  1. We can really use the player described below to show up. This is from a quick A.I. search. Key strengths include his exceptional and accurate shot, high-end stickhandling and puck protection, playmaking ability with deft passing, and high compete level with strong defensive commitment. He is a versatile, speedy winger who can drive play, get into high-danger areas, and has shown potential to be a significant two-way threat for the Buffalo Sabres, though he still needs to improve his strength to be consistently effective at the highest level. Offensive Strengths Skilled Shot: Possesses an unbelievable and accurate shot with a quick release, allowing him to score in various ways and from different positions. Playmaking and Vision: He has excellent vision and poise, making quick, intelligent passes to open teammates and showing a knack for setting up linemates. Stickhandling and Puck Control: Strong stickhandling and ability to protect the puck allow him to maneuver through traffic, deke defenders, and create opportunities in tight spaces. Speed and Skating: His speed, strong edges, and quick change of direction help him gain separation from defenders and drive to the net effectively.
  2. His potential is really interesting. I'm not sure he ever becomes a 70-80 point player but I think he's one of those players just below the known names that are extremely hard to find. My guess is he'll be one of those players that's so responsible, you need them to win.
  3. I'd put him at 2C and Tage back to 1C. I like the minutes at 2C better for him with his injury history. I think he's one of the more important players for us in terms of needing him to fill a void.
  4. I agree this is just about where I'd have him projected. If we take the last 17 games and his 5 assists that would average out to be approximately a 14% increase in production on his two year average. If we would project a 15-20% increase in production from that small sample, that puts him in the 12-14/25-26, 39-41 point range.
  5. This young man just plays the game right. The best way I know how to support that statement is to take a dig at myself. I know so little about hockey "fundamentals" or how to look at the off puck things or another words, seeing with my eyes that a player has high hockey IQ. Even I see it with Benson. I believe it's unlikely at this point that he doesn't become good. It would have to be injury driven, IMO, or something like that. When he gets more grow man strength, I think he's got a shot at being very good.
  6. I agree with this assessment. I don't really blame UPL, because I just don't think he's the type of talent that can year over year face a lot of high danger shots. Our team defense has sucked and we do easily allow the type of players that want to, get great position in front of the net. I think we have an opportunity to be better defensively because I like the additions. I really dislike our coaching and think they're the largest problem. UPL can also be a little better if the defense is. I just think that's the thing with him.
  7. I think I may have been thrown off by you using the word spectrum. I think we agree there's little doubt we should be more physical and harder to push around. The question mark, for me is, will they fill out the other definitions of being tougher. Will they play for each other, stand up for each other, protect a lead, go to the net, etc. I think they will and if they do, will more than make up for Pererka's goals.
  8. I don't think it's so much overused, it just has multiple applications and forms. I'm not sure I fully understand your couplings. I think we've improved the overall toughness of the team player for player, yes. It will be up to them to translate it into the other definitions. There's plenty to complain about but not making changes can't be one of them.
  9. I think we were a tougher team last year than the previous year. I expect to be even tougher this year (I'm not going to say those words, because I know they're nauseating). I feel like it's been quite some time since goals have been a huge issue. I believe we're 19th in goals over the last 5 years and 14th over the last 10. I believe we've been soft for a much longer time. I anticipate a team with more heart and grit and I think we're undervaluing the effects and importance of it. We've discussed being soft a lot but we're not talking a ton about that we're likely not now.
  10. IMO, I would have liked one more center added and have Kulich moved to 4th line center. Since we haven't I would not want Kulich as the top line center. I'd make the below adjustments before I let that happen. Benson Thompson Tuch Zucker Norris Quinn Greenway McLeod Doan Krebs Kulich Danforth
  11. Unconventional and not going to happen, but I'd like to see the below offense be given a shot at working. I'd like to find a combo that puts Power on the 3rd pairing until he earns moving up but I don't like he and Samuelsson as left shots together. Benson Thompson Tuch Quinn Norris Zucker Greenway McLeod Doan Danforth Kulich Krebs Dahlin Kesselring Byram Timmins Samuelsson Power Luukkonen Lyon Spares: Malenstyn, Jones
  12. In laws have a cabin at Snyder's Beach. Me and my friend are visiting Buffalo from Charlotte. Nothing like summer family time in Buffalo. We miss home for sure.
  13. No. Me, my wife and two boys live in Charlotte but we're visiting Buffalo. Having a great time. Her Dad has a spot on Snyder Beach and spent all day yesterday there for his 70th. My parents and siblings are in Cheektowaga and Alden, so spent today with them.
  14. You misunderstood. We experienced not having Cozens. I see what you're doing and I'd repeat me too. That's how wrong you were.
  15. That wouldn't be another change as we've already experienced that change. With rosters of 23, each new player is of at least some consequence.
  16. I don't think so, you've shifted the conversation multiple times. The off season isn't summed up as JJ out Kesselring in. You've admitted as such. So then you disagree with PF that the comparison is losing JJ for Kesselring.
  17. We already experienced not having Cozens and the metrics that I saw show we got better. His removal has already been at min partially consumed. We wouldn't have to attach Norris to his play from last year. It's much more logical and clean to compare Norris being added, to the loss of Peterka. It's the clearer one for one.
  18. You've been arguing against the very thing you just posted. Last years roster didn't include Norris, so let's factor that in with the loss of Pererka's production, etc. I knew you would agree in the end.
  19. I comprehend what you're saying as it relates to Norris vs Norris. To say the total team difference is losing JJ for Kesselring isn't accurate - factoring in Norris is 100% part of the discussion.
  20. Half a year is a pretty tough prediction and definitely is pessimistic. Even if half a year happens, you don't think he'll score any goals?
  21. Wouldn't Peterka also be part of that battle cry, yet now we have to count every one of his goals missing from the total? So you think Norris will perform about the same for the Sabres as he did last year?
  22. I think you're getting confused. This wasn't a response to the gif, it was to your humorless post @7+6=13.
