And how is there no penalty for Dez Bryant running on the field with no helmet on to argue the call?
-
I can't see how anyone doesn't thing that at worst, Myers is a number 3/4 guy with what will be a good value contract. As such, unless you can get a top line prospect, there is absolutely no reason to move him.

Now now. Given where this team is at, with a set defense and DC in place and some of the offensive pieces in place as well, I think bringing in an established head coach like Shanahan may be the way to go. There is just too much of an unknown when bringing an assistant in and the team is not in a place where we should want anyone learning on the job. I would love for one of the hot, innovative college coaches but even they are an unknown. With Shanahan, I feel like they can take a couple more steps in the process and then see if he has what it takes to finish the job.

As per usual we are just going in circles and I'm not even sure you understand the initial point. I'm busy and I'm done but I will counter your first statement. First, I never said people don't develop as they mature. However, I will stick to my original point, and by the way, for the record, I am 54. I firmly believe that people don't change, only their circumstances do. Have a good day.

Your ability not to follow the conversation can be infuriating at times. But since you asked, people don't develop personalities as they succeed. It's their personalities that allow them to succeed. Naturally, people make allowances for the ones that already succeed and dismiss the others until they succeed. Those that end up succeeding are geniuses, those that don't are ######. But none of this has anything to do with my initial post which you were unable to follow along with which was that Marrone's personality did not make him a bad hire.
-
I was not saying it was provable either way. I was merely countering a point which was that Brandon should be fired for hiring a narcissistic bully. Let's leave Brady out of it, they are all that to some degree and its why despite all of his personality flaws they still would of rather had him back. Polian was as big a bully as they come, wanted to fire anyone who spoke Ill of him and wanted to bring in AJ Smith whose firing provoked major media celebrations in San Diego. It is what fuels these guys. In my opinion, the ones that succeed are the ones who can admit their mistakes and move on without losing their edge. And yes, I know there are exceptions, which only validate the rule.
-
I really don't want to be into an unprovable theory. My only point is that several successful coaches proudly wear the narcissistic bully badge
-
That's a kind description of Belichek. If Marrone had Brady he would be a detail oriented genius.

To be fair to Hamilton that link looks like he thought Hodhson was going to be named captain, not that he thought he should be
-
First, coming out of juniors Hodgson was considered a leader on par with Trevor Linden Second, I never heard Hamilton say Hodgson but he was 100% certain Nolan was going to name Stafford captain
-
The 49'ers also denied Washington permission to talk to ther DC. Wade Phillips now interviewing
-
Interviews requested wth Pep Hamilton, Mike Shanahan and Hue Jackson
-
OK, that was great.

You have to give them credit for one thing, they gave up a 2nd and a guy who just got put on waivers( don't wantbto spell his name) to get the guy and turned it into a first in 2015. Isn't this whatever want from TM?

Good news, I hear Russ is a huge Hundley fan.

I'm not falling for anything. I am a results guy he has gotten the results. While I will let you decide what to believe or not believe as far as his role in the sale, what is indisputable is that his efforts made the team much more attractive to TP.
-
Yeah cause why would you want to keep the guy who put the team on solid financial footing, helped orchestrate the sale of the team that kept the Bills in Buffalo and helped reorganize the football department to stick around?
-
I agree completely but I think it's the new reality that these franchises are run like large corporations and some of the decisions involve millions of dollars. I've interviewed for positions worth a lot less then seven figures that the President of the company sat in on. Like you said, I don't want Brandon or even Pegula deciding who the QB will be or whether to go for it on fourth and one but to believe they won't be part of the decision on who they will hire for the second or third most important person in the organization is naïve.
-
The CEO/ owners and the President are sitting in on the interviews for the organizations biggest hire, is that really unusual?
-
I agree and I'm not just saying that because I need to improve my percentage of approvals
-
Some can be sure because they read it on the internet and all the experts said it.
-
The argument is that they all make mistakes or they aren't trying. He's been the GM two years and in my opinion the organization is better for it. Your biggest problem is that you continue to state your opinion as fact. While the prevailing opinion was that EJ wasn't a first round talent, there were those that thought it was a risky but good pick. It's not like he picked him over Luck or Newton. As you said, he has proven he's not afraid to take risks. I think he has earned the right to finish the job and I'm glad that for now he is staying.
-
Again, make me a list of those available GM's that went out and unearthed a QB that no one else knew was a slam dunk. Even Seatle waited till the third round on Wilson and only after throwing huge money at Matt Flynn. If making a mistake on picking a QB was a fire able offense, the whole league would be looking to replace their talent evaluators! As for Polian, what the hell was he expecting the job to be. If you believe all the reports, he didn't want to hire a coach, deal with dysfunction in the organization and be paid like a consultant. Apparently he wanted President money to put his stamp of approval on everything.

Just noticed that Nick Foligno signed a nice extension. Good gor him.
