  1. I would feel awfully dirty cheering for Leafs................
  2. I'm sure he would ask and try to use that as a starting point, but I think there is a better chance of the Sabres going on a Historical run and winning the cup this season then there is of the Blues willing to make a deal like that. i would think it may be easier to make a deal with Anaheim to get someone like Gibson because Anaheim still has some other potential future #1s that are almost ready.
  3. Still doesn't make sense, the Blues could just keep Allen, offer Halak as part of the Miller Deal with picks/prospects and get to keep someone with a higher upside/future in Allen instead of taking on Enroth. In any deal with the blues, the Sabres will have to take a goalie, either Halak or Elliot, back (unless part of a 3 team trade where the Blues can ship a goalie off somewhere else) to the Sabres. They won't be sending their future #1 back in the deal and leave themselves with 3 UFAs with miller, Halak, and Elliot. I like the idea of getting Halak in return and re-signing him to be the #1 for now. He would be a bit of a downgrade in net, but it still a decent #1 that can be good enough while they continue the rebuild and can hold things down til one of the prospects step up or they can figure something else out when the rest of the teams ready. it would allow them to stay competitive while they rebuild
  4. Too bad its not like the Spengler cup, Hackett played for the US/Rochester until they were eliminated, then IIRC, he joined team Canada and played for them in their final game. I still don't understand how that tournament works and how they chose what teams will represent what and who is invited to play
  5. Would have been funnier if USA network carried the Canadian game instead with the US game on an NBC network.......... Miller is the only reason I would cheer for the US, so I hope Haseks former team destroys The American Lumberjack and his fellow teammates. Almost wanted to wear my Czech jersey today.
  6. I wonder if they decide (if the NHL continues to allow its players to play in the games) to go for more local KHLers in the future over the NHLers? Ovie and Malkin did nothing and were supposed to supply alot of the offence. I'm waiting to here how they place the blame on them being embarrassed in 2 straight Olympic games
  7. No, you guys call it Back/Canadian bacon, we just call it bacon
  8. Didn't miss it, those are curlers, this is about womans hockey players
  9. Well if it worked in NHL '13, might have to bump that up to an E8!
  10. Wonder how many of the Russia players will follow Ovie to the US embassy to try and get US citizenship since they won't be permitted back in Russia anymore. I was waiting for the fans to turn in that game or for Putin to come running out in front of the Russian army after the game ended to proclaim the Olympic games over and for everyone to get out
  11. No, this is the quarter finals, its win or go home. Both the US and Canada have to win tomorrow to face each other in the semis where the loser goes on to play in the bronze game. Tomorrows games are win or go home
  12. Any body else see 'Early Kelly Bundy', like first season of Married with Children Christina Applegate?
  13. CBC is Canadian Government owned (Basically), so that may work to our (Canadians) advantage since our taxes are paying for it, Damit!
  14. Just take a look at the number of shots he has faced, which puts him close to the top in the league (or it did at one point this season)Giving up 1 goal on 10 shots gives you the same save% as giving up 2 goals on 20 shots or 3 goals on 30 shots, etc.
  15. Enroth and Leino for Crosby and Fleury, E5! isn't that supposed to be guys like Black? DR is below him and reports to him in most cases?
  16. From the looks of the stats, it almost sounds like the game was similar to a Globetrotters/Generals game. The US Goalie made 8 saves on 9 shots? Total?
  17. But you don't hate him right? The only hate around here is from the Miller lovers hating on poor Enroth
  18. But more importantly, will he still be helping me with what Cheese I should be buying?
  19. Disagree, i think it can make a big difference, but thats not to say that height means everything. Its just the natural talent/ability of the player has to make up for the lack of height. Smaller height means smaller equipment and smaller body area to cover the goal opening that has to be made up with speed, agility, flexibility, etc.
  20. This is basically what they were saying about the first womans game, they had the ability to blow out the team they were facing, but it appeared they held back in order to not rub it in and blow them out. Norway appeared to have been held in the game by some pretty good goaltending, and it appeared this game for team Canada was one where they were still trying to get used to playing with each other
  21. Remember, the US/Slovakia game was 1-0 after one period.......
  22. Exactly, outside of Buffalo, and latvia, the only people looking ofr a Latvian Jersey may be collectors of rare hockey jerseys. Not enough to make the demand great enough for Nike to produce many and for ice jerseys to carry them.
  23. This is only the round robin part, they can lose a game here and all it might effect is their seeding going into the quarter finals. Losing a game now will not eliminate a team from gold contention
