  1. The one thing noticeable about Granato was in every two game series we saw: Per 1 & part of 2, overwhelmed. 2nd half of Per 2 and Per 3, adjusting and playing better. Then in Game 2 they tended to play with or better than their opponents for good stretches. If we can make the playoffs with the guy, he should be great a mid-series adjustments.
  2. Perhaps a Gronburg hire to use us as a landing in NA Hockey?
  3. Most, 1st time NHL HCs have one. We need some experience somewhere in this franchise.
  4. I'd want at least 1 former head coach on the staff.
  5. Now for what I would say is of almost bigger importance, who are we bringing in as assistants? Granato wasn't the greatest candidate, but far from the worst and we can be confident he'll at least have the team play in an entertaining manner. How he uses the offseason and what moves we make will further how this thing will go. I'm cautiously optimistic due to the Sabres play upon his promotion but more so on the fact he made the players work on fundamentals and certainly said what we wanted to hear.
  6. I still refuse to even entertain the Rangers if I'm Adams. No reason to keep him in the conference and give NYC another reason to look down on Buffalo.
  7. Obviously they want Risto and Fitzgerald lol
  8. I do wonder if they can bridge that gap again. The thought was they sold the Beauts because the NHL was going to make their own women’s league hence it would of been a conflict of interest yet no league has ever formed
  9. Supposedly Garland is for sale, I hope KA looks into it
  10. Well.... we're waiting...
  11. Going miss some of his material, he wasn’t overtly political and was usually good at least getting a few chuckles from me.
  12. How I see it is that Adams has likely been contemplating about Eichel's future with the Sabres since arriving. He likely feels he isn't a good captain/locker room presence but a great player and has been on the fence all year. The injury saga may have been a tipping point to Adams as his superstar is gung ho over getting a risky surgery done rather than at very least going through the proper more conservative approach of physical therapy. Did Eichel wait the 12 weeks, it seems so, but how hard did he try to make it work and did Adams have to literally pull teeth to get him to not jump into surgery? While I understand Eichel's frustration, airing all the dirty laundry wasn't what a captain should ever do. He could of easily made his point without coming off as a jackass; especially seeing as he should of known Adams would strike back. As much as I'd like to side with Eichel since it's his body; I have to side with the Sabres in this case since it feels like Eichel is overzealous about having a risky operation to which both the team's doctor and his first secondary opinion both advised against. It's like being told by 4 doctors you should diet but demanding liposuction. Simultaneously I have three scenarios as to what generally going on: 1. Eichel isn't recovering quickly but the Sabres are still very hesitant to let their star have this surgery. As long as Eichel's medical records are private we can play Schrodinger's cat with his health; there's risk involved in the trade but we are playing our cards close to the vest to avoid a team dropping out due to the medical report. 2. Eichel is recovering and the Sabres want to still try and smooth things over and want a coach in here before doing anything drastic. 3. Eichel's injury is career changing potentially and the Sabres are debating what to do in general. 4. Eichel died in a freak carpet slipping accident and Adams + Karmanos are going all "Weekend at Bernie's" with him.
  13. Hopefully they break each other to an extent they just let us in the playoffs
  14. How much would Dumba be worth if we dealt him?
  15. I don't trade him then. If we can't get a giant return; there's no way to save ticket sales otherwise
  16. I will always wonder why Botts didn't trade Risto + a 4th for Ehlers Why would a GM in any circumstance, go into a season with 4 LHDs and 5 RHDs after literally acquiring another RHD without having a general strategy to divest from one of the RHDs? Then choose to trade Scandella over a month early while still within easy distance of a playoff spot to a team we were chasing the spot with. It still completely baffles me. We very likely go to the playoffs last year with almost any differing scenario including acquiring Ehlers or merely keeping Scandella. Where Tim Murray played "all in" on every hand; Botterill seemed to think he was playing Go Fish Adams thus far has done mediocre in trades. Johansson for Staal was a great trade, and made great sense. Staal however chose to give little to nothing each game which sullied the trade. He then dealt him for a 3rd & 5th rounder which was a solid return seeing as Johansson likely wouldn't of fetched even that. Now Montreal goes on a run and the picks get effectively trashed. Montour was a shrug. Hall was the only bad trade he made thus far and that may have had other circumstances behind it. In the end his likely trade of Eichel will decide his fate; can he find a way to extract as much value out of Eichel as conceivably possible or does he trip over his own feet like Botts did with ROR. No Eichel trade will satisfy us entirely as we will lose the best player in the deal and the whole purpose of much of our suffering in the tank years. However there is a great deal of difference between Adams acquiring 3OA, Zegras and Comtois and Adams acquiring Rakell, Henrique, and a JAG prospect. The former would inspire sadness but have genuine hope stemming from it where as the latter would make me want to curl up in a ball and cry.
  17. Add their 2022 1st too 🙂
  18. Technically you have to boil a lot of it down due to cap issues. The more concise version would be Glass, Krebs, Tuch, Smith/Fleury, 2021 & 2022 1sts But then I still felt it was a tad light so I added Hague. From there it slowly spiraled into a 10 player deal
  19. I'd rather take Beniers 1st and let Seattle choose between Eklund and Power in that case. We'd win either way. 3OA to me is a solid prospect but not one worth anything near a Zegras/Dach type. I want a Zegras/Dach type as evidence they don't intend to sit on their hands the next few years hoping to get 1OA again. I want to at least have a slight hope for a playoff berth if things fall a certain way.
  20. Why exactly, I don't see what makes him all that special?
  21. Well he was a cap dump/depth.
  22. Well Vegas should certainly help in driving up the price for Eichel
  23. What do you guys think of this monstrosity I just proposed lol https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2499551
  24. What's Glass like? I'd imagine a Vegas trade would be more or less a fleecing job(as much as you can when still trading the best player) due to Vegas's "go big or go home" strategy.
  25. I think we do get someone of that tier to be honest; the fact GMs are saying the price is too high and what not makes me feel confident that eventually a team will step up their offer.
