Naw, thats a bad point. Either it hurts your team or not. I searched for them BECAUSE they were the top four teams in the league. If I go and find one for literally every team do you get to draw the line of "Well they're good so they can do it." or "Well see, thats why they were bad"? What if I find one for a team who was bad the year before but then was good that year? That one from the caps is from 2017, who went out in the second round the year before; did they 'earn' that break? Or was it retroactively ok because they won later? I'm not even saying you're ABSOLUTELY wrong. Maybe something happens in that last practice that really puts them over the edge. Or maybe something happens on the bonding trip that gels them as teammates. There's no way to know. Worrying about it, calling them soft, and saying "I CAN'T BELIEVE NOONE ELSE IS UPSET ABOUT THIS" is wayyyyy over reacting.

1) That misconstruing my point, 1 less practice over the 10 months that these guys play is a rounding error, instead of 1 a week. 2) It might actually BE beneficial to practice less. The NFL cut down on practice days by 1 every week after the last CBA negotiations, along with significantly cutting down on required training camp time, and eliminating 2-a-days. I didn't notice the skill level of the NFL take a hard nose dive.

If this team sucks this year it will have absolutely nothing to do with one less practice.

I agree with this in principle, but the News was bleeding itself far before the Athletic came into play. The articles there have been sub-par for about a decade now. Their coverage is spotty and old fashioned, relying heavily on old timers opinion peices. By the time they got around to trying to change that it was too late. The fact that THAT many of their good writers and editors took the voluntary buy out tells you that the culture there was pretty bad. If you want to support the local press I understand where you're coming from, but I stopped my subscription well before the Athletic was a thing. Really, I'm waiting for a "news" version of the Athletic to pop up at this point. Its only a matter of time seeing the success they've had.

I don't think company policy gets to cover who my daughter sees in both of their personal time. Its not a business decision.
