I've seen several comparisons between Eichel and other rookies being made since the season began and I understand why. But other than the comparisons to McDavid, I don't recall any other rookie centers in the discussion. Given the vast difference in what a 2nd line center is asked to do on a given night, I just don't think the comparisons are valid. GO SABRES!!!

I tend to agree with PA's take on refs as well. They must be above the fray. That said, I am wondering if more context is required. I don't think this ref came to a sudden moment with Neel. I suspect there is a history there, perhaps even earlier in that game, too. I also suspect Neel has been the subject of discussion among refs as well. It is a small, tight-knit community after all. It wasn't hard to reach that conclusion based on how you presented that post, thus why I questioned the timing. Thanks for the clarification. I am not saying you are connecting Pegula to anything. Only that one poster here has suggested that Benson was involved in a coverup protecting a pedophile and that he is being investigated as a result. All the while never once offering one shred of evidence to suggest that was the case. Ghost has offered several such scenarios over the years, including the suggestion that Hodgson's father hired indigenous Canadians to have someone whacked. Tin foil stuff.
