We're dominating one of the worst teams in the NHL who is only 4 wins away from our total last year. Despite our slide, how can anyone think this season hasn't been a huge success?

You missed my point. I'm not talking about lately. There's not enough talent or veteran presence to afford Jack a horrible game. Rodriguez is scoring but this team isn't staying a float - it's drowning.

Yeah, I have to agree. Pretty uninspired hockey. That can't happen when you're the leader at this point in the season - good news is he knows that. It's a process to learn how to carry a team when there's really only 3-4 talented offensive players (now). There's no room for bad nights, unfortunately. It's a difficult spot to be in for a young man.

Certainly could be. I think this team gets hyped to play us. We invade their home rink and I know it bothers them.

Agreed on the PP. Yes he's been a streaky player but I think he's proven that he can be consistent with a top end center. That's what I meant by seeing his capability. Because of that, I'm not concerned with his recent lack of production.

So obviously this is directly related to his time with and without Eichel. At least we saw what Skinner is capable of. That should help him and us determine a value and hopefully sign him long term. I personally don't like taking Skinner away from Eichel because I believe it will ultimately fail.

I think Elie has skills. I like the way he skates and showed flashes of good puck handling. We're just not the type of team that can afford to give a player like him time with the first two lines - and I think he requires that in order to show any type of promise.
