  1. I’m well aware you live in Texas and that you know better than anybody just what kind of evil you’re dealing with when it comes to Abbott, Cruz, and that entire Texas tyranny. I was merely saying that the word “irrational” didn’t suffice when describing what kind of hope you’d need to think they’d do a damn thing to try to fix this uniquely American issue.
  2. Per the bold, it’s estimated that there are 120.5 guns per 100 people in the US. In Canada it’s 34.7 guns per 100 people. I’d say we have good reason to think there’s a reasonable chance to be threatened by a gun here.
  3. Irrational hope? More like all out crazy hope. Abbott and Co. are advocating arming teachers as the solution. Any thought of them doing anything constructive about the problem is nuts. This is a state where it’s legal to open carry an assault rifle. And you don’t even NEED a license to do it. Gotta love Texas. Make it hard for people to participate in democracy, make it easy to carry killing machines.
  4. The Australian NFA has been a success. Creative solutions are out there. We just need the political will to implement them.
  5. I don’t know Ink, I suspect those Monday night skivvies are full of bad mojo…among other things.
  6. What’s the underwear color of choice tonight? A bold chartreuse perhaps?
  7. Bottom of the ninth, do or die, there’s no tomorrow, win or go home, fat lady is starting to hum.
  8. This uniquely American problem will not be dealt with in any meaningful way until we stop electing politicians who refuse to do anything about it. As Scalia opined in Heller and as others have since it was written, the 2nd Amendment is not an unlimited right. Regardless of the bastardized interpretations otherwise. All semi-automatic assault rifles, high volume clips, and body armor need to be banned. Anyone seeking to purchase a firearm must pass a rigorous background check, regardless how long it takes to conduct. All firearms must be registered and licensed in the state it was purchased. And like driver’s licenses, if you move to another state, you must then register that firearm in your new state of residence. Also like cars, all guns must carry mandatory insurance policy minimums. A minimum age limit should be imposed. Anyone purchasing a gun must enroll in a mandatory training and safety course to be eligible for a license to be issued. Licenses should have term limits and be renewed periodically again, just as we with a license to drive. And before any flag waving, pocket Constitution carrying gun nut wishes to set me straight, please know I’m not interested in any of your late night theoretical college dorm discussions on the “intent” of the Founders. I simply don’t care and don’t give a flying ***** about discussing the issue any further. Enough talk.
  9. Admittedly, I have not been watching. But still, …
  10. It’s 1-0. Relax.
  11. Amerks split the season series 4-4 if that means anything. But beating the best team in the conference certainly serves notice to Laval that the Amerks are for real.
  12. I’d rather see Houser than either Dell or UPL.
  13. Jankowski was jacked! “Let’s F ing go! F these guys!” 😂
  14. The use of a coma before “too” is completely a matter of choice; there is no right or wrong way grammatically speaking, but I can see where others would choose not to use the comma there. Just a matter of habit with me. The other two commas in my sentence make perfect grammatical sense as they serve to emphasize my thought. Just wait until I start stringing colons and semi-colons together. Your head will explode, grammar cop.
  15. I don’t see Scheifele being a fit with Trotz. Then again, if Ovie could adapt, perhaps he can, too.
  16. Enjoyed listening to Appert’s post practice presser today. Among other things, he mentioned that Quinn, JJ, and Krebs have responded well to the physical challenges of Utica. Peterka led the team with 11 hits on Sunday, followed by Quinn with nine. That was nice to hear.
  17. Well he was certainly part of that, imo.
  18. Well, you know what they say if you’re not part of the solution… Anyway, I was busting your chops a bit knowing your staunch defensive position on Eichel since the saga began last year. Now that we know what pick we are getting from Vegas in the draft, I’ve closed the book on Eichel. He is persona non grata forever after.
  19. And what did all those players have in common? That’s right; they all played with Eichel and they all wanted out. Just kidding, John. Kinda.
  20. Those two factors seem like the same thing to me.
  21. You? Nervous? I don’t believe that for a second. 😄 Hang tough, PastaJoe. You got this. I like our chances on Tuesday.
  22. Bullets went toward the nut job yesterday and bounced right off; didn’t slow him down in the least.
