  1. Just keeping adding to the deal until they can’t say no. Byram, Quinn, any of the prospects or picks. Just do it.
  2. There is a precipitous drop off after the top 10. I suppose that’s fairly standard but it’s a massive cliff.
  3. As if the city of Rochester did something wrong
  4. I love infrequent posters. We need fresh ideas in here. It’s turned into an ugly echo chamber. I mean how could it not with the current state of the team but nonetheless always appreciate different voices in here.
  5. I’ve waited my entire life to have Dryballs
  6. Honestly, I’d have zero issue if our D was made up of Trouba, Ekblad, Gudas. Yeah two of them aren’t great but Power needs to be let loose offensively and let some murderous psychopath take care of the D zone issues.
  7. The last thing we need is another Tyler Myers who wasn’t naturally physical but knew he had to be to stay in the league. He would just spas out and commit a penalty rather than playing the body in a natural way.
  8. Eh it all depends on goaltending. If they get some quality play, they will get a sniff of the playoffs.
  9. Not to mention he’s a local kid. Not that I need a team of Buffalo born and raised but it’s a nice complement making inroads into the community. Adams is operating at a level only he and Pegula understand.
  10. Right. Neither of the guys manning the 7/8 s are that good either. Pretty typical bottom of the roster D. So why not employ someone that brings other things to the table, i.e. toughness and size. Adams might not just be bad at his job but he might also be dense as ***** lead. I don’t criticize him as much as most do in this forum but it’s not for a lack a disdain, I’m just exhausted on the topic. This dude might be painfully stupid. It would be so easy to assemble a team this city would adore. Cater to their foundation. Get hard working, tough players. Of course you need talent. We already have Dahlin, Tage, Tuch, so fill out the roster with toughness. Stop jettisoning players like Will Borgen and Brendon Hagel. Value players with those skills. This isn’t rocket science. Build a team the community can get behind. The garbage that has patrolled the ice the last decade and a half is pathetic. You got your top of the roster players, stop employing Samuelsson and Quinn. Put actual men in those roles. My lord it isn’t that hard.
  11. Dahlin & Kesselring can’t be the torch holders for the D’s toughness. Did everyone forget the revelation Gilbert was last season? A physical defenseman that cleared the crease, played to body and dropped the gloves. Instead we resigned Jacob Bryson and signed Zac Jones. I just don’t understand what Adams is doing. Your were a bottom of the roster plug. He should understand as much as anyone what value having toughness brings to a hockey team. Instead we get 5’9” players that aren’t good a hockey not to mention all the 6’5”+ players the Sabres have that don’t touch anyone.
  12. Complete with a Lindy Ruff mention about liking Geertsen’s toughness. So whoever said he had no NHL games was wrong. Not that 25 games is anything to sneeze at but at least he’s been in the show. Now they still need to find actual hockey players that understand the code. They got a little closer with Kesselring and Doan but they still need more than Tuch in the top 6 that can handle themselves when push comes to shove.
  13. He’s for the Amerks, so our prospects can play with a little more confidence that they won’t get KO’d if they engage the opponent. Vsevolod Komorov, I’m looking at you.
  14. I ain’t clicking on it. I refuse to give that website any traffic. ***** them.
  15. Listing the players out like this really highlights the issue. Power and Samuelsson. You can’t have two 6’5”+ defenseman that don’t touch anyone, especially in Mattias case where he brings no offense or puck moving ability. What is he good at? ***** if I know. The offseason should have been about finding an Elite more established, physical player to swap for Power, instead we are looking to move Byram, a player who does occasionally hit people.
  16. There probably is something to this. It’s the same as any workplace I suppose. If management isn’t fully committed, why the hell should the employees (players) express that level of commitment. This is depressing…
  17. In order to have a pack mentality, you need a pack. I haven’t gotten the feeling these guys are a pack. They are more like a flock looking for their shepherd. They needed to draft and develop guys with that mentality. They didn’t for far too long. They have made some improvements but it still feels like they are leaning toward a skill lineup. You need players that do have that pack mentality. I don’t really see it with the current roster. Kesselring and Doan are a slight improvement in that direction but I still feel there are too many players like Quinn & Samuelsson, who play as if physical contact is a foreign concept.
  18. Understood. I guess I’d need to know what all the options were to understand if Adams has any idea what he’s doing.
