  1. I begrudge players who choose greed over victory.
  2. Players who want to win will take slight pay cut to win; I'm not saying a player takes half what he's worth but rather shaves a bit off the AAV to help the team bring in the vital pieces that put them over the line.
  3. Cap wise, their stars all went for money and have handcuffed them for years now
  4. Never 🙂 I’m just terrified of 5x12.5 and us being screwed royally like Toronto
  5. Well if he refuses even 6x10.5 then he’s money hungry and lying about being a team player
  6. Well he shouldn't have that right in my opinion
  7. Well he shouldn't be capable of getting top money and short term. My minimum is 6 years, I won't listen to anything less.
  8. Why can’t he just sign 8x10.5 it’s very fair and makes the fans happy while not handcuffing the team to a myriad of present and future issues.
  9. It's US/Canada; North American. It works in Europe because their entire system of leagues is fundamentally different from NA leagues. The NHL, MLB, NBA, and NFL are rigid top down models. While also creating a minimum parity amongst the teams via caps and luxury taxes depending on the league. Most NA sports are leagues 1st, split into teams akin to how Wendy's or Burger King have franchising. (Hence the reason NA sports teams are typically known as franchises) The Sabres ARE AN NHL team. On the flipside the European leagues are more akin to independent contractors competing to play in a specific "tournament or league" Tottenham Hotspur is in the Premier League. Each "team" operates separate from the league but competes via registration of rosters. Essentially relegation requires a completely different business and league structure. I prefer the NA model frankly for all its warts it keeps teams and regions locked.
  10. Relegation garbage has no place in US sports
  11. Benson seemed to slowly improve as the game went on but his defensive play was his greatest asset tonight. Metsa and Johnson were good D Savoie looked energized and sort of willed 2 goals into existence
  12. 3 years in a row we have had guys we wanted to move up for, failed but got the player anyway.
  13. Sounds a like Terry isn’t some kind of evil racist; maybe an older guy with some racial stereotyping but nothing too egregious. If his most racist statement in nothing but here-say then it should be tossed. This idea of using a black player as a facade isn’t anything special; especially nowadays where SJWs are crucifying companies who don’t literally kiss the feet of minorities.
  14. That problem would effectively be doomsday here. 5 x 11.5 is purely pro-Dahlin and screws us both now and in the future. 8 x 10 was fair but thanks to that idiot in Toronto players are trying to push the envelope. 7/8 x 10.5 are the limit for his value presently. That is what he needs to sign.
  15. Frankly its hard to stomach but I'd still do it
  16. You'll take 7 or 8 years and you'll like it Rasmus. 5 year deals are the work of the devil. Power also better not get any ideas
  17. I'd just make all 1st rounders have a year shorter waiting time.
  18. I'd put him as #2 but as a 3rd pair guy. (He doesn't look great with either Dahlin or Power)
  19. #2 He'll be a solid player and role filler as a defensive power forward that puts up 30 or so points
  20. Torts is a bit of a dinosaur but he does have his devoted fans (player-wise) that always will give me pause about his talent level in the modern NHL. Babcock seems to have all the negatives and few of the positives; most just running on his Cup ring.
  21. I certainly wouldn’t based on the contracts those two received.
  22. Probably true, if he puts up 5+ goals and 10+ points in the tournament and plays great in his preseason appearances I could certainly see him fighting his way to a couple NHL games at least.
  23. I was talking about playoff experience not regular experience
