Second to the definition and political connotation progressive tends to denote moving foward not back, so if Trump decides to do something new say level the tax code Id call that progressive, but leveling it alone is not inherently progressive, just our tax code is badly regressive for the middle class. Getting rid of tax shelters and loophole would help level it. Again, with the way Republicans and more to the point Trump manipulate words, using Progressive to move make the clock back on social issues is called regressive. So trying to call a regressive a progressive is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to coopt the word progressive when it is more appropriately regressive, especially in the current political lexicon. JJ I wouldnt label you as a right wing conservative, maybe an endangered moderate... :) but that is not a bad thing imo. Hey I wouldnt call me a progressive on certain issues either and down right conservative on others maybe because of how I differ from progressives on how I would accomplish similar goals. Political connotations I would agree are often changing and floating up in the ephemeral stratosphere. That being said, no way are you a progressive.
