I have a question for everyone, it seems like there is alot of excitement over this new management team in place and alot of people here feeling that the have some great minds in place to turn this team around. My question is, besides being a great Sabre player and a fan favourite, what has Lafontaine done in a management position since he stopped playing to make people believe he is a great hockey mind or someone who can be in charge to turn this team around? I ask this seriously, he worked in the Islanders front office for a short time, but what did he do there that would make people believe he is someone who can turn a franchise around? -
Has he been the #2? I haven't been able to find any info on who their backup has been because Henrik has played every second for them he's from Sweeden, are they into Kinky Sex? I would have said he was injured while disassembling some of the IKEA furniture he brought with him for his room I see the opposite, I think it will be a tight close game, Canada will obviously give up one goal cause Price is in net (I say this wearing a Team Canada Price jersey right now)I think if they lose though, theres going to be a lot of questioning directed towards Crosby who seems to have disappeared. One question I have to ask, What type of reaction do you think Kessel and VanRymsdyk will get in the first game back in Toronto if they win this game and come back with Gold? Will the Fans in Toronto Boo them for beating Canada, or cheer on their Maple Leaf players for what they won?

SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME
apuszczalowski replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
Years ago maybe, but in the last year or 2 its much better compared to the nicotine flavoured stuff Timmys pours -
Mercedes and Canadian? Maybe if they are from toronto (well, moved to Toronto from somewhere else....)And the Canadian paid for the jeans, along with the new shoes they are wearing, the old ones were just ditched in the parking lot garbage cans so they don't hyave to declare them when they get back to the Border

SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME

Listening to the end of the game on the radio they said that it was a call that normally wouldn't get called but was called to even things out because it was OT, and because they were warned before about it.If there was a Gold medal awarded at the games for whinning/tantrums, the US would win it without any controversy, I'm sure of that ;) -

Definitely, If I want Coffee, I would take a McDonalds coffee over Timmies except for the next few weeks while the Roll-Up Cups are out. As for the Doughnuts, they aren't as good since the change to the "Par-Baked". I won't pass one up if I am offered one, but they used to be much better when they were actually 'Fresh baked' Starbucks serves Coffee??? Same here, I'm also still trying to figure out where he goes that he gets a $15 coffee ($0.75 x 20 = $15!!!) No one in the US or Canada remembers Soccer........... -
Oh man, thats the equivalent of being flipped off.......
-
Also throw in the fact that the players are playing on a completly different time schedule then they are normally used to. Being up drinking til 6am isn't that bad considering what 6am Russia is here, but then throw in that they are playing in a noon game our time, their bodies/time clocks have been thrown off

Usually most would say that it was the Strike years where Baseball lost most of its followers. It seems to have been the one sport that a strike negatively effected the fanbases (atleast from my view). Hockey seems to have bounced back, same with Basketball. Football I don't think even took a hit, although the last time they came close they only missed some of the offseason/training camp and missed no actual games
-
Just think, they have reached this point of the tournament with Crosby doing nothing for them. Hopefully he comes to play this game........ have fun Rooting for The Toronto Maple-Americans! CAN - A - DA! CAN - A - DA! CAN - A - DA!

SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME

The IIHF has a different explanation for what would be a penalty shot then the NHL, I believe it has to be that the player is either in a position or is in the process of shooting? -

Its not just in the video game........Problem is that aside from those guys, theres not much else on that team that could be considered better then what the Sabres currently have -
Not desperate, Dumb

As they should be, I would be furious to find out that they were out partying instead of focusing on the job they were sent there to do. They can do whatever they want when its over and they have no more games to play, but until then, they are not there to party and just have a good time, they are there to compete for their country. If they want to spend the time partying they could have opted out of playing and stayed home.

Your talking about Garth Snow here, You could probably trade them Moulson back for Tavares and the other 1st (the one they decide to keep)
-
Thats only to make sure you Americans understand what they were talking about Thats Prime Minister and Mayor of Toronto, Julian is the Gov. Generalits all Bacon
-
I doubt anyone is bringing him in to be the veteran leader/captain of their team so like you said, this shouldn't affect his value. It may affect his next contract slightly because a team could use it against him and say that they aren't going to pay him an extra million because he has not shown he is a leader
-
Why?Now they out tank the Sabres, get the #1 overall pick, draft Reinhart, get Tavares back for next season @100% plus some additional assets moving Vanek, actually make moves to get better for next year and not 10 years from now and end up in the playoffs next year when we would get their #1 pick in the early 20s. oh wait, Garth Snow is making the decisions, forget what I just said, they are screwed. He would probably trade away the Reinhart pick for some magic beans...........

Can anyone confirm that they actually showed up?
-
For the US, The Leafs have plenty of experience choking when everything is on the line. Just ask the bruins ;)
-
Was he even listed as the backup?

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
apuszczalowski replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Are you seriously saying Enroth is better then Halak? The Blues don't want Enroth, and I highly doubt they want to give up their future #1 to take on Miller The deal more then likely would be Miller for Halak and additional picks/prospects, with number and quality being determined on if they can sign Miller. The Blues have other good assets that they can use to acquire Miller and not have to include Allen. -
She might be available for order as your "bride" in one of those magazines/websites
