GDT: 9/22/25--Buffalo Sabres @ Columbus Blue Jackets 7 PM TV: MSG

I agree they should move on from them as neither looks like an NHL regular. I’m just leery how the Sabres would accomplish it. I guess just pick the dumbest most senseless way and that’s what this team will do. -

Probably a low round pick or low level prospect would be the return -
I was today years old when I learned the term “score bug”. Sounds like another term for genital lice.

Definitely more interesting players than the Sabres projected roster. Geertsen might be worth the price of admission alone. -
Therein lies the problem. Fans cling to the potential of a player vs cashing in while that player’s value is at it’s highest. I too think Power will be a great NHL player. I just don’t think Buffalo, as a team, their fans and the overall mental health of the city can wait another 5 years before the needle moves with this team. They need to fix it today. Attendance will be abysmal this season. Maybe then Terry will finally get the kick in the ass to make real changes to this team.

Yep. See ya Owen and Jiri.

Honestly laying it out like this makes me sad. I’m relying more on Kesselring and Doan to change the culture here. I’m not confident that’s anywhere near enough. They still need to remove the cowards and bring in players with daddy issues. I want guys with an axe to grind and enjoy senseless violence.

They’ve done a better job the last 3 drafts. We still haven’t seen any of the fruits of that labor. Which is typical for mid level prospects. I suspect we’ll start seeing them next season if we aren’t counting the height challenged but plays big and aggressive Benson.

Which isn’t remotely close to why I posted this topic.

Albeit it was unintentional but this is the perfect description of the Sabres issues.

At least it’s interesting. It’s got Dalton Smith vibes but I’m looking forward to the discourse he’s going to create among the fanbase.

When you get to a certain age, it’s all you have to look forward to, amiright @PASabreFan?

Gonna be hard to lean on a guy who spends 40% of the season injured

NHL suspends players acquitted in 2018 sexual assault trial until Dec. 1
inkman replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
"And, in this case, while found not to have been criminal, the conduct of the players involved certainly did not meet that standard," the NHL statement read. It further stated that it took into account the fact that the players have been away from the game for 20 months in rendering the length of the suspensions.“ -
I’m certainly not suggesting he can or will. I’m mad at myself for even checking in on this site. This team has done nothing to warrant my attention.

I’m never going to find the reference but Owen did mention in an interview that he played physical when he was younger and got called for too many penalties due to his size. Not sure how true that is or if it’s worth noting.

Hopefully the DB injuries will force McDermott to use pressure. They have to get off the field. Players like Taron, Bernard and Milano can all be used to get pressure.

I do not agree about Rapp. His foot speed and recklessness are issues. He gets caught out of position and takes out teammates with friendly fire and will incur penalties for egregious hits. I like that type of player but this team can’t afford to have a player that keeps opponent’s drives alive with penalties and blown coverages. As far as Bishop is concerned, they drafted him in the 2nd round. He has to be a starter unless he’s a complete bust. I don’t think he’s proven anything either way yet, with injury and illness derailing most of his first two seasons to date. The 2nd CB spot is worrisome. With Tre and Max’s injuries, Dane Jackson or whoever isn’t going to cut it. Dorian Strong looks like a possible future solution but he’s not ready to start. They should trade for a starting CB immediately.

OT:Golisano donating $50M to what will become Golisano Children's Hospital.
inkman replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
This will be the third Children’s hospital he’s funded? I know Rochester and SW Florida already have Golisano’s Children Hospitals. -
As Perrault and Promo eluded to, the forwards need to be just as adept at defense as the defenseman. Based on the eye test, the forwards have done a much worse job than the defenseman at playing actual defense. It’s about being a team player and putting forth effort where little reward is offered. Playing sound D as a forward isn’t going to get you $7 million a season. Scoring 30 goals will though. Guess which path most of our forwards for the last decade have chosen. It’s why players like Zucker and Greenway stick out. They understand the job at both ends of the ice. Glad they were resigned. Glad the team is coveting more defensive minded forwards.

The NHL is always driven by short term cash grabs. The league consistently makes decisions that will eventually cost them. Whether it’s fans, credibility or even long term financial detriment, the NHL can’t get out of their own way.

I mean at least you put “boat” in there so people like me, who still view anchors as a good thing, get clarity.
