IMO, we have 4 contracts between our offense and defense that we're getting more production than what we're paying. That is an alarming thing.

When Darcy made that speech Hodgson lead our team in points with 44. 44. For an entire year. That team had to be gutted. I don't see any parallels to the speech Darcy gave and JBots message.

A prefab house goes up quicker but doesn't last as long, less quality and no customization. So it's get into the playoffs even though we'll never contend for a cup. Or wait on the playoffs, so we can have a multi year run at the cup. Pick what you want I suppose.

You'd have to take that up with Yost. I'm just merely pointing out what he said. His belief is that there's tradeable contracts that the Sabres should get out of. Sobotka, Hunwick and Scandella were mentioned with Sobotka being the "slam dunk" and that he'd trade him for sure. He said we should be looking for opportunities to displace these perennial under performing players in order to sign others that aren't.

I know Yost mainly used Sobotka but if I remember right he was talking about 5-6 guys under contract. They are trade-able contracts to just get out of them. I think Scandella is one of those that I'm not sure can be packaged to just get out of paying him next year.

I will never understand these type of comments. There's new people making the decisions, so they're not responsible for how long its been and all the other promises. So a portion of the fanbase (not necessarily you) that wants JBot to do what we want, or we won't go to games. Then we're just as fragile as the team itself. They are a reflection of us and then we get upset. He's not going to pander to the fans just to get them to come to games and he shouldn't. Build the team how you want JBot and those knuckleheads will come back when we're winning.

I'm indifferent. I think he's a poor puck handling defenseman and I think he turns the puck over far too much. However I do like that he gives us some physicality. Part of the problem is a little difficult for me to assign to him and I wouldn't create a hole to get rid of him. However I do think, if we're ever going to get to a point where we're good, he can't get top 4 minutes.

Where can we ever find a player like ROR for 7.5 mil with his offensive prowess? He's one of the most skilled players in the league and he's a natural leader.

He really does bring this team down. I mean his lack of effort, his bad temper, lack of leadership, can't play with others and salary. Boy I wish ROR was still here to lead this team and Jack was the one gone.

Our fanbase could use a little toughness too. We've gotten as soft as some claim the team is.

Eichel is showing me a lot of good things on and off the ice. He's a 22 year old kid, handling himself better than the questions by these middle aged knuckleheads asking them.

This contract situation worries me. I think I understand the importance of Skinner to the team and I also understand the crippling effect of overpaying players.

I haven't done any research yet but that's usually a good spot to get the first one drafted. I think we have to identify one for the future. I don't see Ullmark as the answer.

I see a goalie being drafted with the later first round pick.

If Pommers wants to continue playing, I'd have no issue bringing him back. At a much reduced number of course.

You can basically afford 2 or 3 top paying offensive contracts. If Skinner wants 9 mil or even north of that - I'm not sure JBot thinks he and Eichel are enough to compete with all the other duo's. It's not an easy decision. That Okposo contract is a real killer.

It'll be interesting to see how JBot gets treated around here if he decides not to sign Skinner. Which I think is very possible.
