  1. Personally I'm just trying to figure out how to fit Lindholm into the cap beyond this season if we were to splurge on him. With the 24-25 cap looking to hit about 87.65mil We'd enter the offseason with 25mil in cap space with Skinner (3x9mil) - Thompson (6x7.142mil) - Tuch (2x4.75) Quinn (1x863k) - Cozens (6x7.1mil) - Peterka (1x855k) Benson (2x950k) - XXXX - XXXX XXXX - XXXX - Greenway (1x3mil) R. Johnson (1x925k) - Dahlin (8x11mil) Power (7x8.35mil) - XXXX Samuelsson (6x4.285mil) - Clifton (2x3.33mil) XXXX Levi (1x925k) Notable RFAs Mittelstadt Luukkonen Jokiharju Krebs There's a crunch here that can be handled but a far worse one in 25-26 where Quinn, Peterka, Levi, and Johnson all come due with only Greenway coming off the books. Arguably, in order to make some degree of change to the overall roster we'd have to let most if not all of our RFAs leave via trade. Problem being Mitts has finally become a player worth keeping around and Jokiharju has been solid as of now. UPL wouldn't be a cap burden as a backup allowing Levi to hide in Rochester another year and further hone his craft. Krebs is likely a casualty of his contract demands far overreaching his role more than likely.
  2. At this point, is there anything we actually can do without having heavily overpay due to desperation besides just giving up? Everyone wants our prospects not our picks; but are asking for Top 6 level guys for middling talent in their 30s. How do you break that?
  3. No, the 2nd time we were on the PP
  4. So what, sit good players for worse players?
  5. Cozens is more snake bitten than a man on snake island.
  6. We are honestly just cursed, nothing works out for us. When we get chances they magically hit anything but pay dirt
  7. Any interest in Broberg from Edmonton?
  8. Tage is back, Dahlin is playing but has lingering issues As much as we rag on the team, I do honestly feel Dahlin, Tage, and Cozens are honest when they say they want to go to the playoffs. I fear Tage is coming back a tad early due to Tuch’s injury but I certainly respect his desire.
  9. There had been mentions of Pegula overruling Botts with both Eichel and Skinner since Botts wanted to give short term piecemeal contracts to top players. KA may have been hired to be a “Yes Man” but he’s been our best GM out of the three oddly enough. Plus I actually side with the Pegulas in essence over ridding the franchise of bloat when COViD shut everything down. I wouldn’t have fired Taylor but streamlining the staff made sense and Botts outright refusing to obey his boss was legitimate means for dismissal. Of our GMs we have had Murray - overly aggressive, lacked interpersonal skills for the team’s roster, wore blinders in terms of players he wanted to acquire Botts - overly cautious with locking in best players, baffling trade valuations Adams - overly cautious as a whole, likely overly receptive to ownership’s ideas Ironically enough in someways, if you change their order, it likely works out better Adams is very good at asset compiling as well as finding players who are a good locker room presence Murray was very deliberate but lacked a strong enough personality core to absorb the personalities he brought in Botts was trained under a maintain playoff viability situation and thus worked trades akin to a common playoff contender on the back end of their prime.
  10. I too wish physical players that actually have an ability to play well dropped off trees. That’s my one gripe with this
  11. Because that's his value; he was literally dumped for salary reasons by Florida
  12. Trade a 4th that can become a 3rd for Duclair. Move Benson into Tuch's role for the puck hounding and Duclair into Benson's spot Peterka - Cozens - Duclair SPEED KILLS
  13. Probably would of done more harm than good to be honest, not only to the roster but to Benson, himself.
  14. Trade Krebs, Östlund and our 2nd for Boone Jenner
  15. Supposedly we did make attempts 2/3 years ago when his previous contract ended.
  16. Not to that degree anymore barring your literally winning the Cup Most high-end prospects are either in the NHL, being traded by teams on Cup runs or trapped in Jrs.
  17. In this case because our top players were out there almost 3 minutes at that point. Cozens was gassed by the last rush.
  18. That's insane, sorry but no goalie is worth 4 1sts
  19. Nashville has already turned down multiple offers and I'm not going to offer 4 1sts
  20. Cozens, the guy isn't failing for a lack of effort tonight for sure. Ryan Johnson is starting to show his inexperience, go get a solid vet dman and send him back to Rochester for a bit. Can we get a soul to replace Jost? He sort of just exists except in scrums.
  21. Is it just me or is the puck bouncing like crazy in our zone?
  22. I'd guess there would be a number of teams looking to get Dahlin, he's a Top defenseman playing in the league.
  23. They started well, have an issue and the entire energy level drops and now they are down 2 again. The idea Cozens had his mojo beat out of him is a concerning but legitimate theory.
  24. Goalie just isn't going to happen barring Nashville deciding to actually deal Saros; other options are akin to shuffling deck chairs at a price. Henrique is a great thought but doesn't fit your desire for a two way center; guy has always been a softer energy/skill player. Monahan is actually very similar to Henrique only he's locked behind the division wall. Clutterbuck, if available would be an interesting pick up, although his Corsi is at EJ's levels. Granted his zone starts are something to gawk at, 13.5% Ozone vs 86.5% Dzone. Plus I doubt Lou would move him barring absurdity. He is, after all, the guy who brought Matt Martin to Toronto and to the Isles again when he moved there.
