  1. Well when we get to that point a few somebodies will have risen to that status.... If we never get there then obviously nobody did But I believe we have multiple candidate's that will rise to that occasion in due time...
  2. Lots of teams need to become cap compliant so I can see us making some moves Lots of teams need to become cap compliant so I can see us making some moves
  3. 1.) Goaltending will be marginally better this year. Comrie proves he may be a keeper 2.) Power, Dahlin Samuelson (Sabres D core) prove to be all that and get accolades from the press 3.) Sabres will be in the hunt for a playoff spot come March, it will be close but they miss by a few points 4.) Tage will do well again this year 35 G 40 A, but does not surpass 40 G
  4. I expects we will be taking on a few salary dumps for extra assets. There are few teams that have to get their house in order, will be interesting to see how this plays out from now to season begin. https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/cap/
  5. The more I listen to the Kid talk, and the more I watch him play, the more excited I get for his eventual presence in Buffalo.
  6. Some feedback out of development camp https://thehockeywriters.com/sabres-2022-development-camp-standouts/ Can't wait to hear more Other info in that article points to how our top D prospects look good. Power Samuelson and Johnson looked real good, but everyone else was a ho-hum Pretty obvious why we picked up a bunch of D players in FA to play in Rochester if this report is true
  7. I think both franchise's are gonna end up in the futility zone. Depleted pipeline, traded draft picks, bad cap economics. They both may chase mediocrity for awhile more, but eventually the tear down and rebuild has to happen. I believe we will see 1/2 dozen teams follow a similar path... Chicago literally ripped the band-aid off, so their rebuild will be interesting to watch
  8. UPL can get a call up and then return to Rochester without going through Waivers ? I could see 35/25/22 kind of split between the 3.
  9. I don't think those teams did anything really special. Buffalo has a young core that's getting better. Ottawa and Detroit brought in some players that may become a part of their core but I fail to see how a few FA's are going to propel them much. I think our young team makes an equal jump from experience that matches those teams FA pickups. Time will tell but the whole Detroit / Ottawa fascination here doesn't even phase me a little bit. We have a deep pipeline with talented players and I expect the trend to continue upward and matching the abilities of FA's acquired by sed teams
  10. Then we are no worse then last year, and all the team itself showed growth and will continue to grow. If we do nothing at all, notta, zip, zilcho, I still expect the sabres to be better than they were last year, and to show more growth.
  11. NO The plan would be to let the top FA's get overpaid drying up the well of teams who will overpay, and to find players who are a good match in FA without having to over spend to get them to come here What doesn't work "splendidly" is trying to shoe horn in top FA's for a team that is more than 1 or 2 top FA's from winning a cup
  12. You can't blame him for wanting some years. just looked at his contract history, he's never had a deal more than 3 years, and that was his entry level contract. Now is it possible to sign a player in the NHL with incentives. If we go for a FA G, but don't want to over commit can we add clauses that add $1 million if sed G has a .500 or better record, and another $1 million if we make the playoffs, and maybe further incentives that gets a Goalie paid but doesn't over commit our hand? Just thinking outside the box and be creative to attract a FA G
  13. I agree with adding FA's that fit the team.... What I don't agree with, and I didn't word it right, is going after top FA's that will be overpaid with term or older FA's that don't fit a short time period I believe that being patient can bring a couple of FA's that will be good fits. But trying to bring in multiple pieces to make us a cup contender this year is a fools move
  14. I don't trust Russia or players from Russia who would go back to Russia given the situation. I'm a hard pass till round 3.
  15. Then I would stay away from them in 1st few rounds and treat them as a lottery card. But do they really have to go back? They could "defect" and stay here...
  16. But will they return to mother Russia If they stay in NA then that would eliminate most all concerns outside of health issues for Miso
  17. FA should not be used to build a team, it should be used to find a final piece or 2 when that teams proves to be a contender but not to load a roster.
  18. Money for FA's is going to dry up quickly. Leaving a lot of good players fighting for the scraps left over. I think patience will be key here, plus anything we can pick up along side of helping teams with their salary cap issues
  19. A few losing season most fans can endure.. We had a real long stench of bad hockey. Spending a couple $100 to watch a game of subpar hockey is hard to justify for any fan.
  20. We didn't suck late last season, we were playing our best hockey in a long time. We're trending in the right direction, so I guess I'm not on the suck bandwagon. I fully expect the team to keep trending positively.
  21. This is true, which means patience comes into play. Something many around here have run out of, but if we want solid players at solid value we may have to let FA play out some.
  22. So with the similar goaltending as last year you expect this team to get worse ?
  23. It was voted on by Hockey Fans, not just Sabres fans. So the league seems to agree.
