Begs to question what the hell is going to happen around the league. How in god's name do they plan to fix our team....
-
Here's my proposals https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1908663
-
Technically we take on 7 mil because we send back 7 mil Slight change, MAF has 2mil retained
-
I came up with Hutton, Johansson our 2020 2nd and 2021 4th for MAF and Stastny Hell, add the Risto + a little for Letang and while we will have got older we would certainly have a new bloc of players with a large amount of experience and it would certainly change how the Sabres look.
-
At those numbers I'd do a 5 year deal. Maybe 6x7mil would work as well. Reinhart is a great player, just not 9mil great. (Neither is Skinner for that matter)
-
He’s not a 3LW unless he’s in a completely winger inundated team.
-
Technically he’s a 2/3 LW Olofsson is a 1/2 LW Kahun is a 2/3 RW/LW/C Kahun could be a C but I certainly wouldn’t put him there intentionally aside from injury coverage.
-
He’s 33 at 7.5mil for 2 years Risto is at about 2 mil cheaper for the same 2 years. This type of move would immediately help a Dahlin as it would give him a former 1D to learn from. It’s the same rationale as going after Pietrangelo or Keith but on a much shorter term. Yes he has injury concerns but I don’t care at this point; our defense is made up of scraps from other teams, mediocre disappointments and youngsters with potential. Even if he just teaches stuff to Dahlin and Jokiharju we are better for it. If he’s healthy we’d have a legitimate top pairing and with a 2C we’d have a legit shot at being a playoff team. That was my rationale behind the idea. The only reason I thought of it was because some Pens fans were saying Rutherford would likely screw up and trade Letang for a Ristolainen. (I think HFBOARDS and CapFriendly are far too negative towards Risto regardless.)
-
Risto for Letang anyone?
-
No, Reinhart is as good as Ehlers thus making moving down and the extra 2nd make 0 sense
-
I'm thinking Alright here's what I came up with for now. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1895879

The playoffs require you to at least have some players who will run others through walls when all else collapses.
-
I'm meaning physically hard to play against. Copp and Cozens would be the only guys willing to hit anyone. Ok, using your idea I've formed a team but am at a loss at what else to do. Not to mention what the heck is Larsson going to want for his contract?
-
Honestly, if you swapped Ehlers and Copp's position I'd be fine with it. (If Ehlers were a Center and Copp was a Winger) But to me a true 2C is far more worthy of throwing around a 1st than a high tier winger. Skilled yes, but softer than a baby's bottom.
-
Your trade proposal is too rich for my taste. Just saying though if we got Ehlers I might go Skinner-Eichel-Ehlers Olofsson-2C-Reinhart Johansson-Cozens-RW3 Asplund-Lazar-Okposo Thompson is a tad troublesome though due to his inexperience and I really don’t want him with Cozens.
-
For no reason I feel like Risto and a 21 2nd for Ehlers will happen
-
I’d guess they still are.
-
That would be a rather sad attempt to fix our team.
-
I'm not interested in trading Pekar for the 3rd back but the idea is good. We need Pekar's future pest on this team since we completely lack his type of player. 0 interest in Dylan Strome; he's too slow and doesn't do much of anything for long stretches. Plus he's rarely good when not with Kane and/or Debrincat I'm not keen on the Tampa trade barring some amount of pick protection.
-
Anything pop up as of late; it is understandable though if you are still busy getting into the school swing of things.
-
My guess would be if Toronto can’t make room and St. Louis tells him to leave Buffalo would be in the running due to location. Besides that I’d be unsure what he’d be drawn here by aside Eichel and Dahlin
-
I thought he left over the Sabres awfulness

I really only see this causing more strife as truly racist people will gain fuel to their fires. What happened was wrong but rioting only opens up the doors for opportunists and further hatred to form. Racism is a horrible thing but it stems from a combination of fear, ignorance, and some genuine reasons. You can’t end it via fighting because it will only further entrench the motivations of both sides. Cops are placed in a serious predicament every time they are sent on a call; they have to make split second decisions that could mean life or death for themselves or others. Even the most non-racist person would have to admit that being in an inner-city region isn’t exactly a safe place to go as a cop or anyone for that matter. African Americans are more likely to be in gangs thus cops are going to unconsciously be more wary of unusual or seemingly threatening behaviors. That all being said shooting a man in the back 7 times at point blank range is absurd. Shoot his leg or something non lethal then pull him out of the vehicle. The saddest part is I have no clue how to solve racism. It’s a vicious cycle with no straight forward solution. For instance, if African Americans stopped joining gangs and selling drugs and focused on schooling they would be far better off. Problem is that to some degree, gang activity stems from poverty and many city schools are inferior all around. To fix that we would need money to improve everything however we cannot exactly force them to use their money in a way more beneficial to them in the long term. Not to mention general corruption and legitimately racist people involved in government. Which leads to further dangerous conditions, dropping home values and continued crime escalation thus bringing in more cops in an effort to keep people safe. Which then leads to new problems which eventually leads us back to them joining gangs for a familial entity and protection.

It’s NHL or Juniors for Cozens barring the WHL cancelling their season
