The issue is where does he go while everyone is healthy? He, like Mike Reilly doesn’t want to go to the AHL. And when we’d be fully healthy he’d be our 7/8 automatically due to his age and lack of long term usefulness. It becomes even worse if he outplayed Bryson as it places Granato in an unwinnable position. Do you play Bryson whom you want to see if he can grow into something or a slightly better vet which has little value outside of the immediate time. If Granato preaches best play = playing time then he’d be left either being a liar or stunting growth. I don’t think our depth is money driven but rather who would be willing to play in Rochester primarily unless needed and would raise a tantrum over it. That is literally why Pysyk signed with Detroit; he was penciled in to play 6/7. With us adding Bush, we would of only been able to offer him 8/Rochester in order to protect Fitzgerald from being claimed by New Jersey.

Trading our prospect pool for “quick fixes” is how Murray screwed our 1st rendition of the rebuild. Where are these supposed high cap, low year solid Dman that Adams is supposed to be targeting? Myers isn’t worth pursuit Most of the players are on teams that need or want them already and would gut our assets to acquire for some short term fix or paid absurd contracts that would get in the way of our homegrown talent. (DAHLIN, Cozens, etc.) Again, where do you hope to find a solid goalie? Good or great goalies are effectively locked away by their team. All that remains are an assortment of has beens, maybes, and hideously bad. He tried for a fixer in Murray but was denied and chose to grab the highest analytic potential goalie as a UFA. Throwing wads of cash at Campbell or Husso to convince them to come here is effectively shooting into a crowd with a blindfold on and hoping you hit the apple on a guy’s head.

Reilly, well honestly I'd of claimed him Myers isn't all that good defensively; while better than our present D, he wouldn't fit with Dahlin, Bush and Jokiharju taking the 3 RHD spots Chychrun is not worth trading multiple 1sts for in our case. I highly doubt they want Rosen, Mitts and Ryan Johnson..... That would be an interesting pickup I'm rather annoyed by this idea to be honest. So far, most if not every goalie signed this season or acquired has been far from solid. Husso has been the best thus far but has also been lit up like a Christmas tree a few time as well. Money does not equate to success. Defensive depth is much the same; its depth and players who fill those roles know what they are. You can't dump money on slightly better Dmen depth then effectively bury them for emergencies. There were slim pickings this offseason to begin with. Signing a "good" vet to take a spot in the 6 doesn't make sense if they are merely a placeholder and are preventing experience for those we actually want to keep around. The trade market is much better either seeing as many teams have suspect goaltending thus far this season.

Well besides Husso, what goalie has actually done well this far? Campbell has looked atrocious and Kuemper is well Kuemper.

Detroit has a hot goalie but hasn’t been great and the Isles aren’t considered a rebuilding team.

We literally can’t send anyone to Rochester since we already are full of developmental guys down there. Even if we did it wouldn’t accomplish much.

I’m completely at a loss of what we are supposed to do seeing as almost any possible vet will underachieve or implode upon acquisition and any mediocre player we move will simply explode.

Can we ever catch a break, ever? We play hard, doesn’t matter. We draw what should be a penalty, no calls. We shoot and it hits the post or crossbar or miraculous gains sentience and walks off the ice with a top hat singing Ragtime Gal. Other team, shoots a puck and it will literally heat seek to the back of our net regardless of circumstances.

Sure…. It makes a ton of sense to lambast your team playing down 3 of your top 5 D and with Bush playing somewhat hobbled. Id guess Granato was disappointed in blowing the 3-2 lead but in the present circumstances he isn’t going to crucify them. They were underdogs to begin with. I hate losing; and it certainly seems to me that the team does too.

So sick of how much ***** Tampa gets away with between slew footing Thompson or double hitting Power. They fought and clawed with one of the best but came up short on the back of a back to back against arguably the Top 2 in the East on the road.

In most cases I would agree; but much of what he did was not just typical bullying but rather cruel and unusual torture to a person with a disability. His apology was merely a statement made to clean up his past of wrong doing and nothing more. Bullies pick on nerds; not people with special needs. You have to be unusually twisted to do that.

We are hanging in there, just wish we could a couple bounces to go our way.

If anything changes in that video annoyed me it was Matthews just standing around smirking while his teammates got to into a scrum just off to his side. If you are willing to stir up ####, then at minimum you should aid your teammates by keeping the numbers even and grabbing a body. He has no requirement to fight but standing smugly isn’t helping Giordano or Bunting in the slightest. It’s akin to a noble sending peasants to fight on his behalf while he scoffs at their squalor.

Just so you know, someone on CapFriendly last season ran the numbers and found that the Sabres Arena seems to be much more difficult to garner hits in. On average the Sabres averaged more hits, by a pretty significant margin, on the road than at home.

Part of agrees with you and part of me thinks the Sabres were a bit stymied by Pittsburgh in the 1st with extreme pressure. When the Sabres started to adapt in the 2nd they started looking better and in the 3rd when Pittsburgh ran out of juice we ran them over like a Greyhound Bus
