I agree with this sentiment and regret that sometimes I have been caught up in the bickering.

1) This year, I declared the drunk irishone the winner but he couldn't use the tickets. 2) Last year, the winner was dudacek. If I remember correctly he gave his tickets to a brother in law or that may have been a previous year winner. Quite frankly, I don't remember the other winners but if you care I'm sure you could find the threads in the archives. I have no problem with your questioning the validity of the contest but I'm sure others can attest to the fact that I have always gone out of my way to accommodate past winners.

With training camp less then 3 weeks away, I thought it was time to give this thread a little boost.

I do. I was one of those that left early. Just got to my car when I heard the roar.

This was actually mentioned in the Bylsma thread.

Torrie is/was head amateur scout. Devine is actually director of player personnel.

Sounds like Head Scout Torrie also let go

Sorry LGR4GM but this is one of my pet peeves. Ticket prices have nothing to do with other revenue or expenses. It is all supply and demand. If all the players agreed to play for free ticket prices would still be the same as long as the public paid the price.

What I see when I read this is that Buffalo hasn't really missed on anyone other then Russel Wilson in the last five years. Are we really going to blame them for passing in a bunch of stiffs? There is just a real shortage of viable QB's.

I remember JP Losman in what I think was his first pre-season game against Denver and Shanahan was mic'ed up. Losman threw a frozen rope right in front of him thoroughly impressing Shanahan. All the tools and not much else. I will have to watch Wilson more this season. I just can't remember too many passes from the pocket and especially outs but then again he doesn't need to throw much does he? Cue the "he should have thrown one less time......"

I'm still not sure that he makes defense respect the sideline out pattern that the typical NFL quarterback has always been measured by. I acknowledge that I haven't spent any time watching film, so correct me if I am wrong. No doubt that Wilson has evolved, hopefully Taylor can translate in game experience to do the same.

While I agree with you in theory, I'm not sure Russell Wilson operates out of the pocket om a consistent basis. Not saying that Taylor is anything close to Wilson but I think there are always exceptions to the rule.

The story of why he bailed keeps getting tweaked so I'm not sure "death in the family" is still the excuse. Either way, you are right, Geno did say he would pay him back.

I'm not arguing any of this. Others tried to imply that this catering gig or even the cancelled party was vital to him and that's just ridiculous. Do you realize how much this guy has going on? I have a tenth of that going on and have found out only afterwards when certain "celebrities" did business with one of my companies. That being said, I acknowledge that he might have known but that the notion that the party was a reason to come to his defense is laughable.

I'm no big fan of Croce but to say that his catering a party equates to him having "skin" in the game is ridiculous. I would be surprised if he even knew that one of his places was doing the catering unless he was invited to the party. He surely doesn't wake up in the morning thinking his financial well being hinges on his profit from one catering gig.

I am not interested into getting into the whole discussion on semantics and censoring the masses but I do want to relate a purely anecdotal story for what it is worth. I was on grand jury duty awhile back for about a month. We heard evidence in about 100 cases, about 65 of them drug cases (Wednesday was drug case day), several of them cases of the mundane variety and about 10 sexual abuse cases. Six of those cases were disgusting cases involving children but 4 were sexual abuse case involving adults. As luck would have it, I was chosen the foreman, so part of my responsibility was to go before the judge when we decided to indict. I will tell you that in all 4 of those cases it was the female jurors that were the hardest to convince that a rape had occurred. While waiting to go before the Judge, I had a conversation with Judge Penny Wolfgang, who happened to be the in the courtroom and we talked about this. She wasn't surprised at all and told me that she found that to be true as well. Now I never researched this, have no other data to back it up, just presenting it as my experience.
