If it weren’t for the past baggage, Ullmark would be a perfect target but I just can’t see it happening based on how his exit went down.

I’d be fine with 84, it’d be my max though. I understand the desire to lessen the game numbers for health and energy reasons but the league willingly giving up money is a nonstarter. 84 would give us a nice round number for all of the teams’ schedules with 2 vs Other Conference (32 games) 3 vs Other Division (24 games) 4 vs Divisional Opponents (28 games) No to any play in rounds; they only lessen the playoff race tension and add a stupid “pre-set” big game that may not have the slightest connection to the season. I’d shorten the pre-season by 2 games and start in the 2nd week of October.

I actually don’t have any issues in taking Mitchkov if he makes it to 13, sure we’d have to wait a while but we actually have a solid base to build on now and barring Reinbacher being there too, he’d be a perfect guy to just draft and forget. In 3 years or so when he can come over; we’ll have a Top 5 pick talent at 21/22 years old on an ELC just in time for a potential set of Cup runs

GDT - 5/27/23 - Hershey @ Rochester - Game 3 ECF - 7:05 pm

Most aggravating part is the fact Rochester is far more skilled but bad refs effectively destroy that -

If they lose tonight….. no more game threads k. -
I guess Hershey is allowed to blatantly interfere at the net
-
Refs don't seem to care that Hershey is hitting guys from behind 2 goals isn't impossible to get back
-
Tanev for Jokiharju straight up
-
Dylan Cozens, he also scored his 1st career goal in that same game against Washington
-
I like the signing and the fact both tweets used the same picture

I do love Okposo's contract 2.5mil with potential for a 500k bonus if the Sabres win the Cup
-
Quick interesting factoid; which Sabre does Eric Staal share his 1st Sabres goal game with?

Alright, lets go get a Dman and a 1A/B tandem with Levi and go get "Dad" a Cup!

We have zero assurance that Hellebuyck would be a Top 3 goalie in Buffalo due to some underlying analytics and Comrie’s difference in numbers lending credence to that. Additionally I personally don’t believe in paying goalies long and high contracts due to their unpredictable nature. Effectively, I have zero interest in trading Savoie/Kulich and Levi for a goalie who will want nigh Bob money

Just so you understand, my comments weren’t meant to mean Eichel never could be a Top player or lead a team to success but rather he wouldn’t of led us to success specifically; after the first couple years that is. He was a monster/cancer in this locker room but not necessarily a cancer everywhere he could go. Do you understand what I’m trying to say here? It’s kind of hard to describe lol

I wouldn’t exactly agree; both smell terrible.

Well I don’t feel Myers would fix or improve our back end. To me Myers is more of a cap dump with use, akin to Legwand, and not an upgrade. As Callaway said, are you Tim Murray in disguise or something? That equivalence doesn’t work, unless you’re a goalie away from the Cup, you don’t trade your top goalie prospect and either your top or 2nd prospect for a goalie. Not to mention the contract demands will be almost assuredly a major issue. If Bob wins this year, he’ll save his contract’s life but otherwise he’s been greatly overpaid for spotty play in Florida. Plus one of the posters showed an analysis of Hellebuyck and found he might not be great with our system of play. And we aren’t turning into WPG play style.

2 spots won’t be worth eating that contract and playing the chaos giraffe

For more cases you’re right, but I highly doubt Eichel ever grows up in Buffalo the way he has in Vegas. He had far too much of a “hero complex” which was exasperated even more by the 2 GMs who ran the team the majority of his time here. To what degree Eichel and to what degree it was our GMs I have no idea; but he certainly felt, by the end, that he was a shark in a pool of minnows. You see that from his interview after our 1st meetup. I do think nowadays he may very well have regrets about that postgame interview and regrets about some of his behavior in Buffalo. He wasn’t evil, just a cocky young player who was literally given a golden spoon for existing. In Vegas he can still be a superstar and even potentially a leader over time; however he knows for a fact that if he doesn’t push his weight others will call him out and he won’t have the same excuses he had here. If he continues to grow up and mature I could certainly see 12 years from now an older UFA Eichel wanting to come back to Buffalo to mend fences for a year. But who knows.

Kyle Dubas not returning as Toronto Maple Leafs GM

It honestly feels like you just want the Sabres and their fans to wallow in the mud and get ridiculed in perpetuity. Fighting back against Leaf fans isn't in anyway wrong; you seem to feel that because Toronto has a Cup Banners that its enough to protect them from criticism and us from striking back. Let me make it simple, for all the ups and downs in Buffalo as well as our multiplicity of issues; the Leafs still have yet to win a Cup since we came into existence. For the vast majority of time since 1970 until today the Leafs have had countless advantages from their location, monetary backing, and media darling status. Yet even with that among other advantages; the Sabres have had more general success than the Leafs in the same period of time while dealing with shoe string budgets, a crooked owner for a handful of years, and a tank that made itself at home much to our chagrin. If Leaf fans are allowed to target us, then we sure as hell have just as much of a right to slap back because their only leg to stand on is with Cups they won prior to NHL expansion. (Their last Cup was in the 66-67 season, 67-68 was the first year where the NHL had more than 6 teams) -
Sabres Announce that Matthew Savoie has been assigned to Rochester

He was ineligible due to his WHL team being in session still. With the Ice done, he is allowed to play in the AHL or NHL given the opportunity -
Matt Cooke, although at least he did it with an accidently-on purpose manner versus a blatant stomp

A few other factoids Toronto has never won a Cup with more than 6 teams Toronto has never even made a Cup Final with more than 6 teams Toronto has never won more than 2 series in a playoff in their entire franchise history. -

Effectively yes; would you rather owe $55 or $52?
