  1. All I see here is more of his typical talk about staying patient and building the "right" way. I don't think he means waiting for 2025-26 to go to the playoff however. I take it as him stating he doesn't want to make moves that will actively be a detriment to the team in 25-26. For instance throwing 8mil per year at a 30+ year old for 7 years. The player may help us now but would, by year 3, be actively hurting the team in some regard. In some ways its akin to trying to cause a snowball to roll down hill until it becomes practically unstoppable. There is a point somewhere on the "graph" in which the number of prospects likely to make the NHL becomes strong enough to take from both via trade and for replacements without exhausting the supply Year 1.
  2. Yes, unsure what exactly “it” truly is but he seems to have this aura of confidence that doesn’t turn into ego. He knows he’s good but also knows he can be even better.
  3. I’ve read Gavrikov isn’t good, more akin to a Gudbranson than a Samuelsson
  4. Losing sucks however, Dahlin on that OT PK probably played on of the best shifts I’ve seen out of any Dman in years.
  5. Thompson will play if he's able to gut through it; literally an article just came out about it this morning. Doubt he does practice however the rest of the year.
  6. Looks like Tage won't be taking draws; Tuch took the draw
  7. Asset management also has a place; spending large gobs of assets to get 8th place and get rocked by the Bruins only to lose those rentals makes zero sense
  8. Oh I understand but the team is looking for long term vs short term in regards to Levi especially
  9. Levi's 1st start is likely to be against MTL akin to how Power's 1st was against Toronto.
  10. Tyler Bertuzzi, would you give him 4x5mil to play the 3rd line?
  11. I like Las Vegas but it can become obnoxious in some ways like if you get a headache there; and I can't just say Vegas and Bostonians are loud lol Not exactly a super connection
  12. Good for him, the whole savior complex got to his head here and a trade allowed him to reset himself along with being humbled a bit through experience. In the end his persona never quite meshed with Buffalo quite like it does in Vegas. Vegas as a whole is loud and obnoxious and Bostonians tend to behave similarly.
  13. Loved everything but the 2 punches to the MTL guy when he was on the ice. Marchand is the epitome of hate when he's against you but would love him if he were on your team.
  14. Both have 1 year left, however Jokiharju is far younger and an RFA
  15. How about Jokiharju for Tanev(CGY) straight up?
  16. Also a WWI division which is where the name came from. The regiment was named after the chief I presume.
  17. I'd say its unlikely that all of them never move beyond that; its quite literally the 1st time for the vast majority there to actually be in a playoff race and deal with weighted games with all that entails. Hell the rules practically change for the last 30 or so games. ..... Yes obviously it makes so much sense to compare a team with the youngest roster to a team with one of the most experienced rosters in the league. Just in case you've forgotten, the players are living and breathing humans; not robotic automatons. They feel and think just like us.
  18. Again, team success does not equal ownership "goodness" The owners don't play on the ice, and while the vast majority meddle to varying degrees, you can't fault them directly for missing the playoffs to a degree where their lack of success equals being bad owners. To me a bad owner is based on their general behavior with the team and how they treat their "asset" They have spent a lot of money on players, coaches, GMs, and other support staff. They obviously want a winner seeing as they have made GM moves in the past; if they were truly bad owners Regier or Murray would still be GM due to their contracts. The players, for the most part, are ok with the Pegulas and they have made an effort to make the players feel comfortable. Bad owners get into multiple feuds with players, refuse to pay stars, and deny fans the ability to watch games, among other things. Again I'm not saying their great owners; but rather mediocre versus bad.
  19. Pretty much agree with you 100% I'd rather not just automatically pencil him in for Buffalo since we already have a boatload of young players here. His primary need is strength build up versus on ice adjustments. He can get far more time to bulk up in Rochester than he can in Buffalo.
  20. There have been far worse owners; least successful sure but the worst is certainly not true. Practically every Arizona owner and Chicago’s former owner, and the guy from Toronto easily trounce the Pegulas at being bad owners. Lack of success doesn’t necessarily mean ownership is bad; mind you, they aren’t the best by far, but to blame them for everything is akin to blaming a company owner for everything that occurs both internally and externally.
  21. Then spent close to 100 mil on Thompson and Cozens Their cap floor situation this year was more indicative of their roster's age.
  22. Husso was traded for prior to signing Boston is unlikely to have traded him in the division Georgiev was a known headcase in NY
  23. 2nd game in a week in which we had the better analytics but were manhandled. I honestly feel they are in a bit of a vicious cycle at this time. Goalies are cold and Dahlin is playing hurt. Players feel nerves from playoff race Players grip sticks far too tight and try to overanalyze everything Goaltenders give up questionable early goal Players feel even more pressure and start gripping even harder Breakdowns start occurring and the players just can't break out of it. They seem to know what's happening before and after the game but during the heat of the moment are getting burned continuously. The loss to the Rangers seemed to snap something and started torching their mindset. If there's a sign of a lack of enough vets; it's this right here. Effectively you have 10+ players looking to Okposo and Anderson to right the ship. (A coach can't right the ship in this situation as it isn't Xs&Os but mental player stuff.) But Anderson can only play once a week maximum and Okposo is one guy. Girgs and Skinner are technically vets but neither have a lick of experience in playoff races and thus don't have anything to contribute really.
