I think this is a pretty good indictment of his play and fully validates what I've seen from him on the ice. These stats indicate a problem with desire in my book, which results in the kind of inconsistent play we've seen from him. There is no reason for someone that fast and strong to be so weak in the puck possession department. He just doesn't want it bad enough, often enough. GO SABRES!!!

What will your wife say is the strangest place you ever had whoopee? "Debinitely in the butt, Bob!"

I don't know. This 10 goal outburst the last two games just may serve notice that the offensive juggernaut known as the Buffalo Sabres is no longer a force to be trifled with. GO SABRES!!!

I think Steward, Mitchell, and Neuvirth won't return from FLA. Hackett still has to get his 8 games in or we risk losing him to FAgency. March promises to be every bit as bad as our January. Ennis and Moulson are keepers. GO SABRES!!!

We had talks with SF regarding Smith and would have liked to trade for him, but KC offered a much better draft choice in return. GO BILLS!!!

As I mentioned, Mr. Wilson and later Littman, imposed a strict budgetary line and as one of the earlier teams (along with Pittsburgh, Green Bay, KC, and Cinci) to adopt a cash to cap accounting method, I could argue it took even more creativity to manage the cap within those constraints. The impression that it was Overdorf that got to decide is what I alluded to previously; people gave him too much credit in that area. It was never Overdorf's number to begin with. And it isn't now. But he isn't subject to the same strict constraints as before. At any rate, knowing how fluid the cap is and how much current planning factors into future impacts, teams need an Overdorf. Most do and I know we could do much worse. It's easy for me to understand why he has long been viewed as an asset in that regard. And, also contrary to public opinion, he was always well-liked in the building. GO BILLS!!!

Thanks for the Russian translation of my moniker. I just may use it. GO SABRES!!!

They were working on Orton the moment he "retired" and spent most of training camp trying to get him signed. Orton decided to wait as long as he did to maximize his leverage with the Bills and others who were courting him. Don't sweat Overdorf as a "negotiator" too much. He's our capologist, and a damned good one at that. Nothing he does in the process should be considered "meddlesome" nor does he have any type of veto powers when it comes to player acquisitions. He's there to make sure the language is right and the numbers fit the salary structures in place. He is no longer bound by the same previous budgetary constraints but that doesn't mean there aren't certain limits within various position groups, etc. I get that he's viewed as somehow joined to the hip of Littman and the old regime, but even then he was given too much credit for having more say than he did. He was given a far stricter budget in the past and expected to toe that line. The Pegulas aren't committed to that hard number which gives him more leeway, but the cap is a very dynamic aspect that needs to be managed several years in advance. Overdorf is a big asset in that regard. GO BILLS!!!

I feel terrible for the kid. Knowing the kind of rare heart he plays with, it was almost tragic watching him flail on the ice. Like a thoroughbred coming up lame. Hope he comes back strong. GO SABRES!!!

"What's your name again?" "Saul." "What?" "'Saul good." I got taken in twice by Jimmy's scams in ep. 4. I should have known better considering how often Gilligan did that in 'BB', but damn, that's what makes his shows a fun ride. 4 for 4 and counting.

Who care's how much he can bench, I hope for Eleven's sake that he can do at least one pull-up. GO SABRES!!!

Bogosian is twice the defenseman Myers is and that much harder to play against, which is what this team needs on the back end. In his first game as a Sabre, Bogo registered 1/4 of Myers' hit total on the entire season. In one game! Yes, in the short term we will miss Myers' offensive prowess but given how streaky that is and that we still have young defensemen that can develop that aspect, I'm not sure how much we'll miss that moving forward. GO SABRES!!!

3 for 3. Mike starting to come to the fore a bit.

And he is ready to take it. GO SABRES!!!

The one time Jeremy Roenick said something we can agree with. In discussing the trade, he said Bogo was a "big defensemen who also plays big...Myers wasn't always that guy." This dovetails what Murray said about him being hard to play against. It's all stuff we already knew about Bogo, but it was nice to see it exemplified tonight. GO SABRES!!!

I really miss having offensively skilled players. GO SABRES!!!

Does nothing to temper my expert analysis of Bogo's defensive superiority to Myers. But we already knew that he was better defensively, anyway, so I'm not really surprised at how emphatically he's proving that at the moment. GO SABRES!!!

No need to wait. He showed more defensive prowess in that one period than Myers did in his entire time here. GO SABRES!!!
