I’m expecting the following City and County fighting for a few months City offers Pegula the stadium and the surrounding land for 35mil with pre-agreed state/county funding for the arena’s renovations. City clears a large part of their debt County “liberates” itself from stadium upkeep even though that’s only directly Pegula gains direct control over both of his teams’ places of residence and further govt support.

Injury updates Norris and Power, April 15, 2025

Let me guess, Power will be out a while so Adams in his "infinite wisdom" will sign Byram to some dumb long deal and when we miss again he'll blame it on Power's injury -

Joy, that could mean Power might not be ready for camp in the Fall as well as won't have any chance to work out over the summer. -
How would you retool this team this summer?

Goals for the defense this offseason 1) Acquire a solid veteran defenseman to pair with Power. 2) A competent defenseman to play with Dahlin so he doesn’t have to drag his partner to relevance 60min a game. 3) Barring some sort of coming to God moment for Muel; deal him away. 4) Depending on cap space, deal Clifton to clear his 3.3mil contract. Especially if our RHDs are Dahlin, Vet D guy, Bernard-Docker. He’s not a player who can play well on his off-side. -
I have zero interest in Rempe because I honestly don't see him being anything more than a muscle brain who has more in common with John Scott than Tom Wilson. I have zero need to win any fights ever, we need more guys willing to answer the call but I don't need any sort of specialist. I want to win games, not fights, and fighting specialists tend to be a complete waste of cap, roster and ice time.

Huge no to most of this You will burn whatever remaining bridges we have if we were to trade 2 guys we just extended prior to the deadline. -

Small edit, with that retention Then trade Lafferty, Byram and Peterka to CGY for Weegar and their 2026 2nd and 3rd We slide just under the cap at $147,684 with the following roster FORWARDS Benson - Thompson - Marner Kulich - Norris - Tuch Zucker - McLeod (4x4.5mil) - Greenway Malenstyn - Krebs - Hathaway (2x1.2mil after retention) DEFENSE Dahlin - Bernard-Docker Power - Weegar Zamula - Ryan Johnson (2x1.1mil) GOALIES Demko Reimer (1x1mil) PRESS BOX Bryson Kozak (2x1mil) Rousek (2x1mil) -

I've tried similar things. Gave Marner 7x14mil with 2.5mil deferred every year to be paid in years 8 to 14. Cap hit ended up at $13,228,349 From there I went UPL + Muel to PHI for Zamula, Hathaway and CBJ's 2nd Quinn to VAN for Demko Clifton to ANA for Detroit's 4th Signed most lesser RFA + Levi near 2x1mil to 1.5mil each Brought back Reimer at 1x1mil Gave Tuch 5x7.75 as an extension The issue is how does one trade Byram and Peterka and get a defensive LHD within the remain 4.2mil in cap I have. I can dump Lafferty and recoup 1mil since his replacement needs 1 mil. But I'm still left cap strapped -

He's from Toronto so the idea would be he wants to stay home but Toronto won't give him the money so he stays close to home. -

I'd say Dahlin isn't perfect as the primary QB He's a wizard with the puck and a high level thinker but seems to lack a certain artistic view. I can't deny I agree with you. Eichel definitely had an artistic flare to playmaking that Dahlin doesn't. Dahlin can match Eichel for effective passing and the like but lacks that one ingredient, that cherry on the sundae type, of innovativeness when on the PP. Dahlin does however have to deal with higher risk being a the point and the wall opposite of Tage tending to overplay the puck more often than not.
