  1. Perhaps. How about his sexual assault of a woman while out playing golf with the boys? Or is rubbing your golf club against a women's ###### just a bunch of men playing a game, too? Maybe he just should have stopped at dry humping her but got carried away. He and the Dolphins made that little episode disappear before it gained more traction. EDIT: guess we can't use correct anatomical language for a woman's private area. wouldn't want anyone to think I was being crass.
  2. Don't like the RI signing in the least. He's a douche nozzle of the highest order and he was long before the bullschit with J. Martin and the 'Phins. That made him look like a Boy Scout compared to his other crap. Hope someone else beats him out for the job. GO BILLS!!!
  3. Massare purported to be related to Littman. Not sure how he would have a conduit into the team currently as Littman hasn't been part of the organization since the sale. Massare was one of the first to suggest the Pegulas had the inside track back in May, iirc, but that wasn't much of a stretch anyway. GO BILLS!!!
  4. I remember that series. Bert was on fire with those two guys. Never better. 9 points in four games before getting hurt. 'The Dream Line' indeed! GO SABRES!!!
  5. Thanks, "Gem"chz, this was a stroll down memory lane. In keeping with that spirit of nostalgia, I thought I'd link a 'Legends of Hockey' piece on Gilbert. Nearly brought a tear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXhVsl1XOgg GO SABRES!!!
  6. Don't you mean you can't "lose" them all? Or is this the Carrion Hockey League bizzaro reference? GO SABRES!!!
  7. I don't think the Pats* cheating had anything to do with Butler's great play. That play is where preparation meets lazy route running by Lockette, who's poor execution of that simple pattern made it too easy to jump the route. The play itself was there to be made as Wilson had 2 on 2 coverage with the Pats* defending run first and all kinds of space as a result; the exact look Wilson would like to see. The problem was that Lockette screwed the pooch by turning his chin inward too soon. On that particular route, he has to open his outside shoulder BEFORE turning his head inside to at least make the DB think a fade is possible. But as soon as he turned his chin first, Butler went right to the spot and beat Lockette to the ball. Just a lazy play by the receiver. While I don't like that Bevell called him out publicly, Lockette needs to do a better job there. None of that takes away from the GREAT play by Butler, though. GO BILLS!!!
  8. Not sure you can really gauge a player's talent when he's asleep. Then again, Murray is crafty. GO SABRES!!!
  9. I never thought Dom had anything to atone for. He gave everything he had to the team and fans every time he stepped on the ice. The same can't be said for the team giving him everything. I fully understood why he wanted to go get a cup and I was really happy for him when he won it. Not sure why every fan wouldn't feel the same. And that million dollars he gave upon his departure should have trumped everything anyway. I was embarrassed that fans had the gall to boo him when he returned as a Redwing. Classless reaction by a jaded fan base. GO BILLS!!!
  10. Was Dom's ceremony for him or the fans?
  11. I loved it when a fan yelled, "NO GOAL!" Best part of the ceremony. As to the rest of it, I suspect Dom had a say in the production value. GO SABRES!!!
  12. Not enough mention of the brave Muslim employee at the Jewish deli in Paris. He hid six customers in a freezer, two children among them, turned it off, and was able to get out to give police valuable information about what was happening inside. The man's a hero. And it's nice to be reminded that heroes come in all different forms.
  13. I keep thinking about GoDD's joke about Kim wearing sandals at the interview. GO BILLS!!!
  14. Unless Flacco chose that play at the LOS (and I can see why he liked what he saw), I think Kubiak would like that 3rd down INT back. Minute and a half to go, you're inside their 40 with two timeouts, you have your entire playbook at your disposal. There was no need to go for the big play there. Especially because a TD puts you up 3 but there's still a minute and half for Brady to get Gostkowski in range for the tying FG anyway. I like the courage, especially when Flacco is staring a single safety in the face, but there was just no need to get greedy at that point. Friggin' NE*. GO BILLS!!!
  15. The US not using ME oil is quite different from American, British, Dutch, French, and other companies not using ME oil. They pump, refine, and profit from ME oil just fine, regardless. This will never change.
