Error by the 3rd baseman?
-
Honestly after year of ups and mostly downs for our goaltending trio... I honestly think our chances are better with the unkown. If the lockerroom is bothered by this decision then they should of played better and not let us be in this position to begin with. I doubt this move is causing lockeroon issues. the trio ***** the bed after the Allstar break (along with most of the team) and down the final stretch. I just have little confidence in them and would rather take the chances with Levi. Hopefully some spectacular G work can inspire the team to do the improbable Whether Levi is really ready to go and provide that spark is a question we are waiting to have answered.

Some Fancy Stats Comparisons from the past two seasons
ddaryl replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I agree... I kind of lump Goaltending into the defense with my comment..... but yeah the Gs have mostly been a let down Hopefully the answer is here with Levi, but we need to upgrade our Gs. UPL is not happening, he is what he is. Woefully incosistent and I don't think at this point he is fixable... Cromrie doesn't look like a keeper either -

offensively we ticked up a bunch defensively we regressed SO at the cost of a more potent offense we took a big step backwards I know we need a top 4 D-man, and some improvements at 7-8 D-Man, but I really feel our forwards 2 way game is hurting us a bunch -
the day has come, remember the day, this is when everything changes

GDT: Dallas @ Sabres - Mar. 9, 2023, 7:00pm, MSG, ESPN+, & WGR
ddaryl replied to WhenWillItEnd66's topic in The Aud Club
I think the wheel has fallen off for the Sabres.... Goaltending and the ability to play team defense just has not materialize for the stretch run. -
Sure seems like half of the league is gutting its pipeline for the win now mentality. For many of these teams it will come home to roost.... IF the Sabres can continue to improve there all around game while continuing to lock up the core we could be peaking while many of those spend now teams start decending into the valley of retool/rebuild

I'd have to hear what Arizona turned down from the Sabres before I judge not getting Chychrun. I'm neither upset or happy about this.

This is not well known but TWITTER IS FOR TWITS!!! for every dozen Sabres fans who are grounded in rational thought and don't over react on every whim they have, you will have one over zealous loud mouth who has to be heard and is incapable of rational thought and/or discussion. That same loud mouth is also incapable of saying what they needed to say and just letting it go This is true for every single sports team on the planet.

Jeff Marek believes Portillo will test free agency.
ddaryl replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
well then let me up the ante.. you get drafted you sign with that team... if you do not get drafted then your a FA but you must enter the draft to become a pro in the NHL and earn your right to be a UFA by doing your time in the league 1st, or by being passed up by all the teams in the draft you entered... -

I am not a fan of the UFA for college players if they refused to sign As far as I'm cocnerned you were drafted you sign with the team that drafted you, if your unhappy demand a trade... but I will always be in the the teams who drafts you gets to sign you column and NO UFA for those players. You don't like it play in Europe or Russia. If you want to be a UFA do your time in the league, not college. People may disagree with me, but I will never change my view on this one ... -

Is Tage Thompson a top 10 NHL player? Is he top 5?
ddaryl replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
That would be awesome because I'm confident the other 4 players on the ice will make the opposing team pay dearly. You shift coverage on a PK the rest of Sabres would have much more room they could take advantage of -
Got to watch the entrie game last night... Great 1st period, Where did that team go in the 2nd period ? And they didn't wake up it seemed like till they fell behind in the 3rd Forecheck seems pretty ferocious at times, Tage is amazing with his ability to be patient when there are defenders swarming around him in front of the net, that OT goal was a sight to behold.... again When was the last time we had a winning record in January ?

Is Devon Levi Trying to Force His Way Home?
ddaryl replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
Montreal would have to mortgage the entire farm to get Levi from us Or Levi will have to stay in college for (I believe) 2 more years and become a UFA This thought process has been brought up by Montreal fans for months now... No way we are trading him for anything less then the farm -
This team is the highest scoring team in the NHL I think we need to go In a different direction

Chychrun vs Demko; Defense vs Goaltender - Where Should KA invest?
ddaryl replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
G will have to come in the offseason. Nobody is giving up a #1 or #2 G mid season. D at trade deadline but they will go to teams in the playoffs who give up major assets. We need a major overhaul to the G department which includes drafting another one early and shoring up the pipeline We do need some D upgrades but those should be available if we are looking for a 3/4 D type player... Still won't be cheap. As for whom we chose, I haven't a clue
