  1. Not a great night in the standings Florida won Toronto won in OT vs Tampa
  2. To me it honestly depends how far, if we are out at Thanksgiving, are we out. For instance, presently the Sabres are in a 3/4 way tie for a spot but other teams have a game in hand. So at worst, 2/3 pts. If we are within a game’s points; I’m not going to hand wring over being 4th in the division and 9th in the conference. I’ve always seen it as more of a general guide, more than a set in stone 75/80% rule. If we are 10-9-0 with 20 pts at Thanksgiving, it’ll depend on the standings. Most importantly, we cannot have any losing streaks more than 3 games the whole season. If you play .500 hockey most of the time and add a couple 4 game winning streaks to the bunch you’ll be right around 95 pts. The Sabres need to bring it all together by Game 25, but must at very least have 28 pts after 25 games. From there you need to play better but as long as you are “put together” theoretically you should do better if their disjointed time was still a hair over .500.
  3. Great win, the 11-7 worked well in part because it removed some of the pressure off Dahlin and Power who played huge minutes and even EJ who had to step up when Muel went down. They didn’t use either a ton but the safety net was there. Can’t fault Levi on his 4 GA, 3 were from one of the best scorers in the league and the other was a clear breakaway to another top player. He also made some clutch saves. Forwards all looked good, Tuch has had a rough season thus far but he brought it tonight, especially when it mattered the most. Greenway is going to end up the unsung hero by season’s end if he keeps up his work. Sabres match up well with more finesse based teams; they seemingly just have fits against the very physical teams that have speed advantage in addition.
  4. With how Okposo is doing, I’m sort of curious if he’ll retire after hitting game 1000. He can’t possibly be happy with how he’s playing but to reach 1000 games is a serious accomplishment.
  5. Any idea how Markstrom’s doing in CGY. He has 7 saves over expected yet still has bad general stats. Would he be someone we should be targeting ?
  6. Bad game, on to Toronto and hopefully Muel isn't gone long.
  7. Our last home game was also a goat head game and that’s a no-no the other time we did that was last year when we lost to the Flyers 4-0
  8. Thompson has looked good, he does deserve credit. The rest look somewhere between aggravated or sleepwalking but neither are playing hard consistently
  9. Muel didn’t seem to play since the first 10 min mark and Clifford seemed hellbent on putting Dahlin in rough spots.
  10. I’d imagine UPL is going to play hard based on his awkward situation amongst 3 goalies. With Comrie injured, this may be his only real shot at convincing Adams not to give up on him.
  11. His goaltending attempts are the opposite style of Adams but haven’t exactly worked any better. Acquired Matt Murray only to need to dump his contract. Traded a younger RFA goalie who had looked good for 1 year of Cam Talbot Signed a questionable Korpisalo to a long and high cap deal Most signings have been solid outside goalies; locking up good young players as well as solid vets. The whole thing with Pinto is a mess however.
  12. It was an ugly win, but 2 points are 2 points lol
  13. From the replay it looks as if Okposo catches himself mostly and not much actual weight lands on Hart’s leg
  14. Ottawa traded Dadonov in 2020 I believe. VGK tried to trade him to alleviate their cap in 2021 at the deadline by trading him to Anaheim for Ryan Kesler’s LTIR contract. The trade actually all but went through until Dadonov butted in and stated his NTC had Anaheim on it. Vegas claimed to have never received notice of this and thus fought the denial but failed. They then threw the blame to Ottawa for not sending the paperwork during their original trade the year prior. They must of legitimately found negligence on Ottawa’s part and VGK and Anaheim get to feel vindicated
  15. My honest guess is The player at fault was attempting to use his leg to break up any potential opportunity his missed check could create. So he does what many players have in the past and extends himself is far out as he can to create a block. However, rather than hitting Johnson in the chest pad with the side of his skate/leg, his skate blade hits his neck and we have the tragedy we've seen. Effectively this would be manslaughter but frankly I'd rather not open that can of worms in any sport
  16. Oh no, Benson can be IR’d and then sent on a conditioning stint.
  17. They are 12-1-1 now
  18. Great win, aside from the 1st 7 or so minutes they practically held a dagger to their throats. Eric Johnson (Known as the Condor in Colorado) continues to just be a solid presence on the back end. Mitts has truly become someone at this point, hard to argue against it now that he's continued his play from last season again. Tuch seems to be returning Greenway's doggedness is something we truly lacked these last few years and I hope it keeps rubbing off on his teammates. UPL played extremely well akin to his hot month last year where he looked calm and composed. SO!! Dahlin's ENG was ridiculous; I don't think you can put a puck in the net more perfectly than that. Muel took a puck to the head but thankfully it grazed the Sword-B on his shoulder enough to angle and slow the puck a tin bit. Did we piss in the collective referee cereal bowl this year or something; we are being absolutely destroyed by penalties this year. Thank God, our PK is much better this season
  19. May he RIP, I had really hoped he might pull through. Based on this, asking for proof about death is somehow hating? You hadn't even provided a link for your source. Moreover, there were some conflicting reports and a lack of accredited sources involved. Are you related to or personally knew him? If that were the case you would need to preface that.
  20. There is no confirmed links to his death only the event. So change the title
  21. No, he failed to get a better goalie to help Levi. I just have less anger over this past offseason in a vacuum
  22. Personally, this past offseason it’s pretty damn near it. Most goalies even worth a look stayed with their previous teams and acquiring Saros or Hellebuyck was likely ridiculous to even imagine.
  23. I’m not saying we didn’t need a solid back up, I’m trying to ask why our goalies, good or bad get injured constantly. We aren’t cycling goalies for purely skill issues; we seem to end up playing 5 or 6 a year due to injuries and that seems perplexing.
