  1. Honestly the COVID year always slips my mind due to how it ended and the whole convoluted world that occurred afterward. The other thing is that his two-way play didn't kick in consistently until he went to Vegas and got lit up by his coach over some weak backchecking. Why would we the fans need to admit anything however? He was a great player who was also a jack-ass; both can be true. Once he signed here for 8 years; he told the fans he'd be here for us and give his all. I don't give one ***** if the Sabres did a bad job with the team while he was here; they weren't abusing him. He had a job to help entertain and fulfill our hopes, asked to leave, then made fun of the fans in his return; karma should of meant he wallowed in garbage his entire career however that never seems to be the case when Buffalo is involved. We get *****, no matter how friendly or considerate we are.
  2. It was cool the first night; now its just concerning.
  3. Not in a Buffalo uniform What he does in Vegas doesn't mean he's magically better in regards to us.
  4. Technically it would depend on how you mean best offensive player in Buffalo or that played in Buffalo at some point. Effectively Thompson had a better season that Eichel ever had in Buffalo.
  5. 1 of the leaks in the roof sits above a couple seats in the 300 level which have to be moved most games due to the rain/snow melting and dripping down. Supposedly the original plan was fix the roof, install new sound equipment in the rafters to better reflect and deflect sound and the addition of a new Jumbotron. COVID, Kim's "Stroke" and the new Bills Stadium delayed the plans. The updated plans are now known with them intending to replace the roof entirely in order to avoid potential continued failures in the 30+ year old roof.
  6. Joy, we get to hear 2.5 hours of ball washing of the Panthers and be reminded about our many issues on a nigh limitless basis.
  7. Wasn't my intention to call you out specifically; I apologize if that's what it looked like.
  8. No thank you. Tremendous player but his future contract in addition to the cost to acquire makes its a non-starter. This whole contract saga with Vancouver doesn't exactly sit right with me; he demanded they try to win this year and Vancouver has practically moved heaven and earth to achieve an incredible record this season. And yet with a supposed 12 mil contract on the table he still refuses to sign it. To me that either strikes me as him being selfish and not a team player or someone with unrealistic expectations.
  9. Just feels like another case of finding ways to try and proclaim moral superiority. 5. You can't actually do since practically every player would be sat for head contact/rapid head motion. Effectively any collision with another player or even the boards/ice would fall under this category. 6. Head injury and brain injury tend to be interchangeable in common vernacular. The only point of the "brain injury" push is to create fear. 7. Finally a good point 8. Feels like another scare tactic, the use of the phrases are more often used in describing a collision. Most people do understand that getting your 'bell rung" tends to mean a serious hit that likely includes head movement if not the direct point of contact. No announcer is going to say, "Well Cooke just got a traumatic brain injury." All this accomplishes is the notion we need to hate contact and be against physicality. I do however understand this idea as well and agree concussions aren't an injury you can just push through and shouldn't be treated the same way as any other injury. Outside of professional sports I'd rather err on the side of caution. That being said, while general society should aim to avoid concussions; professional athletes should have to embrace and accept that inherent risk. Trying to lessen the impact is certainly a good thing but total avoidance is neither possible nor a good goal barring Sci-Fi tech levels of equipment. Part of the reason they receive millions of dollars are to deal with the inherent risks that come with skating 22mph on a slippery surface with 11 others.
  10. I'd honestly just continue with this core versus trading Tage/Cozens to Ottawa
  11. Well seeing as Florida is in the division that would fly in the face of your previous statement.
  12. There's a couple leaks they can't fix via patching according to a source I know.
  13. Yeah, I know; we are trapped with the one trick pony that does little outside of when he's hot.
  14. Too much pain in my opinion. I like Cozens the person more than Tkachuk out of the gate
  15. Although I wouldn't make that trade
  16. I really hope we can somehow get Skinner for Couture to happen from both a slight shakeup in the core as well as a cap play as well. To make it simple Couture moves Mitts to C2 and Cozens to the 1LW/RW and coupled with Tuch could make for quite a forechecking nightmare. But cap wise it has major implications Couture is 1 mil cheaper than Skinner and has potential to be a buyout candidate still after next season with cap hits of 3.1,4.1,2.1,2.1 if he’s bad or LTIR fodder if he’s too injured to play. Lastly if he plays well and fully recovers we can use that to help leverage a different move without destroying our group because Peterka or Quinn May out pace our cap space but a vet would be on the 3rd line waiting for one of our prospects to join him. Plus anyone who has ever watched SJ games knows that Couture is not a wallflower on the ice
  17. I’d say he’d be Hedman without any of the physical play. Power just isn’t that person
  18. If we end up with a pick that isn’t 1 or 2 I’d trade that, Peterka? And one of Kulich/Savoie for Tkachuk but I highly doubt Ottawa would trade him in division. If he’s dealt; he’s bound to go to St Louis
  19. If one of the perks of signing here was for Levi to get an opportunity to prove he's an NHL goalie; you can't give him 3 games and bail. Comrie, he had shown to be a below average backup however, Tampa's goalie situation locked Buffalo along with 3 others into holding their 3 goalies to prevent poaching. I have a pretty good feeling Comrie would of been waived by October's end if not for Vasy's injury
  20. I just don't see a winger being worth more than a 1C
  21. Honestly I don't think that's a must seeing as there are so few in the league to begin with.
  22. I don't believe in some grand conspiracy about AFP working for the Pegulas and trying to undercut players. Since if you convince your fans of these numbers and you sign them for more it only makes you look bad. Fan opinions matter but in contractual negotiations would mean little.
  23. I'm unsure if you can, he may only have 2 RFA years left.
  24. Clifton and E Johnson are also considered more physical styled players He's 6'1" and nearly 200 lbs; he isn't exactly small and weak either.
  25. As in the ROR trade which was kind of funny or the Eichel trade? ROR trade would be a literal coup. The Eichel trade is likely more akin to what he's worth minus a hair since a 1C > 1W. Effectively I outright refuse to trade more for Tkachuk than we were sent for Eichel Frankly I wouldn't trade Power for Tkachuk straight up much less add sweeteners to the pot. Honestly I'd say Top 2 Defenseman are still harder to get and more valuable than Power Forwards if only due to their length of time needed to become a top defenseman as well how much longer they can fulfill that role.