  16. Big oil and big finance will never let that happen. Even during all those years when our government conferred rogue status on Iran, for example, big oil and finance was still allowed to prosper by their dealings in that nation. There are just too many entrenched American, British, Dutch, French and other interests in those countries and has been for well over 100 years. Additionally, I'm not convinced that the revenues ISIS derives from black market oil sales couldn't be stopped tomorrow if big money interests weren't benefiting by those transactions.
  17. Any criticism of Brandon's involvement on the football side since 2008 is certainly fair game for criticism. But there is simply no denying the positive impact he's had on bottom line performance since he was hired in '97. The Toronto series that netted $80m plus in non-shared revenue is one thing, but it was the immediate influx of those revenues upon his hire that endeared him to Mr. Wilson. Remember entering The Ralph after the renovations in '98? All that new ad signage from all those new sponsors was not a coincidence nor was the record number of sales of private suites and club seating at the time. He brought non-shared revenue generation into the 21st century for the club in an economically challenged market and it's no surprise he put himself on an upward track in the organization as a result. It's one thing to sell tickets in "the region", quite another to expand the region altogether, especially in the form of corporate sponsorship. I'd be surprised if the Pegulas, especially with the advent of their 'One Buffalo' campaign, wouldn't seek to leverage Brandon's success in that area. GO BILLS!!!
  18. You wouldn't be disappointed. Buddy would insist on using whatever money you were gonna pay for another round, too. GO BILLS!!!
  19. His persona just may go out and light up the All Star game. While everyone else is enjoying the Sunday afternoon skate around the pond, Zemgus just may go out and play his ass off because he doesn't know any other way. I'd love it if he went balls to the wall and won the MVP. GO SABRES!!!
  20. You mean it wasn't obvious? I'm slippin'. GO SABRES!!!
  21. Well deserved by both players. Nice to see them get this kind of recognition. I'm not seeing the gloom, I guess. While I would have given Marrone a third year, it's not like we lost Bill Walsh. Marrone doesn't strike me as a football savant and if we keep our defense intact, I don't think we'll miss a beat moving forward. I look for Whaley to swing for the fences on his coaching hire, too. GO BILLS!!!
  22. Yep. Eichel is gonna fall off a cliff in the upcoming draft. Why, we might even be able to trade down and STILL get him. Tough game for the US. Hard to establish a rhythm, especially early on, when playing short handed so much of the time. I thought we dominated play 5 on 5 but just couldn't capitalize. Oh well, hoping Samson continues to show he's the best player out there in this tourney. GO SABRES!!!
  23. Buddy always talked about that "10-15 year guy" even going back to his days with Butler and the boys. And he would have taken Cam Newton and he realized we were in a dire situation at the position as well. But it was a consensus pick all the way. I give Whaley a TON of credit for doing the totally UN Buddy thing of trading down and parlaying that #8 pick into their highest rated QB and Kiko Alonso. If Buddy were in the Kirk chair, I seriously doubt he trades down. All GMs swing and miss. All of them. But not all of them swing for the fences. I'm glad Whaley has the courage of his conviction in that regard. On a final note, I'll just say that if Pegs really had any previous chats with Cowher, then any concerns he had of Whaley moving forward were erased. GO BILLS!!!
  24. Burning way too much energy killing penalties.
  25. Manuel was a consensus pick, as most are. Nobody has pounded a table for a pick since Jauron demanded Maybin. But if you're asking who was in the Kirk chair for that draft, it was Whaley. He had assumed Nix's responsibilities at the start of the 2012 season for the most part and was defacto GM well before he was officially named after the 2013 draft. This is Manuel's make or break season, he either makes the job his or he doesn't. Year three has always been the "show me" year for NFL draft selections that haven't previously. Too early to just dismiss him at this point and I'd be surprised if they did. I agree with Ink. Watkins was rated the best offensive player in the draft by a wide margin and I'll wager he ends up having the best career of them all by the time it's done. And I say that knowing he doesn't have a great QB to get him the ball as I type this. He's rare player and has been since he entered college where he had an unprecedented career. GO BILLS!!!
