Yeh I am mixed on Kane the hockey player. He seems to be working on passing more. His vision still stinks and awareness, but he is hard on forecheck and in corners and he know how to shoot. Im ok with his personality. Just not sure unless Sabres get a really good return for him.

Housley did say the new system was going to take time to implement. Only recently are we are seeing D jump up capably more consistently. While forwards are getting back better. Passing is still atrocious except Jack and Sam. And agree breakouts though better are still inconsistent at best. Add Ghule hopefully Dahlin and an improved Nelson and I could see the D being a lot better. Next year at forward is gonna be an issue unles 2-3 of the young guns step up. Pulliott needs to be gone Kane gone will help with passing and hopefully Ullmark steps up. Thats a lot off ifs so they may be better next year. But still a long way to go.

Screw Cluuterbuck, he desrved it with that elbow he threw. Clutterbuck is a cheap bastage. Simple slash retaliation... major hardly but it had to hurt... As my brothers and I use to say Charrrlie Horse.

Kid at least knows how to make an outlet pass unlike a few of our D.... As Phil said tape to tape. Positionally he has gotten a lot better though he could still stand to gain 20 lbs. Saw some toughness havent seen out of him before. Oh and he has a nice shot and can skate. Hope he keeps working on his D zone and improvingnphysically.

Especialky if said contract has only a year or two so said team can see if that player works, or can resign for the right price. FAs like Kane are going to demand big raises and make them less easy to resign. Not impossible but git gives a team less options.

Jet is intriguing, though I like Wilde’s D and physicality kinda like MCabe with offensive talent.

ah the phil haters are out. Again want to wait till next year mid season to eval him. New season, new system... needed to see how guys adjusted to new protocols or not and in what situations. Can we at least suspend this thread till after the first 20 games of the next season with some influx of talent and guys who have been in it awhile. I know its been a long time but until then think its still early in the teaching phase imo.

So if not Dahlin, you pick an offense with the first pick and go D with the second lower number 1. They take time to develop but will more likely be successful. Gonna need a D on Rochester to develop next year anyway as Ghule will be stepping up.

Playing better on D side except the normal gaffs that end up in the back of the net. Still cant score consistently even when they dominate opposing teams zone. Again need some shooters and more speed. Need more than 2 guys on each line capable of shooting and scoring.

We need a guy who is physical like Risto. But he needs a better passer to pair with than scandella. That being said they dont have a lot to pass to and need a second pairing to take off some more of those minutes.

. I think they have some that can work as evident by the power play and goalie pull. There just not enough to make up 2 full lines let alone 3 lines necessary to be successful. Yes Lehner sucks with the lack of talent on this team. These guys cant put the puck on the tape especially Risto lately. Antipin seems like the only guy who can pass and Nelson seems to be a lot better passing too. But the rest of the D have no touch. Forwards: Kane is an atrocious passer, same with Pulliot and Erod. These guys need to practice the weave and any other passing drills they can come up with.

That and Lehner may have finalky figured a few things out. He is playing a lot better recently.... hate throw the baby out with the bath water. Lets see if he reverts.
