I wouldn't be surprised at all if they sign him but why would they sign him during this three day window and thus forfeit a pick? If he wants to go there he can just sign when free agency starts. Unless they know they can flip them, they have to fill out a roster first. They are targeting three years from now but they have to have 7 defenseman, 13 forwards and 2 goalies this year. McPhee drafted Grubauer so he may have a leaning toward that although he also knows if he isn't what he thought so.....,I guess I have no idea

None of these lists mean a lot unless you know the side deals. The Islanders, for example, protected 5 defenseman and one of them wasn't DeHaan. Likely reason he is part of trade to Vegas. Don't be surprised if they then flip him..

I like Larsson a lot but agree his skating is an issue but I think people under estimate Foligno's skating ability. Bailed and Baptistery at e definitely faster and may be better fits but Foligno is definitely faster then Hudson although his style isn't as smooth.

In this specific case, George McPhee is Moulson's wife's godfather so I don't think there will be any secrets. In general, I'm not sure how trades will be handled but I'm sure all players exposed will get some explanation as to the organization's thinking.

You really think the players don't know what's going on?

My guess is that the trade would be worded as buffalo trades X in return for Vegas picking Y rather then "not" picking Z. But that's just a guess.
