  1. Would Hutton pull an Al Smith? Would he be able to find JBOT to “wave” goodbye?
  2. What do you think? They are in the business of promoting their show and something that resonates with their preferred demographic is taken down?
  3. Like someone before me said, we don’t need an “expierienced” guy, we need the “right” guy.
  4. I kicked that around but by all accounts Stevie Y sees himself in Larkin, a true leader who will one day lead them back to glory. What might have been had TM been able to convince KH that second round picks were as valuable as some posters here think they are.
  5. JBOT is on record as saying he’s looking for more speed in his top 6, don’t think he’s looking this way.
  6. Maybe some day they will get to the point where offer sheets are used. Some team or teams are going to get the jump in the rest of the league when they decide to be Trail Blazers. Imagine how different things would be around here if Sebastian Aho was the 2C.
  7. I think you verified my point. 15years and Butler, Hejda and Foligno? And I like Marcus!
  8. Because they are throw always. They give a portion of the fan base a reason to believe there’s more coming down the road.
  9. I just read something talking about Toronto fan’s trade proposals that basically said, “if you have to add a 4th round pick to your proposal it probably means your proposal isn’t good enough. No one cares about 4th round picks.
  10. I don’t necessarily agree, or disagree with either of you with regards to any of the prospects but while I do believe that you can project most prospects via numbers, some guys game don’t necessarily translate well and a lot of the numbers are dramatically impacted by teammates at levels below the NHL. The one thing I find most puzzling is how ten people can watch a prospect and report with such disparity an important trait such as skating. Casey is a prime example. He was reputed to be this great skater by some respected analysis when in fact he is a little above average. In his case it seems people have a hard time differentiating speed and quickness. It will be interesting to see how Samuelsson looks once he’s on the ice with professionals.
  11. There seems to be a lot of interesting math and a generous interpretation of just what a “regular” is going on here.
  12. TMZ reporting he was on helicopter that just crashed
  13. And how many teams have guys in pipeline ready to replace their top two, early twenty players? The lack of depth in the pipeline is a function of the age of their stars.
  14. 1) meant UFA’s 2) He will or he will be gone and Cozen’s is light years ahead of Casey. My point is that when you have a young, talented locked up top 4-6, you don’t need this abundance of forward depth. You need 1, maybe 2 guys per year. I’ve said it before, this team is a 2C and a 1G away from making most of the narrative mute.
  15. Again, this is just a ridiculous premise. First, they are going to sign an RFA or two. Second, they will acquire a second line center and then with Cozens as the right winger you will have two top lines basically locked up for five years. Third, you will have more then enough forwards to fill the bottom six, quite adequately with guys like Johansson, Asplund and the such. Fourth and finally, with a relatively young, set defensive core you have at least three years to fill the forward ranks and all you have to do is hit on one every year and you won’t need to worry about the top six for ten years. And that doesn’t even take into account Casey whom everyone tells me is still so massively talented.
  16. The only was it happens if either he moves the number one pick without protection (remote chance) or he stumbles upon another Briere
  17. When the guy, or girl, yells “Neutral” at delta sonic
  18. This is all true but playing half his games in a state that has no state taxes will still lower his tax bill relative to the rest of the league.
  19. I know who State Farm wants
  20. Problem with this speculation is that Dubas and everyone else could have acquired Miller for a lot less then Kapanen before Buffalo acquired him. Maybe his private numbers don’t match the public numbers always associated with Miller.
  21. I love Boudreau because of what he isn’t but the fact is he hasn’t translated his regular season success Into the postseason. For the record, I was wrong to think that you were the only one that thought he was defensive. I do, however, believe that article was written because it was different then what people associated with him.
  22. Not this year. 150 goals against and a -15 differential is among worst in the league. His theory, no matter how painted, is possessing the puck is the best defense which has been the reason for two dismissals with another one pending.
  23. Except that if TM was here they would have a true 2C and a starting goalie and according to your other thread they would be playoff contenders and trending up which is also how I see it so we kinda agree except you think what TM did was gut the team and I see it as he was moving JAG’s until he found the right pieces.
  24. OK, we keep having posters striving to be the first ever. I would wager $100 that no one has ever said a Bruce Boudreau team was defensive minded before this post.
