  1. 3 years in a row we have had guys we wanted to move up for, failed but got the player anyway.
  2. Sounds a like Terry isn’t some kind of evil racist; maybe an older guy with some racial stereotyping but nothing too egregious. If his most racist statement in nothing but here-say then it should be tossed. This idea of using a black player as a facade isn’t anything special; especially nowadays where SJWs are crucifying companies who don’t literally kiss the feet of minorities.
  3. That problem would effectively be doomsday here. 5 x 11.5 is purely pro-Dahlin and screws us both now and in the future. 8 x 10 was fair but thanks to that idiot in Toronto players are trying to push the envelope. 7/8 x 10.5 are the limit for his value presently. That is what he needs to sign.
  4. Frankly its hard to stomach but I'd still do it
  5. You'll take 7 or 8 years and you'll like it Rasmus. 5 year deals are the work of the devil. Power also better not get any ideas
  6. I'd just make all 1st rounders have a year shorter waiting time.
  7. I'd put him as #2 but as a 3rd pair guy. (He doesn't look great with either Dahlin or Power)
  8. #2 He'll be a solid player and role filler as a defensive power forward that puts up 30 or so points
  9. Torts is a bit of a dinosaur but he does have his devoted fans (player-wise) that always will give me pause about his talent level in the modern NHL. Babcock seems to have all the negatives and few of the positives; most just running on his Cup ring.
  10. I certainly wouldn’t based on the contracts those two received.
  11. Probably true, if he puts up 5+ goals and 10+ points in the tournament and plays great in his preseason appearances I could certainly see him fighting his way to a couple NHL games at least.
  12. I was talking about playoff experience not regular experience
  13. They also finally made the logo the circle instead of having a weird circle around the logo
  14. I think the issue with what you are saying is the fact there isn’t a legitimate option the Sabres can take that makes sense at this present time. The players and fans want a Cup team but I honestly don’t see us being quite ready to make a full playoff run. Presently the only way we can get a playoff caliber goaltender is via prospects like Levi or trading a mountain to get a rental in Helle. There aren’t a multitude of goalies just out there we could bring in to get to the playoffs that are reasonably priced. You don’t trade multiple premium assets for a rental goalie no matter how good they might be unless you feel fully confident that said goalie makes you a significant Cup contender. Presently I’d be on the fence in trading for prime Hasek or Roy due to the teams inexperienced roster. The thing is, there are no Haseks or Roys just laying around; even at Helle’s peak level we’d still be a mere playoff berth team that might win a round. I’m not trading huge assets to get 1.5 playoff rounds for 1 year
  15. Doesn't exactly scare me, he still had a +20 +/- so it's not as if he was bad. Just didn't quite cash in enough.
  16. Always have been, WPG is likely going to end up folding at the deadline or letting him walk at this rate. Plus I frankly have zero interest in signing him at 8x9mil
  17. That's why I think it'd be around 8.5 to 9 at most; he'll use his draft status as leverage.
  18. Probably looking at 8.5 to 9.5 for 8 years now.
  19. Honestly, I see him having ups and downs however not intense downs. For example he had a couple rougher games in his stint last year so I’d expect much of the same this time around, only stretched over 45 games or so. He’ll be solid most nights, mediocre occasionally and a brick wall occasionally.
  20. He will score Buffalo’s 1st playoff goal since Brad Boyes. End of story, other than that he’ll be his usual 20-25 pt man who works his ass off every night.
  21. Peterka still strikes me as a 40-50pt 2nd/3rd line tweener who plays a solid overall game and then gains a gear in the playoffs. Since that is literally what he did in Rochester.
  22. To me he’ll likely stay a quiet enigma who has games all over the spectrum and if he stays healthy will get between 45-60 pts. Mind you it will primarily be assists so something akin to 14g 39a for 53pts. Where he will show up is in big moments near season’s end and potentially in the playoffs as well.
  23. He is literally up a creek without a paddle, also his boat is leaking. Comrie, in order to stay in Buffalo, will have to play out of his mind in the preseason in order to keep himself from the waiver wire. He’s not only playing against UPL as a player but his status as a team prospect in addition. UPL has the tie breaker and likely the mulligan on his side.
  24. To be honest I agree with you here; my guess was this was a player complaint, since I doubt the Pegulas want to potentially lose a portion of sales. However Terry is a Sabres fan at heart and is willing to eat a minor loss in potential revenue if it helps the team improve at home and thus create further revenue in the future
