The darn thing is, if there were only 12 teams... my guess is only half that top end talent would be available... guys like Matthews and some of the cali guys would never have gotten into hockey... others like Ovi and Dhalin would never have come to the states and would be playing in some international league in Russia or Europe... so the whole premise is faulty. How many top end talent would actually be there except guys from northern states and Canada??

Karrlson, Hedman, Doughty, Dahlin, one of the St Louis D... they have 3 that are close but different styles and probably MacAvoy cough cough a Bruin..
