  1. I was somewhat ok with passing on Taylor Hall as at the time Risto was literally our only "good" defenseman. I would of however taken the Ehlers deal easily. Jokiharju perhaps if he plateaus but Dahlin would likely be worth going down with the ship. If past events in the NHL has ever showed anything, it would be that dmen take time and that even as they reach their mid 20's they can still take off. I'm not trading Dahlin only to watch him blow up at 26 years of age because I didn't want to be left holding a bag. Borgen is a rookie, it isn't exactly a great look when all your physicality comes from rookies and 2nd year guys. As for the last part, Dmen are told to not get involved as it will move the faceoff outside the zone if they do.
  2. Not sure how letting Risto get taken in the expansion draft actually improves us. He’s covered in warts but is our only physical dman who also has offensive skills and can technically eat minutes.
  3. No interest in trading for Gaudreau and trading away Jack Quinn. Would rather not trade Risto inside the conference.
  4. I keep up with them just don’t watch full games typically
  5. I think he would merely be a senior advisor. Effectively come here and help right the ship, use his many connections and the like without him having to work a Full-time position.
  6. Not necessarily, separate trades have happened before.
  7. To BUF: Armia Kulak Lehkonen Weal (Cap Dump) 2021 1st round pick (MTL) 2022 2nd round pick (MTL) To MTL: Hall(50%) Montour(50%) All Buffalo would need to do is put McCabe on LTIR for a couple days to put Weal on either the Taxi Squad or AHL. Any thoughts?
  8. Tokarski is like the dollar store version of Hasek. He dives around and looks absolutely insane in his goaltending style. Just wish he had some skill at freezing the puck.
  9. The Sabres haven't played great but the refs are effectively trying to bury them.
  10. My best guess is Karmanos will still come barring some absurd job offer elsewhere. The owners may run a chaotic mess of an organization but they are well-intentioned. If Adams can truly convince the Pegulas to take a step back; you have a great fanbase, and a number of great pieces to work with. Plus while the Pegulas have been cheap recently, I think a solid strategy would get them more willing to open their wallet.
  11. I spy Toby Rieder
  12. More in general. Curt has the right idea.
  13. That rule was expunged literally the following year I recall.
  14. Frequent no, but remember courtesy works both ways. That is all, end of discussion. What is God's name is happening in the COL vs ARI game though? 6 goals in under 6 minutes between both teams!
  15. Being courteous doesn't extend to bending over backwards in order to merely speak with a stranger at a grocery store or being scolded by a stranger for somehow offending them by calling a group of people "guys." That's all.
  16. Ugh, to me this truly is too far in terms of bending over backwards for minority populations. It's honestly just sad what the world is coming to but this isn't a political thread so I wont go any further.
  17. I wouldn't, we need a legit head coach but I'd be fine with keeping all three of them around regardless in different roles. Barring winning out the season I really don't have interest in trying to gauge a coach's talent in 27 or so worthless games. God I'm happy they finally won!
  18. Then I guess we are truly screwed
  19. We can’t pay Ullmark more than 4mil at max without crippling our team further in other positions. We need a legit backup or 1B which would cost about 2.5 to 3.5 mil. A good goalie budget is under 8/9mil for both.
  20. I'd claim him, at minimum he'd be expansion bait. At best he could figure it out again and be a great offensive defenseman. Not to mention we are a tad short on Dmen once we trade Montour with all our present injuries.
  21. Im a 28 year old man and I honestly just want to cry at this point.
  22. I wouldn’t trade him unless a team quite literally blows my socks off. I’d much rather resign him so we at minimum have a 1B goalie on our roster. Not to mention I’ll never root for a loss again after those two tank years. I want to win regardless of the unimportantance of a game. The exception being if a team offers us a 1st and their top goalie prospect for some unbelievable reason.
  23. God I hope not. I honestly believe we'll get at least a 1st for Hall(50%) judging on the number of supposed interested suitors.
  24. Both, supposedly he has had a rib injury for near or prior to the season’s start. He is a world class athlete but a rib injury could make even the fittest player have breathing trouble. No matter how powerful his lungs are, if it hurts to breathe, it’s going to make it difficult to do anything. Add to that a later neck or shoulder injury and suddenly it becomes too much for even the most pain tolerant of people.
