While I hated Schoenfeld, the most overrated player in Sabres history, it's pretty funny that 2 of the 3 here lamenting his trade spelled his name incorrectly.

I thought the thread title said Cliff Clavin at first.

A few weeks ago, I stated that even if the Sabres didn’t make the playoffs, if they could get to 85 to 90 points, it would be a good season that I’d be happy with. Well, they beat it by one point, with 42 wins.
I say that it was a very good season, increasing expectations for next season.

well yeah its why I said Islander don't need to loose, pens and panthers are the ones that need to stick at 92 or lower.
As impressive as these 2 wins over Carolina and the Rangers have been to stay alive, the loss to Florida looms bigger.

Well, I’ve now won three in a row but it’s too late. Guess I can continue to play the role of spoiler.

He can thank me. I had temporarily added him to a fantasy team, then dropped him to activate a returning injured player right before he went on this point barrage.

It was a case of overanalysis. CircleTheWagons had made his weekly lineup selections earlier in the week, which include James Conner in the flex position. Then on Saturday night, he decides to take one last look. Review of Yahoo comments like “Conner looked good in his last game but now faces the tough Rams defense” and “Jerry Jeudy has topped 50 receiving yards in 5 straight games”, as well as Yahoo grading Jeudy’s potential with 3 stars vs Conner’s two stars led to the change, inserting Jeudy in for Conners.
Lo and behold, Jeudy gets knocked out of the game with an injury, scoring ZERO pts, while Conner scores 2 TDs and 23.60 points.
Result: Loss

With the Sabres headed out West, I thought I’d point out that this is the 6th consecutive full season that the NHL schedule makers send them out for a West Coast trip in October. WTF!
They say sometimes teams bond better on a long trip but c’mon. For an organization that’s missed the playoffs an NHL record 11 straight seasons, how about give this young team a chance to build some early momentum with a better schedule?!

Now, that sucked. I had a huge lead going into Monday and Scott’s Tot’s get 4 TD passes from Mahomes to Kelce for 64 fantasy points to win by 6 pts! Ugh!

There was someone in last year with a member name of Let’s Go B-Lo. That member name no longer exists here, so not sure who that is.
These are the owners that were in last year. If you are in again this year, let me know and go to league page to join.

Did you know the season starts on the 7th with San Jose and Nashville playing in the Czech Republic?

The Bills win on Monday was even more enjoyable with Diggs and the Bills defense playing so well, leading my team to victory.

The last time I played, I thought I had a stacked team, but between bad timing with the bye weeks and injuries, I had next to no bench and it tanked my season. This year I took a more balanced approach so I at least have some reliable players in a pinch, at the expense of top loading.
I really though JA was going to make it to round 2, but I should have known better 😂🤣. I had so many players lined up that went right before me
I’ve done several drafts and Josh never made it past 5.

Which league are we talking about?
I still see 11 teams and no draft scheduled for the Royal league.

The Royal league is all set up. We’re just short one team and need to draft.
Wait. Dak dat ass up is listed under league members, from last season, but isn’t part of the schedule. ????
So, there are only 11 teams. Yahoo doesn’t let you have an odd number of teams.
There was also a prior mention of using Keepers but no details. At this point, I’d say forget Keepers and just draft.

Has anyone else watched For All Mankind? Just watched the first season.
I think it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I can’t believe it won few awards. Maybe you have to be a certain age (which I am likely past) to have interest in the Apollo moon program.

I’ve always been very good at math but I don’t get these statistics the analytics folks come up with. Those for baseball are even worse.

Is Tokarski next on the priority list? The goaltending sucked but let’s bring them all back.

This has been spoken too multiple times by tons of posters. Bishop is on LTIR, he will never play again in the NHL. All we did was trade for a caphit on paper, Bishop was never going to set foot in Buffalo unless he had to to verify the LTIR part of it. It was and will always be a transaction on paper only in which we get to add 4.9 million to our cap. Now we never need to think about Bishop again, he's simply a piece of paper that says we have 4.9mil added to the cap.
It’s kind of pathetic that they do deals like this instead of actually paying for a decent player to win games.

I was laid off a few years ago, in my late 50s, with nearly 20 years of experience in the Software QA field. When I had no nibbles in 6 months, I decided to retire. My resume was tailored to only reflect that recent experience so they possibly figured I was at least in my mid 40s. That field generally looks for younger people privy to the new technologies.
