I have to agree with you, MacLean did him dirty; at very least stand up for your co-host of 20+ years and let him retire with grace a bit later.

Bush can't play LHD more than likely which would of hurt his value. -

I’m still in the camp that they traded Bush so he could play more and be nice to the guy. It weakens our depth a bit but certainly gives us a good appearance with potential future signees that we do at least try to keep players happy -
There’s more players who remember RJs calls for them than most announcers. He had a true gift at making the memorable even more poignant and the mundane entertaining. I seriously feel bad for Dunleavy since no matter how good of a PbP guy, he’s following a literal man amongst boys in PbP

It doesn’t work that way though, you can’t hold onto 10 NHL defenseman and tell 2/3 of them they’ll be on a bus in the AHL unless we lose 2+ defenseman at the same time. They’ll want to go elsewhere. There’s a reason most teams will have some issues if they lose multiple defenseman, it’s not exactly an avoidable situation due to roster sizes. This trade is more about helping Bush find playing time versus getting rid of him. -
Well, I was definitely undershooting the seriousness then

I guess it was a good trade in the end even though Hodgson flamed out due to a back condition. Sulzer also almost gave us a hat trick against Colorado if it weren’t for Foligno’s butt lol

Sabres Trade Ilya Lyubushkin to Anaheim for a 2025 4th Round Pick

Now we have: Muel - Dahlin Power - Clifton Stillman - E. Johnson Bryson - Jokiharju (AHL) Clague - (AHL) R. Johnson Waive Bryson to Rochester Clague & Bryson would honestly be solid AHL callups; both can play both sides and have NHL experience. -

Bryson is likely waiver bait -

I’ll miss Bush, but he was sort of in an awkward position being a RHD without a spot. He was our 5th RHD. -
According to Pierre Lebrun, Sabres have interest in Brett Pesce.
thewookie1 replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
There were rumors Pesce nixed a potential trade to Buffalo prior to the draft so barring a change of heart and Adams wanting to get him even after his signings it won't happen. -
Hopefully this will give everyone, players, coaches, fans that one more reason to work just a bit harder. But God I'll miss RJ, he spent enough time with all of us Sabres fans to feel like at least a good friend. Now to distract myself....

RIP to the voice in my head when I think hockey highlights. I had really hoped the Sabres would get to the playoffs this year and give him a chance to announce another playoff game but I guess he’ll watch from heaven with Ted Darling

I’ll always leave a chance for Patrick Kane playing here at a vet minimum if we end up hitting an injury bug in Jan/Feb He’s no where near the player he once was and plays little defense but it still would be kinda cool from a fan standpoint to see the hometown superstar kid play a short time for his hometown. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to get him to replace anyone if you get the idea

Quite the way with words you got there

Peterka definitely strikes me as the overly talented 3rd line winger whom only great teams have. A player who could be a 2nd liner many places but due to depth is on the 3rd line eating lesser competition for breakfast. Simultaneously however Peterka may also be end up like Chris Kunitz who was a 2/3W who played on the top line due to his great chemistry with Crosby. (Peterka to Quinn in this case)

But that isn't how you manage assets well You don't let young players walk in order to keep older players unless you are a Cup contender. If its close, I can't with good conscience just play "who cares" for that situation.
-
I would presume that UPL's waiver status has a lot to do with the lack of additional competition. Effectively its Levi's job to lose and as long as UPL beats out Comrie we'll have no roster problems. Where issues arise is if Comrie plays better than UPL since we can't conceivably waive UPL without a high likelihood of losing him.

1. Toronto 2. Boston 3. Philly Those three are my most hated teams to be honest and I wouldn’t be able to give my all for any of them as such. 4. Montreal (but only if I have multiple years on my deal) Would waive if it’s a rental situation just to play for the storied franchise. Can’t speak French. 5. Winnipeg - so very very cold, would waive as a rental 6. Arizona - it’s just a convoluted mess 7. Ottawa - I’d want to see their new ownership in action before playing for them 8. Seattle - the state is a mess 9. Vegas - would waive for rental but they treat players like disposable tools 10. Columbus - purely due to Babcock; otherwise would be fine HFBoards had a similar thread so I'll just take my answer from there.

Sure if they take back Comrie

The issue effectively comes down to you will 99% lose that trade. You never see goalies traded for top tier prospects.
