  1. Players stay in Juniors for 1 reason primarily, to learn a 200ft game. Benson already knew how to play a 200ft game. He needed a year or two in Rochester so that he could compete with harder competition and not get over-confident dominating peers.
  2. He would gain nothing but bad habits staying in Juniors
  3. Zach Benson should sue the NHL/WHL for the rule that prevents him from going to Rochester
  4. I think Lehner has gone nuts ๐Ÿ˜ž
  5. Well, we just never get to be happy Injure Leafs
  6. Any idea what Quinn was trying to accomplish there?
  7. It's amazing how even when we make the right play the puck always finds a Leaf
  8. And now a quick whistle to protect a leaf
  9. How incredibly lucky for those bastards; hey Gilbert end someone's year please
  10. Honestly if we go down a few more; I tell my few tough guys to just target heads and end Toronto's season
  11. It's amazing how often the league just finds new ways to ***** us raw
  12. I doubt that is the actual truth behind it. Itโ€™s far more likely heโ€™s getting lowballed and a few GMs are trying to slander him into making a dumb trade.
  13. But that isn't how the vast majority are wired; especially if there are friendships and the like. Winning can cover up discontent and/or cure minor issues. But its merely a band-aid if success isn't immediately apparent or the chasm is too wide to bridge.
  14. But that's not exactly a good way to do it; players aren't robots or purely assets. They have intricate personalities, backgrounds, demographics, etc. You have to balance both the personal and professional side of the sport. Adams is far to personal, Drury is on the opposite side of the spectrum. Players aren't numbers or merely stats on a sheet. You can't handle them as you would merchandise or property. Emotions do matter and they do make an impact on other players inherently. You can't baby them but also can't be an ***** to every player on your team; players talk to each other and to their agents. Fear doesn't create order; it can force order to a point but will eventually create resistance that will tear everything apart. What Drury did to Goodrow and then Trouba may give a message of high standards but it can also simultaneously make players feel their management is untrustworthy and isn't going to treat them like humans or in their best interest. The message of standards will get inevitably lost in the possible paranoia and/or vitriol players will feel about things.
  15. According to multiple sources his comments had nothing to do with the actual trade. And while I struggle to fully believe that; I could certainly see a scenario of Kakko being told heโ€™s getting traded soon as well as scratched until then and thus he lashed out. Drury is honestly a very bad GM and is likely damaging the Rangers brand for general players. When youโ€™re good, you get far more leeway and players will tolerate more to be a part of the success. The Rangers however broke a serious unwritten rule by using waivers to circumvent a NTC. And used it on a team favorite who was well liked in the room. While a loophole that isnโ€™t illegal; it creates discord in the room by playing the lawyer game versus being in good faith. Trouba being outright threatened with the same occurrence if he didnโ€™t waive his NTC is another example of this type of management.
  16. Gives me funny feelings about what we could somehow get for Jokiharju lol A very unusual trade to say the least in terms of value. Poor guy, plays with his brother briefly, then is sent back to Pittsburgh again
  17. Begs to question what other teams refer to as firm offers? If they are merely spamming lowball offers for Cozens and the like then at some point I could seriously understand just outright ignoring or giving a snarky response back. No Nashville, we aren't trading you Cozens for Stamkos or to Vancouver for a 1st and Hoglander.
  18. We have become the NHLs Chernobyl, players have little to no interest whatsoever to ply for the fans or the crest. We have a handful of guys, which includes the one on IR that seem to at least give a damn every night. Even Tuch looks worn down this point. Im seriously worried about this franchise as a whole at this point because it seems as if weโ€™ve become a pariah to some, a joke to many, and a mere cash grab to the rest. I have not the slightest idea how you fix the franchise barring a sale and then we have a slim chance of keeping the team thus making it all a moot point. I know without question if the team moves we will never have another NHL franchise so we canโ€™t afford to simply hope another billionaire spawns from the ether to save the team.
