Agree entirely. Canada is our greatest ally and has been for a long, long time. More Canadians volunteered to serve in our armed forces during the Viet Nam war than there were Americans who fled to Canada to avoid the conflict. It is beyond sickening to see Canada disrespected like this.

It should hurt. And then it should outrage us to the point that we refuse to take it anymore and remove them from office. But the complacency in this country is off the charts so I hold little hope that we will muster the courage before it’s too late. ‘And Then They Came for Me’ should be mandatory reading.

While every HOF QB was not projected to be a future HOFer upon entry into pro football, others were certainly blue chip prospects predicted to have successful careers. Josh Allen was considered a blue chip prospect upon entry into the league and this was confirmed to me by three NFL GMs and several scouts that I’ve known over the years. Indeed, some even had him as a high first round pick had he come out a year earlier. His success is not a surprise to anyone connected to the game except those pundits and talking heads who created a false narrative about him in order to generate clicks. And it still rankles me to this day that so many fans ate it up like they did. For what it’s worth, which ain’t much, I was never concerned about his physical gifts. The only concern I ever had was his sheer inexperience as a QB throughput his career, from pop warner to HS to junior college to Wyoming. When it was confirmed to me that he aced his Senior Bowl sessions with the coaches and how much he impressed Dabol et al at the combine interviews, I was convinced he possessed the necessary mental abilities as well. The only remaining question for me was his heart and he showed that to me against the Chargers in his first start as a pro on a play that he actually threw an interception on. He was rolling to his right waiting for a receiver to uncover in the endzone, while dragging Melvin Ingram who was hanging on to him, and he let it rip. Ill-advised? Yes. A learning moment? Definitely. But that kind of heart is a rare trait and I was sold then and there.

Key difference being that today it isn’t fear of foreign left wing ideologies like it was 100 years ago nor is it a fear of an imaginary extreme. Instead, this is far right fascist ideology being implemented in very real ways in real time right here by those sworn to protect and defend our Constitution. And it is a clear and present danger to all of us, whether we admit it or not. Whether we bury our heads in the sand or not. Fighting against it is our duty and it’s a cause worth dying for.

Wasting your time asking where they are because they are here and all too happy to allow it. It comforts them to know that their maga constituents are too ignorant of history and too bereft of truthful news outlets to give a crap themselves.

GDT: Carolina Hurricanes @ Buffalo Sabres 7pm Tues 4/8 ESPN+K-9 replied to Shoot da Puck's topic in The Aud Club Not to mention the good face-off win by McCloud to get Byram the puck. I think that was a set play executed to perfection.

Said that the moment he was brought up, so I resigned myself to just seeing how he is in other aspects and he has impressed. Particularly in terms of his hockey sense/awareness on the ice, which is critically important for a center especially. He already has a solid 200 foot game from what I’ve seen. The heater he was on with the Amerks was certainly no fluke, that’s for sure.

Finally got around to starting The Kite Runner and 100 Years of Solitude.

Second time this season Levi and the Amerks answered a shutout the previous night with a shutout of their own. I thInk they also did it against the Checkers earlier in the season.

Not sure this is about the Östlund call-up or not, but if it is, then as opposed to playing with less skilled players. It’s about putting him in the best position possible to showcase his playmaking skills with more highly skilled players than Lafferty and Malenstyn. It’s great that he can show his defensive game which he’s also good at, but it would be nice to see linemates who can actually take advantage of his playmaking. They should have done that with Rosen as well.
-
Like I said, giving him a taste in the show is fine, but saddling him with Lafferty and Malenstyn is hardly any reward.

Daughter time trumps Sabres time. Sabres might lose 10-0 and then they’re on to their next game, but you and your kid will always have this experience together.
-
Welp. This team is so damned predictable.
-
Because that’s what they tend to do with skilled call-ups from the A. Rosen is the latest example.
-
Well worth the risk imo. I agree, but they made sure to staple Rosen to the 4th line in his recent call up.
-
I don’t disagree. But because it doesn’t matter for the Sabres, that’s why they should pair him with better skill. By all means, give him the taste, but at least make it flavorful for him.
-
Another Amerks player on a heater in the A called up to play limited 4th line minutes with no comparable skill on his line. It’s nice to get a look, but unless he’s paired with better players, it’s a waste of time imo.

WNY saw a 14% decline in Canadian crossings in February and officials here are worried about what the data will show for March. It is estimated that a 10% loss in Canadian tourism could coats $2.1b in revenues and upward of 14,000 jobs. I think it’s gonna be much more than a 10% as the numbers roll in month to month.

Disgusting. Elections are a farce in his country and not because of the bull$hit, non-existent mass “voter fraud” that the GOP insists always occurs when they lose (funny how it’s never when they win). Instead, elections are a farce because they are blatantly bought by the very rich who expect favors in return. And Citizens United open the floodgates for all sorts of dark money to be funneled to elections from foreign entities, with Russia being the worst. The principle of “one person, one vote”, the cornerstone of our representative democracy, has been rendered meaningless. But to actually purchase votes for a million dollars from individual voters raises it to a whole new level corruption.
