No, garbage time is piling up points and yards when you have no chance to win. The Bills got the ball back with plenty of time to score and conceivably tie it up. The Patriots continued to throw and twice went for it on fourth down. There is really no way of knowing if the Patriots defense lost its focus but I saw little evidence of a coaching adjustment similar to how Buffalo pulled back the reigns against the Colts. The defense was obviously ineffective most of the day against Brady but he was just in one of those zones that very few can duplicate. He makes it look so easy that it can be maddening but first deciding where to throw and then hitting those throws with such precision that his receivers can turn up field and doing it all in under 2 seconds is something they may never face again. On top of that there were at least three calls that could have turned the tide early that went against them. Not saying it cost them the game but to think the game wouldn't have been different without them is in my opinion incorrect. On a side note, I laughed out loud when the announce expressed surprise that the Patriots continued to throw and used the cliche "I'm surprised the Patriots haven't taken the air out of the football and just stopped throwing."

I'd say they have made great progress if getting completely outclassed by the defending Super Bowl Champs means losing by 8.

Never saw Terminator, never saw any of the Star Wars pics or any of the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings movies. However, for over twenty years I have been looking for the kid that was playing with his truck on the back of my seat on my way back from Jamaica.

I'm not sure if it's the game plan as much as its Brady's ability to read defenses coupled with his remarkable accuracy. He makes it look easy but it obviously isn't. One if the first quotes ever attributed to Belichek when announcing that Brady would continue to start when Bledsoe returned was how fast he processed the information before him.

Ok, I glanced over that part.

I couldn't have said it better. This is exactly how I felt after game.

Have you heard Weber talk this year? The players are thrilled where this team is at. On top of that, Eichel has gone out of his way to say and do the right things. No resentment here. It's a non issue

Fan excitement not reflected in secondary market

I sold some pre-season club seats for $60 and have agreed to sell about 4 games worth of club and 100 level preferred for over face value so I am pretty happy with where the market is right now. -
Tuna didn't win without BB but BB still hasn't won without cheating.

As I prepare to hide in my bunker, I will say that Pysyk is right now, the best passer on the team and easily the best passing defenseman. I have had conversations with people whose hockey smarts I revere who have dropped names like Teppo and yes, here it comes, Duncan Keith. Now nobody is predicting that he will even approach these players but they believe that it is his realistic ceiling. Pysyk is one of those guys whose stats will be greatly improved by the quality of players around him. A guy who looks like just another guy at the AHL level or as part of the worst team in hockey. He will be a guy that goes unnoticed for 90% of the play until he rifles a tape to tape cross ice pass that springs one of the teams many skilled forwards that can now turn those passes into scoring chances. He is a player who at the end of the year you will look at the old numbers and go wow, I didn't realize he was a plus 30 and had 30 to 40 assists. And the analytics guys, they will be calling him one of the truly underrated d-man in the league. Yes, Dudacek, I think I am his biggest fan, but then again I thought that Cody was going to be a top scoring winger and that Ennis was too small. -

You are right, I was high in Butler but I don't recall ever seeing him as a top pairing guy. I think depending on the other d-men, Pysyk is a solid 2/3 guy with a long career ahead of him.By the way, you could throw in a few examples of me correctly showing love for certain prospects. -
That is the most mis-represented piece of Belichek history ever. The Bills shredded that defense. The problem was two fold, Levy wouldn't force Kelly to keep pounding Thomas and the defense couldn't make a tackle to save their lives. If either of those things happened, cheating Bill would have been forced to explain his defensive strategy that had his defensive lineman sucking air as Thurman ran through them like a warm knife through butter.

100% agree and I think they do too

Oh no! We may not be hearing from Eleven for awhile!!!!! http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/eleven-arrested-for-growing-pot-at-ontario-greenhouse-20150904

He has been on the job three years and while this year has to play out nobody can tell me that this year's roster is not considerably better then last years and galaxies ahead of three years ago.

I'm no attorney but I think they have to walk a fine line with these settlements as it is illegal to pay someone not to press charges or testify but if the victim refuses to testify, how can the case proceed? I heard former DA Frank Clark talking about this. No DA wants to be put in a position of prosecuting a victim for refusing to testify but he implied that theoretically it was possible

And the rest of the dance is the employee blaming the boss. It's the circle of life.

I had a brief exchange with Wawrow about this as well. Being old school, I find it totally inappropriate especially the exchanges that happen as the night grows long and it seems that alcohol becomes a big part of the evening. On the other hand, I realize my opinion means little in the twitter world. I can't believe all the over reaction to the Whaley lied narrative. Every superior in every industry lies, or at least misleads every subordinate at some point. It is part of the job.

I respect your point but aligning themselves with Sammy Watkins or Rex Ryan, for instance, seems to make more sense to me especially if you want to tag onto the "new era." As far as your last paragraph, I get this and I'm sure that Russ would have and probably should have been the one to break the news but the sponsor has to know going in what the chances of something like this happening, especially given the rumors of a release during the off season and given the likelihood of a 34 year old running back not making the team.

I can come up with five campaigns before 9 am that don't require using a player that likely was going to be a marginal contributor at best. And if you are going to include players in retirement I can come up with 10.
-
I agree with this but you have to get consistent. You want to blame Whaley for decisions before he was the man but not give him credit for decisions during the same time frame. While the jury is still out on his job performance, I believe he doesn't get the credit he deserves because of what happened the nine years before he became the GM. This whole thing is really funny actually. A lot of the same people who talked about Whaley like he was a neutered puppet after the Ryan hiring now want to have us believe that he is the man secure enough to go rogue.
-
If anyone should be embarrassed it's whoever decided it was a good idea to base an ad campaign on a 34 year old running who at best was going to be a short yardage back and most likely be the third string running back likely to be inactive several games.
-
Don't really think this is a big deal. Player has to blame someone and Whaley is the easy target. Jackson is a lot more shrewd when it comes to PR then he is given credit for.
