  1. This seems to be JBOT’s new excuse even though he is largely responsible for it. Also, as per usual fans sometimes don’t put things in proper perspective. Half the league has $1M or less in cap space. This is not a Buffalo Sabre problem. You need to be creative, think outside the box and be proactive.
  2. They might fall below 8,000 season ticket holders if they don’t do something substantial by August, 2020.
  3. You can count me behind you with regard to GMTM.
  4. This is actually the time for JBOT to put up or shut up. He needs to find the next Briere. A player that the other team has soured on while also part of the playoff push. Screw draft picks, find that prospect that can be 2C or 1G or both.
  5. I’m pretty sure Skinner was always talked about as well because it was an open secret that he only would approve Toronto, Pittsburgh or Buffalo and the other two couldn’t afford him. The timing came out of nowhere..., and
  6. So, two teams going nowhere are going to swap assets on the final year of crazy contracts that neither can afford.
  7. If Ford’s block is a penalty why wasn’t Duke Johnson’s block on Edmunds on the first two point conversion
  8. That could actually be a fairly low rental price depending on type of prospect. Second round picks and low tier prospects are likely players we will never see
  9. I’m one hundred percent sure his issues are mental, not just confidence but commitment to the game. A lot of guys think they are giving their all when they really are not. I’ve made no secret of the fact that I don’t believe being in AHL really helps development but one thing that can’t be argued. It can be a shock when that first paycheck comes. Sometimes that’s all a guy needs to kick start him. Unfortunately, you never know if it’s a temporary or permanent thing. Its been said ad nauseum, he’s still young enough to give us hope and there is no doubt that him becoming a legitimate number two center would be huge.
  10. This is going down as one of the most mis-understood calls in the history of the NFL. The original call was actually going to be illegal forward pass resulting in a safety. Even McDermott referred to it incorrectly. The audio is pretty clear Corrente tells the alternate ref “I have an illegal forward pass”
  11. There’s that This is the bottom line. No matter TP’s involvement, GM has to either stand up to him or make better deal.
  12. You are all making some very good, insightful arguments but the point I was trying to make is that none of it would be even in conversation if they had an all-star number two center and a true number one, elite goaltender.
  13. Maybe stink was harsh but so far, and it’s early, there’s only 3 difference makers. Guys like a Thomas, Suzuki, Branstrom not doing much more then Casey yet,
  14. Draft analysis in 2018 rating draft results up to 2017 had Buffalo 11th. You can’t blame them for missing on picks if there wasn’t anyone to pick. Casey is a perfect example, whether he hits or not, they had no other reasonable choice, that draft year just stunk.
  15. The amount of people that would have to be involved to fix NFL games and keep it quiet is mind boggling. Call me when you have someone whipping to talk.
  16. I understand the thought. I just think the game has too many rules and has become too fast to officiate. It will be interesting to see how gambling effects everything because the whole premise of legalized gambling has to be based on fair and impartial and I think there could just be a slew of class action suits based on referees decisions. There’s a question for our legal folk. If that kickoff happens in overtime and would have definitively effected the outcome, would a referee be allowed to make a “common sense” determination outside the rule book? If I had $50K on it I’d sue just for the ability to see the league prove that there is something in its rule book that says what the runner did was “giving himself up.”
  17. I’d have to go back and look but I remember him loading up on points early season before they started conference play but I’m not sure. i just checked, it was the opposite, he picked up 7 points in last hour games, all losses to Penn State coincidentally.
  18. Pure incompetence. I think that as the team has gotten better we have seen and will continue to see how clearly incompetent the officiating is. There were at least four plays that they missed that would have allowed Buffalo to win. I’m guessing if I was a Houston fan I would say the same thing. Even the great Patriots are calling out officials now that they can’t overcome the mistakes. And that’s what the great teams do. They execute enough to not only best their opponents but also overcome the officials incompetence. It’s unfortunate, but fact. Quite frankly, if I believed otherwise I’d stop watching.
  19. I would like someone who believes there was a rift between ROR and Jack to explain why they had dinner along with Sam when St. Louis came to town?
  20. And wasn’t very good. With questions about his level of commitment swirling in the background you have to wonder how closely the team monitored him while he was in College. It’s all moot now, the question is only whether he will ever get it. The odds say no, but history shows a lot of examples of guys that did.
  21. The point is; I believe that none of the other stuff matters if they have a legitimate number two center and quality goaltending. I thought I made myself clear, but sorry if I didn’t. It doesn’t matter if it’s hockey or football, baseball or basketball, my belief, opinion, whatever you want to call it, is that because there is no perfect way, a lot of it depends on luck.
