiny. Life isn't fair that way. I don't feel conflicted in any way over that. You do your stuff and if the public roars loud enough you pay for the mistake. Any one of us could put ourselves in a social media situation that causes our employer to consider their options. Are we being unfairly singled out? Sure. So what. It is what it is. Having said that, I am all for a more strongly enforced code of conduct and character policy that would almost certainly exclude this kid and others like him from the sport at an advanced level. But I know I'll never see it implemented in any meaningful way. I'm comfortable with how this played out
  6. This won’t end well.....
  7. Pfffft. Finger food.
  8. Well, I think he pretty much had all of them with a reasonable chance of making it, so yeah, this would be one of them. 😀
  9. You explained it perfectly the first time.
  10. Is that Ink’s wife’s next season?
  11. It appears that the guys they signed were specifically targeted. Your list might make a better fantasy roster than KAs list, but I’m betting he’s put alot more effort into the role and style and gameplan of that list than you did with yours. The team roster appears to have a lot of progress in the last month. Lets see if KA knows how to assemble a team before nitpicking.
  12. I read this morning that he once finished 2nd in a Mr. Universe competition. Not the typical boy in the chorus for sure.
  13. RIP Sean Connery. Another favorite from my younger days gone.
  14. I’ll say it. Beating the Pats now isn’t the same as beating them even last season. Given Brady gone and what that team is becoming, it just doesn’t have the same sense of fulfillment.
  15. But you can't even realistically measure the differences for the first 3 (at least) of those 5-7 years. What's the point? Hey, we had a subjectively better pick of teenagers over the last few years than you did and we don't know if it improved us more than it improved you! I don't get the excitement.
  16. I'll feel better with 3 cups and bragging rights re: drafting.
  17. Better is going to be hard to answer. I imagine it will depend on the role and the system they are placed in. These are two very, very different kind of players. Both high end, but with very different attributes. They both seem to thrive on capitalizing on other players efforts, vacuuming up rebounds, taking advantage of openings that others create, etc. But they do it in very different ways. I think ideally they are both high end 2nd line players that don't look at all out of place on the first line. Jeff is a more dynamic player that thrives on speed and chaos, Sam is a more controlled player that uses his linemates better. My gut tells me that in Ralph's system Sam will be the better player because Ralph demands responsible play, but Jeff will be the flashier, more chaos creating player that won't get put into the best situations because I suspect Ralph won't have as much trust in Jeff. I think Skinner would come out on top in a balls out speed system that emphasizes offensive at the sake of defense. I think they are similar but very different, if that makes sense.
  18. Every player needs elite linemates to hit their plateau. It should be self evident that surrounding even Wayne Gretzky with elite players results in more points for Wayne than surrounding him with lesser players.
  19. VO is a much more dangerous shooter by a fair amount. I don’t think he is as complete a player though. VO reminds me alot of Ray Sheppard. Versus the Patrick Sharpe - Sam comparison I’m so fond of. Who was the more valuable player overall? I’m not sure.
  20. I know this was in jest. My opinion is based on the reality that most of the league up against the cap, Buffalo being fairly close to the cap, and the lieklihood that we would ahve to trade a defenseman in this market to get what is needed. I don't think the right scenario exists. So, wer'e done.
  21. I said it a week and a half ago, we’re done. It just has that feel to me.
