  1. Biron on NHL Network Radio said that while he still expects Eichel to be a Sabre by opening day that if traded; Byfield would be a must in a LAK trade. Kouleas added he doubts the Sabres will even entertain offers from this time zone due to it mere appearance.
  2. Either one more year in Europe, in the AHL or some combination of the two would be ideal. Unless he’s destroying the AHL by February; I don’t want him in a Sabres jersey until at least 22-23
  3. I would imagine any team giving legitimate offers understands that while its a risk; prospects are just as much if not more of a risk. Likewise, Adams or whomever is running the team is likely to understand that the Sabres MUST get top value/near top value for Eichel or they are not only going to be bad for the foreseeable future but will further destroy the remaining passionate fans. You can't see the 34% drop as anything but a shot across the bow telling them we demand better. Otherwise it may actually start to infest their successful venture with the Bills. (Plus they can't sell/move the team due to the sheer outrage it would cause)
  4. From what I saw of Power, he's kinda boring to be honest. He doesn't hit, skate super quick, or fire howitzers from the point. However the guy eats minutes for breakfast, has a very active stick, and certainly fits the jack of all trades idea. He is very calm with the puck and more often than not will make the right play. He strikes me as a little bit of a project that needs to be taught how to better use his giant frame (don't need Chara but he should play the body a bit more) What certainly makes him special though is his seeming indifference to playing against 12 year vets and his ability to sort of just blend into any situation. He isn't flashy but is more of a consistent light. I'd send him back to college for a year and hook him up with a mentor to help him gain some additional defensive techniques. I highly doubt he'll light it up in the NHL, for at least his first few years, but he should be solid defensively while in no way a burden to the offense. I could certainly imagine him working well in clutch times with Dahlin as he's the type of player that would be capable of giving Dahlin the ability to free-wheel without worry. In a weird way he's Ristolainen if you took his grit and offense and switched them to IQ and defense lol
  5. Hell, he's part of the reason I want another later 1st; Arizona needs a 1st and then we'd have one to offer them.
  6. We could also theoretically trade the WPG 1st for Connor Garland.
  7. I put the trade in on CapFriendly, plus Vilardi and Kempe would both be in the NHL
  8. Gives us draft capital and rids us of a malcontent.
  9. Brown/Quick is - .5 So 1.5 + -0.5 +1 + 1 +1 = 4
  10. Well technically I'm taking either Turcotte + Vilardi or Byfield but otherwise you are right
  11. They would probably want us to based on the fact we would be gutting that ELC pool 🙂 Plus I'm trying to get as much as physically possible.
  12. Here's an idea based on the supposed WPG interest in Risto Risto(50%) and Pick #33 to WPG for WPG's 1st this year (Barring a Top 4 Finish of course) (#17 to #23 or so) and WPG's 2nd in 2022.
  13. I would require Byfield, and my only willingness to bargain would be with Turcotte + Vilardi. Effectively I either want their Top Center prospect or their #2&3. Kempe certainly makes sense We will need to take some kind of cap dump; ideally we get Dustin Brown since he's a leader and from Ithaca. More likely they would want to give us Quick, his primary problem would be barring a huge bounce back to adequacy; we'd be forced to bury him or re-trade him just to get a solid 1/2 punch in net. From there I'd want #8 and a lottery protected 1st in 2022. I'd imagine they would think they'd have a good enough team to make the playoffs with a center group of Eichel-Kopitar-Byfield. That gives us 4 1sts effectively. Kempe+Vilardi = 1.5 1sts Turcotte = 1 1st Brown = -.5 1sts 1st in 2021 = 1 1st 1st in 2022/23 - 1 1st For Buffalo we'd shed approximately 300 to 400k on the salary cap depending on Brown/Quick. Gain 2 young NHL players and a prospect C with a vet for 1/2 years and a pair of 1sts to help flood our prospect pool with potential.
  14. Had he even shown 1% of what he has done in Boston I might not hate him as much.
  15. Certainly they are very entertaining.
  16. Keep Granato at HC, hire Gronborg to be his associate coach and then find a former NHL head coach who is without a job to be his assistant. Perhaps make Girardi an assistant; but I think he and Ellis would do better at being development coaches. Then we’d have a guy who has already connected with many players in Granato, a seasoned former HC to bounce ideas off and a innovative guy from Europe to give further ideas.
  17. ROR is returning?!? lol I won't be angry with Beniers or Power; both are highly solid and safe draft picks. I need to know how serious Beniers' ankle injury is however
  18. I'd certainly be cautiously optimistic about Gronborg; guy is smart and understands hockey strategy and tactics.
  19. Ekblad isn't bad, he slumped after a few concussions but was very good this year. I'd love the ability to throw Dahlin and Ekblad at opposing teams either as a pair or on separate pairs.
  20. I'd certainly be very interested in Gronberg as an Associate Coach; just getting him here in some regards may assist our team.
  21. Gallant is my personal favorite but he may just not be interested in this job.
  22. Great beard, perhaps a European coach has the answers we need? Again though, great beard.
  23. Beniers is still my favorite however much like Power, he's a more or less jack of all trades type of player versus an elite player in any respective category. (his speed is the closest thing he has to elite level talent) While I'd rather take Beniers, Power would certainly not make me go into any depressive spiral.
  24. In their respective draft years Byram > Sanderson > Power > Seider (Remember he was seen as a huge reach by Detroit) Nowadays all three are better than Power but that doesn't say much due to their respective ages. I don't hate Power, I think he'll become a solid defenseman and perhaps a #2/#3 Dman. He's calm, cool, and collected; does everything well; skates well...etc His hang ups are that he has no truly elite talent and his lack of a mean streak for a guy his size.
  25. Still, Id rather have an unhappy Eichel than another ROR trade to bash my head in over. If a team wants to trade for Eichel, they'll need to pay the regular high price regardless of his injury situation.
