  1. I hope Buffalo shows zero interest in Koskinen or Lankinen. Both are train wrecks in net. Give me DeSmith and Comrie for a couple years and let’s see if we can pull together a playoff push
  2. I think this may have been a deal planned last deadline to be perfectly honest. However Dallas may have needed the LTIR space.
  3. He’s secretly 5’6” on stilts
  4. The thing is that Orlov would be a 1 year rental and I honestly don’t see Adams looking for a rental player requiring a 2nd and a 2023 pick to bring in. Plus I’m hesitant to think Washington deals one of their better Dman. Stralman used to be a great Dman, this past year he had a 38.9 CF%, granted he was used 70% in Dzone face offs. Back in Florida he was used in more traditional 50/50 face offs zone minutes and was only a 42 CF% both years. Arizona and Florida were bad, but can Stralman turn back the clock to his Tampa days? Subban plays at 56% Ozone and is hovering around 48.5 CF% In my honest opinion, if we take Subban I’d want him to be out 3RD and play with a guy like Ian Cole.
  5. Wrong guy, I do like Paul too but Palat is the winger
  6. One Forward I might be willing to go after is Palat. Guy is clutch and reminds me of Hossa
  7. It's over? Still has 4min on ESPN+ God dammit
  8. Down 9-8 midway through 4th
  9. To put it simply, I’d rather have Letang but if Subban is fully committed to playing a mentor role and just bringing good vibes then I’m not going to crucify KA for not getting Letang unless Letang literally says he was interested and Buffalo declined
  10. Doubt it, primarily because teams at the cap will always need a way to detach cap and buyouts typically do more harm than good to the competitive level of the league. Additionally, a player like Bishop shouldn’t be prevented from getting his assured money due to an injury and his team shouldn’t be handicapped by bad luck
  11. My realistic goalie tandem would be DeSmith and Comrie; both are relatively young and have alright stats. Not trading a 1st for another goalie. Also I think Philly likely broke Carter Hart; his confidence was shattered.
  12. Alright, this is what I mean by making our cap more valuable. With Bishop on IR, we are still 14mil under the cap. As long as we are beneath the cap; teams won't be quite as willing to bribe the Sabres to eat cap as we'd need cap. Essentially we end up in the same situation as we did in the Boychuk trade with us needing cap just to hit the floor thus we held little leverage. After signing: Olofsson 4x5mil Bryson 2x1.85mil UPL 2x1.5mil (300k in Rochester) And all the other random guys whom don't hit the cap; we still need another 7mil in cap. However, now we are within a couple signings of getting to the floor. No longer would the Sabres need to sign Gaudreau to 14mil just to get close to the cap floor with 1 signing. Or 2 7mil signings. Now if you spend 7mil on Comrie and DeSmith for instance on matching 2x3.25/3.75 respective contracts and to play it safe, Subban at 3x4mil you are still sitting with 15mil + in cap space and that's with Bjork at your 14th F and no 7th Dman (R2 is 13th F with 1mil contract) At that point you only need 1 Dman and everything else can be left free if desired. Thus forcing other teams to pay us to eat their other cap dumps Just a look at an AGM https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3322124
  13. Well I’m more angling towards a player with a few different offers Personally I’d start working on our RFAs now because the sooner we hit the cap floor; the more valuable our cap space becomes in trades.
  14. Another thought I had was making this move technically makes our cap space a bit more valuable than before and will lessen the degree of Agents trying to squeeze the Sabres due to their exorbitant amount of cap space. Essentially, if you are 42mil under the cap and offer a guy 2mil guy 3mil; what exactly is stopping him from asking for 6mil if he knows the Sabres need cap to reach the floor?
  15. It can honestly be either cheap or not depending on how the off-season goes as a whole. Does Bishop barely get us over the floor or do we have 79mil in cap come October?
  16. I have no strong feelings on this. All we’ve done is get closer to the cap floor for the upcoming season. If we end up needing the cap he can go on LTIR but I doubted from the start we’d spend 42 mil in cap this offseason
  17. So we receive a chance to pick another player for eating a contract. I just hope he actually is invited to work with Buffalo It’s his shtick, it’s rather entertaining the odd places he ends up
  18. My guess is this is more or less to just aid in getting some cap. It doesn't mean much else. The difference between 42 mil and 37mil cap space for the few spots remaining on the roster isn't exactly a huge deal.
  19. I think this also rules out the Sabres eating Lucic's cap hit this year lol
  20. I can also understand the other 2 French connection members to a degree. I wish we had a level beneath number retirement; akin to the Bills' ring of fame for players deserving kudos and honoring but not true number retirement level.
  21. Cozen's favorite player was Toews, any interest in getting him if he's extremely cheap?
  22. As long as Miro can come to the U.S. I'll take the cancer survivor over a potential headcase. Probably overall preferable
  23. But how? He’s signed another contract with EDM in the interim. How can that work?
  24. Of course but that’s who he wants to be at least. 🙂
  25. Karmanos’s comments lead me to agree UPL will start in Rochester barring an incredible preseason
