  1. I have zero interest in Rempe because I honestly don't see him being anything more than a muscle brain who has more in common with John Scott than Tom Wilson. I have zero need to win any fights ever, we need more guys willing to answer the call but I don't need any sort of specialist. I want to win games, not fights, and fighting specialists tend to be a complete waste of cap, roster and ice time.
  2. Quinn and Tuch have been their best shooters this year Tage hasn't done well in shootouts this season Dahlin was probably completely gassed
  3. Essentially Dahlin is both the shooter and passer without Thompson and we just saw how troublesome that is
  4. God, without Thompson no one wants to shoot, thankfully Peterka scored at the end
  5. Complete BS, you can’t hit a guy before he even touches the puck. At minimum that’s interference Yes they can, you can call a minor
  6. That is asinine no call on him getting interfered with
  7. Huge no to most of this You will burn whatever remaining bridges we have if we were to trade 2 guys we just extended prior to the deadline.
  8. Small edit, with that retention Then trade Lafferty, Byram and Peterka to CGY for Weegar and their 2026 2nd and 3rd We slide just under the cap at $147,684 with the following roster FORWARDS Benson - Thompson - Marner Kulich - Norris - Tuch Zucker - McLeod (4x4.5mil) - Greenway Malenstyn - Krebs - Hathaway (2x1.2mil after retention) DEFENSE Dahlin - Bernard-Docker Power - Weegar Zamula - Ryan Johnson (2x1.1mil) GOALIES Demko Reimer (1x1mil) PRESS BOX Bryson Kozak (2x1mil) Rousek (2x1mil)
  9. I've tried similar things. Gave Marner 7x14mil with 2.5mil deferred every year to be paid in years 8 to 14. Cap hit ended up at $13,228,349 From there I went UPL + Muel to PHI for Zamula, Hathaway and CBJ's 2nd Quinn to VAN for Demko Clifton to ANA for Detroit's 4th Signed most lesser RFA + Levi near 2x1mil to 1.5mil each Brought back Reimer at 1x1mil Gave Tuch 5x7.75 as an extension The issue is how does one trade Byram and Peterka and get a defensive LHD within the remain 4.2mil in cap I have. I can dump Lafferty and recoup 1mil since his replacement needs 1 mil. But I'm still left cap strapped
  10. He's from Toronto so the idea would be he wants to stay home but Toronto won't give him the money so he stays close to home.
  11. I will admit I loved Dahlin's reaction seeing as the game was over. The mock clapping, "Great job guys" to the refs made me feel worlds better after the game ended lol
  12. I'd say Dahlin isn't perfect as the primary QB He's a wizard with the puck and a high level thinker but seems to lack a certain artistic view. I can't deny I agree with you. Eichel definitely had an artistic flare to playmaking that Dahlin doesn't. Dahlin can match Eichel for effective passing and the like but lacks that one ingredient, that cherry on the sundae type, of innovativeness when on the PP. Dahlin does however have to deal with higher risk being a the point and the wall opposite of Tage tending to overplay the puck more often than not.
  13. 1. If UPL is the slated starter... no; I'd need a better backup who could be a 1B that could theoretically save our skin. But must be on a 1 year deal 2. If we move on from UPL to a guy like Demko, sure. He's a savvy vet that won't make a fuss and if Demko gets hurt wouldn't make a squawk if Levi hops over him or we acquire a rental starter. 3. If we move on from UPL for Levi... no; like with option 1, we'd need a solid 1B to save us if Levi struggles. However the backup wouldn't need to be on a 1 year deal. What we cannot do: 4. UPL and Levi straight up, this would be akin to throwing three go routes on a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd & 10 from your 10 hoping you succeed. Not impossible but very unlikely. 5. Another 3 headed monster situation
  14. Yeah I can't do that, I have zero interest in having 2 defenseman at 10.5mil +
  15. I'd imagine he signs for something akin to 5x7.5 or 8mil
  16. Most notable was in the 3rd Dahlin tried to jump up on a play and Östlund not only covered for him but angled the Carolina player into the boards to force a slow attack allowing Dahlin to easily get back to his proper location.
  17. WTF, that really is rough to see. 62 isn't old enough in my book. RIP
  18. If there is one thing I would never do, trade next year's 1st unprotected
  19. Again you can't lose a trade unless you get nothing in return; Thompson for instance saved us from that with the ROR deal. To win a trade you need to either get exactly what you needed lofty or otherwise, like a Stanley Cup, or the other side gained nothing or less than nothing in return. Otherwise they are merely shades of good or bad. For instance I'd say Vegas "Won the trade" because they got the piece they needed to win the Cup. But I wouldn't say we "lost the trade" because Tuch + Östlund + Krebs and Greenway have given value.
  20. You're not far off but I can't exactly say we lost both trades. I would certainly say we haven't won either trade but I can't go to the level of a loss.
