  1. I’d imagine UPL is going to play hard based on his awkward situation amongst 3 goalies. With Comrie injured, this may be his only real shot at convincing Adams not to give up on him.
  2. His goaltending attempts are the opposite style of Adams but haven’t exactly worked any better. Acquired Matt Murray only to need to dump his contract. Traded a younger RFA goalie who had looked good for 1 year of Cam Talbot Signed a questionable Korpisalo to a long and high cap deal Most signings have been solid outside goalies; locking up good young players as well as solid vets. The whole thing with Pinto is a mess however.
  3. It was an ugly win, but 2 points are 2 points lol
  4. From the replay it looks as if Okposo catches himself mostly and not much actual weight lands on Hart’s leg
  5. Ottawa traded Dadonov in 2020 I believe. VGK tried to trade him to alleviate their cap in 2021 at the deadline by trading him to Anaheim for Ryan Kesler’s LTIR contract. The trade actually all but went through until Dadonov butted in and stated his NTC had Anaheim on it. Vegas claimed to have never received notice of this and thus fought the denial but failed. They then threw the blame to Ottawa for not sending the paperwork during their original trade the year prior. They must of legitimately found negligence on Ottawa’s part and VGK and Anaheim get to feel vindicated
  6. My honest guess is The player at fault was attempting to use his leg to break up any potential opportunity his missed check could create. So he does what many players have in the past and extends himself is far out as he can to create a block. However, rather than hitting Johnson in the chest pad with the side of his skate/leg, his skate blade hits his neck and we have the tragedy we've seen. Effectively this would be manslaughter but frankly I'd rather not open that can of worms in any sport
  7. Oh no, Benson can be IR’d and then sent on a conditioning stint.
  8. They are 12-1-1 now
  9. Great win, aside from the 1st 7 or so minutes they practically held a dagger to their throats. Eric Johnson (Known as the Condor in Colorado) continues to just be a solid presence on the back end. Mitts has truly become someone at this point, hard to argue against it now that he's continued his play from last season again. Tuch seems to be returning Greenway's doggedness is something we truly lacked these last few years and I hope it keeps rubbing off on his teammates. UPL played extremely well akin to his hot month last year where he looked calm and composed. SO!! Dahlin's ENG was ridiculous; I don't think you can put a puck in the net more perfectly than that. Muel took a puck to the head but thankfully it grazed the Sword-B on his shoulder enough to angle and slow the puck a tin bit. Did we piss in the collective referee cereal bowl this year or something; we are being absolutely destroyed by penalties this year. Thank God, our PK is much better this season
  10. May he RIP, I had really hoped he might pull through. Based on this, asking for proof about death is somehow hating? You hadn't even provided a link for your source. Moreover, there were some conflicting reports and a lack of accredited sources involved. Are you related to or personally knew him? If that were the case you would need to preface that.
  11. There is no confirmed links to his death only the event. So change the title
  12. No, he failed to get a better goalie to help Levi. I just have less anger over this past offseason in a vacuum
  13. Personally, this past offseason it’s pretty damn near it. Most goalies even worth a look stayed with their previous teams and acquiring Saros or Hellebuyck was likely ridiculous to even imagine.
  14. I’m not saying we didn’t need a solid back up, I’m trying to ask why our goalies, good or bad get injured constantly. We aren’t cycling goalies for purely skill issues; we seem to end up playing 5 or 6 a year due to injuries and that seems perplexing.
  15. As I have said and will continue saying, losing Ullmark was due to his ask in comparison to his availability not his talent. His max games started until going to Boston was a measly 32 games. He was injured every season he played with us for at least a month worth of time. He put up great stats but never stayed healthy enough to be a starter. Few GMs would offer 5/6x 6mil for a goalie you would project playing less than half the starts due to injuries. In Boston he’s been unusually healthy; finding it out the why is vital. Was he just unlucky here? Is there something to do with the goalie coach and his training regiment? Is it merely less game wear and tear? These are the better questions. What exactly seems to be causing us to have goalies drop like flies every year?
  16. I’d also guess the Sabres are delaying as much as possible to get a gauge on the new WHL coach.
  17. That’s a tad overblown. Essentially if you only have so much time to teach and train; you are forced to budget that time accordingly. Their offensive play was likely greatly improved by the coaching focus. At some point it likely became more beneficial to keep going down that path and just try and out score your problems than attempting anything major mid season. This year they already have a solid grasp on the offense and thus is likely less focused on. The defense now takes center stage on the curriculum. Since most of the team is the same; many of the lessons from last year can be built directly off of. In the end my guess is by the time they had solidified a great offensive attack, the step back required to help the defensive play would have imploded the season. So they tweaked things and patched stuff as best they could and very nearly out scored their issues into the playoffs.
  18. I can’t disagree with you even though I want to. I’m personally in that same mindset as Adams may very well be. I deep down know we’ll have to move someone eventually but don’t want to be hurt again. Plus I feel a connection with the roster and its prospects since I’ve followed from the draft on.
  19. Game should of never got to that point yet the refs honestly tried to screw them. Great win
  20. Oh I know we'll need to make a trade; its more of a matter of getting something of equal value that concerns me.
  21. Then what though; I don't want to trade everything for a single shot at the playoffs
  22. I just don't want to trade a prospect for a guy; have our guy just not pan out and the prospect go win a Stanley Cup so we can have another dunce cap on our city.
  23. Honestly I'm starting to suspect conspiracy at this point. Arizona trades Chychrun for a lesser return to Ottawa while insisting on our prospects and refusing equivalent or better value from our offer. We've had multiple players on our radar and yet not one ends up here. It honestly feels like teams are outright refusing to trade with us barring us trading them blue-chip prospects regardless if we offer equal or better value. I know some of you would be perfectly fine with trading multiple prospects for any new body regardless of contract situation but that's extremely short sighted to trade a player like Savoie+ for Hanifin and then follow that up with an extension at a minimum of 6x7mil At this point I'm at a loss on what we can do if we are being more or less blackballed. We end up being screwed either way because we either greatly overpay for a guy using superior potential for a lesser but realized player. Or just keep hoping the prospects grow up over time. The issue being time requirements. I'm personally terrified of trading young guys because I fear them just exploding on a new team and making us look bad yet again.
