  1. Rob Johnson could make every throw. There are several experts that attribute Carr's success to his team and still not sold on him.
  2. Jury still out on Derek Carr. Schneider fell into Wilson only after giving Flynn crazy contract in free agency. If anyone should have known better it was him. Want to try again(That hammer to head is your hint) there are none. Lucking into a great QB makes the GN, not the other way around.
  3. You just don't get. Inserting a few plays and adapting your system doesn't change the fact that spread quarterbacks do not do the things in college that they will have to do in the NFL. Doesn't mean they can't do it, just means no one knows. I'm still waiting for you to list these great front offices that are able to find a QB whenever they need one.
  4. That's just plain ridiculous. You keep talking like their is some magic formula to drafting a QB and it has been proven time after time that nobody's knows and it's even more evident now with the prevalence of the spread offense on College. An NFL QB has to do a lot more then be super athletic. Know why you rarely see Tom Brady avoiding the blitzer? Because he already got rid of the ball to the open receiver. There is virtually no way to know how someone who has never made line calls, read a defense or took a snap under center is going to adjust to doing that in virtually fractions of a second.
  5. So what does that mean? What's the ceiling? Will he be a top 5 guy like Ben or mediocre like Smith?
  6. If the ceiling is Anfy Dalton, yes. TT is just as good. And if PM isn't capable of being better then Alex Smith then the Chiefs made a huge mistake.
  7. What are you talking about. You have gone on and on about him being the best prospect since Big Ben. Winning the starting job over a guy who is no better then TT isn't a franchise QB. If all he is is Andy Dalton or RGIII, then the Bils made the right choice.
  8. It's already been established that starting QB does not constitute "making it." Only way your position is justified is if he becomes a franchise a QB and Bills don't have theirs by next year. So, by 2020, he's a franchise QB, considered by his peers to be top 5, the Chiefs are AFC Super Bowl contenders and the Bills didn't find a better QB by May, 2018.
  9. I now have one ticket left until I secure other seats.
  10. So he's can't miss. How much you looking to wager on that?
  11. If every QB that Jon Gruden salivated over turned out to be a franchise QB, every team in the league would have one. As for anecdotal stories about war room conversations, word was that Philadelphia, super front office that they are, were all in on EJ Manuel. Fact is, for the millionth time, no one knows and if someone did, they would be the wealthiest man in America
  12. The point is that TT can make the playoffs. I agree they would need to improve to do more, The difference is whether they can acquire a better QB while making the playoffs and I say they can. Furthermore, there is no documented case of a team tanking in football and that process working other then when Indy tanked after Peyton's injury.
  13. Taylor made that throw against Seattle on third and long in a game that actually meant something. And do I really need to make a list of the QB's that have made the playoffs in the last couple of years that TT is better then?
  14. Still 2 or 3 tickets available
  15. Boldin retiring
  16. For the record, I was not happy with the DB hire but think he might have been good choice to lay a foundation, however costly and unintentional. As for the Bills, I think we both agree on some things but main disagreement is how to acquire franchise QB. I'm not TT's biggest fan but I think you can win with him and I don't think that prevents you from finding your QB. In fact, if you are right about PM, then KC did exactly what I think the Bills can do.
  17. Nothing long term. Just like 10 wins and a playoff spot won't. See Mike McCoy and many others. Dick Jauron was coach of the year once, for Pete's sake.
  18. This is an important point. Mario Williams wanted a deer in his backyard, some guys come from smaller cities and want to remain that way, some want the opposite, some want to go back home, some want to be as far away as possible.
  19. Didn't say anything about holding back, however, time will tell. I wouldn't be surprised to see a step back by the offense while they get acclimated but I don't expect a huge step back and I see significant improvement by the defense. This has been an 8-8 team for three years and with a break here or there, who knows.
  20. Easy to be comfortable in pocket when you know exactly what defense is doing. One last thing a friend just pointed out to me about preseason. 2008 Detroit Lions; 4-0 in preseason 0-16 in regular season.
  21. It's meaningless except for maybe roster spots 50-53. Here is something to debate. The difference between Rob Johnson and Tom Brady is about one and a half seconds. Brady is not the most athletically gifted guy but he can decipher a defense before he gets to the line. Guys like RJ, they are still deciding as they drop back.
  22. One thing has absolutely nothing to do with another. Some guys look good playing flag football some not. Without knowing what they are asked to do you can't answer the question. As I stated previously, Frank Reich was atrocious in preseason, Gale Gilbert a star. The Super Bowl Bills as a whole were something like 3-13 in preseason. If you paid attention however many years you have followed Football I'm sure you can name twenty pre-season stars never heard from again. Preseason football is a money grab and serves no other purpose. The Bills played two games against teams renowned for winning in August. Philly blitzed 7 guys on occasion.
  23. QB's playing against preseason defenses shows us as much as if they were playing baseball. It showcases their athleticism and absolutely nothing else. If what PM is showing in preseason is all that teams need to see to evaluate QB's they would hit on 90% of their selections. It just doesn't work that way.
  24. You still insist on putting so much into preseason. Again, he may turn out to be a stud, but up to this point he has done nothing that JP Lossman didn't do. You seem like a passionate fan with some knowledge but your agendas take away from your takes. If you really were close to anyone connected at One Bills drive you'd know that Russ Brandon has nothing to do with football decisions other then being kept informed and sometimes asked for an opinion as any President of a corporation. You want to anoint PM the next great QB when history shows us that it will be three or four years before anyone knows if he's Tim Couch, RG III, Andrew Luck or Big Ben. At the same time you are ready to dismiss the Bills hires when that same history shows us the selections out of left field (see Bill Polian) have as much chance to succeed as do selections made after an exhaustive search.
  25. Ok, I will hold it till I get a fourth payment and then rip it up. I think I have a place we can both sit for that game if the need be.
