They started well, have an issue and the entire energy level drops and now they are down 2 again. The idea Cozens had his mojo beat out of him is a concerning but legitimate theory.

Goalie just isn't going to happen barring Nashville deciding to actually deal Saros; other options are akin to shuffling deck chairs at a price. Henrique is a great thought but doesn't fit your desire for a two way center; guy has always been a softer energy/skill player. Monahan is actually very similar to Henrique only he's locked behind the division wall. Clutterbuck, if available would be an interesting pick up, although his Corsi is at EJ's levels. Granted his zone starts are something to gawk at, 13.5% Ozone vs 86.5% Dzone. Plus I doubt Lou would move him barring absurdity. He is, after all, the guy who brought Matt Martin to Toronto and to the Isles again when he moved there.

Glad to see there was at least some fight in them by the end but it wasn’t anywhere near enough. I really am at a loss as to what we can possibly do to actually get somewhere. You trade Cozens for McDavid… Cozens bounces back immediately and McDavid breaks his leg and pulls his Achilles twice in his remaining contract years. Honestly that is how it feels. Kind of just feeling like giving up, honestly I have never seen a team have so many players magically fall off a cliff for inexplicable reasons. What in the world has happened to Cozens? His bubble hurt his ability to stick handle but now it seems his motor is on idle. What happened to cobra Muel? He’s literally withered away. Aside from Dahlin and Benson the team is flatter than a pancake. Granato is a great guy but we may need to bring in another coach if we hope to find any path to the playoffs yet again.

Robert Esche has lost it! I miss those days of greatness, vets playing at their peak, rookies immediately fitting in and an uncanny ability to win.

Presently too many teams are in the race and the ones not in the race aren't holding goalies of value.

Again, we can buy things but if there's no store to buy from its a mute point in terms of goalies.

Frankly I have no idea how to interpret this game. UPL had a rough night but the D did him little in terms of favors The team came back from down 3-0 to make it 3-3 Then blew the tie back to 6-3 Score a goal late to make it 6-4 and pour on the pressure. One could easily argue the Sabres were the better team yet we lost. A true enigma, onto the next one.

Guys, there are zero #1 goalies available at this time. The only team willing to trade would be a division rival in MTL and teams with the same or worse goaltending.
