  1. What happened to Muel’s brain? He’s made two baffling plays in this game and he also fired a puck off the back board in an attempt to clear on the PK
  2. You don't have to hold onto everyone but I wouldn't just go trading everything for random extreme short term vets. Plus our 1st is to be protected; the last thing we need is to trade our 1st and then actually win the lottery. We'd only add to our misery
  3. Very unlikely to be worth it If there were a team out there looking to unload quality middle aged players for futures I'd open my asset accounts; but I have zero interest in trading our 1st/highly touted prospects/Helenius for any rentals or 35 year old 3rd liners. Frankly our 1st should be all but untouchable at this point; barring a rapid climb in the standings the likelihood of getting any player worth a Top 5 pick is miniscule. Since most teams with players worth that sort of asset are rarely in the market looking to trade them away to garner high draft picks.
  4. I'd at very least be tempted for sure. That being said his stats this year in the NHL weren't good by any metric
  5. Krebs has far more range on if he's good or not than Benson. Both fulfill many of the effort needs of their position but where Benson excels is in fewer dumb plays or over-playing the puck. Krebs will play great for a handful of games and then usually drop off a bit by trying to do way to much and needs to be pulled back in. Benson isn't perfect, but he seems immune to overconfidence driven gaffes.
  6. They had played "ok" up until that freak goal by Slavin, then they turned into terrified children.
  7. At the moment NHL.com says its Thompson's goal while their own media piece talks about McLeod's hattrick
  8. I disagree he isn't worth much; if he weren't worth a lot you wouldn't have so many teams interested in him.
  9. Dahlin has become more volatile since taking up the captaincy. He always had the occasional dumb penalty but its far more pronounced this season. I get the sense he internalizes a lot of qualms he has with different things from team play to reffing. But now as captain he's in a pressure cooker and while he most certainly tries to keep a lid on it; there seems to be a specific point in which he snaps and just sees red. We could really use a vet defenseman with some knowledge that could give Dahlin some techniques for calming while mentoring Power
  10. He's a Swedish guy who plays far more physical than the majority of his countrymen and puts up points regularly. He's never going to be a "rah rah" yelling type or a good ole' Canadian boy if that's what you want.
  11. Well I said potential great, not presently great but I do understand your opinion. I just see no value in giving up on Cozens to a division rival for an even younger center and a bottom 6 player. I'd rather him flame out or take off no where near us.
  12. Great job finding the occasional gaffe like any other #1 Defenseman has; I know you have some crusade against the guy but we would be far worse without him.
  13. I’d keep Cozens if that’s all we are getting; all we do is get cheaper and younger with even less upside. Plus we give a potential great player to a divisional rival.
  14. Arguably we’d be even worse without him. 8 of our 13 game losing streak included his injury.
  15. Rather keep Cozens then bail out a division rival of a badish contract only for Cozens to find God and play amazing for them.
  16. No thank you; I literally have zero interest in anyone on Detroit
  17. Part of me thinks Dahlin’s temper this year is going nuts because he is the captain now and his ship more or less goes askew at the slightest bump. If I passionately tried to rally my teammates in the locker room and then they go and do whatever the hell that 2nd and 3rd were I too would completely lose it eventually. Frankly he’s also probably a bit torn simultaneously since he’s great friends with most of, if not, the entire team and any action he might take in requesting assistance would cost players he’s played with for almost 6 years to be moved.
  18. ***** Detroit is taking their hot streak turn, 6 Ws in a row.
  19. Actually 3 or 4 were straight on staring at the target the puck just dying a foot or two past the stick
  20. UPL with the shutout Ottawa seemed to want to mix it up constantly and Gilbert kept saying bring it and they’d run away. (Benson doesn’t even need anyone around to try and stir up something lol) Puck kept dying on the ice in the 3rd in the Ottawa end. I counted about 6 or 7 pucks that just seemed to die after an attempted shorter pass. The Peterka one that led to a SH breakaway being one, two times by Benson and a stick handling move by Quinn after one of them. Aside that they played fine in the 3rd but need to tighten it up a bit better.
  21. Yeah after the replay, I saw it lol
  22. Also Gilbert tried to fight Tkachuk earlier and he refused
