  1. I bet he suits up for a few Sabresganes this season. Might be a guy who makes sure you can’t take out of the lineup. We’ll see.
  2. He comes from good pedigree. His pops averaged 3 goals a season for 16 years. Dude must have been the booger sugar hook up or something. He’s was considered a defensive forward FWIW. Hard to fathom for someone taken 3rd overall.
  3. With such a common last name, who would have guessed
  4. Fake computer thingy says this: Jake Leschyshyn is a solid, two-way forward known for his strong work ethic and defensive play. He's considered a potential bottom-six NHL player, with some projection to a top-six role, and is strong in his own end. Ok I guess
  5. Just when I thought the team couldn’t get any lower, I listen to Clifton. This team is rotten to its core and it starts from the top. Everyone knows they do not need to be accountable so it’s just mail it in season for everyone involved. Depressing but the story is unfolding and the problem starts at the top.
  6. Beane seem to hit the draft with an ax to grind concerning DT. I think Ogunjobi pissed him off as he didn’t disclose his PED issue. (Hoecht did disclose his issue)
  7. Nothing will incite uncontrollable rage like being married. Maybe this is the year Owen gets that ballyhooed mean streak that fans have been clamoring for.
  8. If the offseason moves are complete, it’s hard to not feel Charlie Browned. We were blood thirsty for an overhaul. Get rid of everyone. I was a part of it. Maybe at the forefront. We should have know once Kevyn was back and Bryson was resigned, the template was set. Trim payroll, give the appearance of forward momentum, give us plebes some hope. We know the drill now. The team is in an endless loop of cost cutting and status quo. It’s just hard to swallow. Well, not for @thorny. 😀
  9. Since I can’t see your posts @Thorny I never meant any hard feelings. My post was directed at WGR and Sabres twitter. It probably didn’t seem that way. Apologies.
  10. No need I stopped caring halfway through my last post. FWIW, I’m usually drunk or high or both when I post. Just ignore my stupid ass and you’ll be fine. As a matter of fact. Put me on ignore. Actually, I’ll do you one better. I’ll put you back on my ignore list.
  11. You may have independently had those ideas. The media has, in concert with your thoughts, pushed their narrative. Honestly, I can’t remember when or where the swap Byram for offense ideology started. It could have been in this forum by you. Hope you feel more respected now. 🤷‍♂️
  12. Hopefully he doesn’t Slide a Long Way Down to find any Black Balloons.
  13. Y’all were told the only successful course of action was trading Byram for offense. Which could still happen. Unfortunately, WGR and Sabres Twitter mandated that it was the only path to success. Now, just like the WR situation with the Bills, things took a turn in a different direction and we are calling it a failure based on predetermined expectations set by outside influences.
  14. There are teams that still need to do cap gymnastics and some teams may be tanking. The opportunity is still there. The blue line does look great 1-5.
  15. I mean career trajectory, probably but these two couldn’t be much more different. Mancari reminded me of a guy who’d slam 15 beers at night choke down a bunch of heaters and be back at it at the rink the next day as he had some sweet mitts with no foot speed. Rosen has all the tools but is probably not quite good enough to be an NHLer.
  16. I think it’s just semantics as the same players who work hard and are more aggressive on the ice, are the same players that play more physical and are more intimidating. Whether or not they retrieve pucks due to their aggressive style or players like Jack Quinn or Owen Power heed caution as they anticipate some type of physical interaction with those types of players, only they know for sure. Based on the eye test, I see an abundance of caution when faced with any resistance on the ice.
  17. To the bolded, did it? Kesselring, Doan, Danforth and Timmons are decent players but I don’t know if it’s the culmination of an organization’s offseason philosophy. They brought in a handful of players that play more like actual NHL players than the guys they replaced. Not sure if it moves the needle much overall. Real change would be moving Power in a Turgeon/LaFontaine type swap. Get another highly touted player in return. If you want to look a defenseman trades, think Pronger for Shanahan. I like Owen Power but I think the team needs their version of Tkachuk or Bennett. Get that nasty power forward leader. As far as the rest of roster, it’s inexplicable that Samuelsson wasn’t bought out (it screams cash poor franchise), and Bryson was resigned (because he likes being here despite the diminished role). We have Ryan Johnson for that who is absolutely a better NHL player than Jacob. Even without the Power move, getting Bryson & Mattias out of Buffalo should have been a priority. Instead of prioritizing getting good hockey players, Adams is working with a different agenda. One that MUST incorporate finances (like avoiding buyouts) or guys that want to be here (so what if they are garbage like Bryson). The team still needs more snarl. They’ll still get pushed around even if god forbid Mason Geertsen is somehow are part of the roster. They need at least one, preferable two crease clearing D and another forward that plays hockey and enjoys the physical aspect of the game. I seem to recall the org’s insistence on paving the way with skill over Braun. Unfortunately the rest of the league didn’t. Physical intimidation is still a large part of sports and life. Guys that are bigger, tougher and meaner than you are going to have an easier time retrieving that puck out of the corner because our skill guys are too worried about getting their heads put through the boards.
  18. I think Doan is going to play higher in the lineup than most of us predict. For better or worse, what he brings the Sabres have an absolute dearth of. Tenacious forechecker, solid D, net front presence. Tuch and Benson are the only guys on the roster that resemble it even a little. Put Doan in the top 6, watch the wins unfold right before our eyes. Or something like that.
  19. Quite frankly the only savings grace we have with Mattias is that he’ll miss 40-80% of the games.
  20. “If” Samuelsson gets hurt. 🤣
  21. I mean I’ve heard worse reasons to draft a player

  23. Dude I have cooked 10 billion brain cells at this point. My ingestion of brain killing substances far outweighs any ability I have to recreate them. My favorite inkman story is hanging with one of my high school buds a few years back. Tons of booze and weed, I lost 8hours of my life that night. No recollection, no anything. I was jacked up but not to the point where I shouldn’t have any memory of the night but whatever cumulative effect those substances have resounded quite proficiently that night. I hung out with my next door neighbor for 6 hours. He said I didn’t even seem drunk or high. The whole night gonzo. Now if I can just forget the last 40 years of my life, I’ll be all set.
