Three or four of the second rounders from that draft will be anything more then a JAG and likely only one will be a top 4 forward or a top 3 defender. I am not dismissing the value of depth and I don’t want to over simplify but it’s those top 8(4F, 3D, 1G) that drive the bus. The teams that contend are the ones that time it right with the top 8 joined by 3 or 4 ready to take over and 1 or 2 surprises. No matter how refined and detailed, numbers can only project and there is nothing I’ve seen yet that makes scouting an exact science. It’s educated guessing mixed in with a ton of luck.

Only if you believe scouting is an exact science. It was a crappy draft, it’s why TM truedbti trade all three picks to grab Larkin. His stated draft philosophy was to swing for the fences after the first round. A second round pick in the NHL is akin to a 6th or 7th in the NFL. The only bad misses occur in first round. After that it’s slmist all luck.

Montout’s the only guy that might be a difference maker. That draft will end up being amongst the worst ever.

Check the rest of that draft. There have been almost no NHL production from the entire second round. On top of that, TM took over mid year and was forced to use whatever scouting department was left.

I have six of the tickets for this game, eleven should be getting his two and I have two more coming that I traded for so tickets should be distributed within a week. if I remember correctly, I believe nine tickets are paid for with one more still pending. Just a quick re-cap, we now have four people paid, two(myself and eleven) that will have their own tickets, and three more verbally committed for a total of nine(one person dropped out after last update due to other commitment. if anyone else is interested, try and let us no by Friday although like eleven previously stated, we will probably grab a couple of extras.

What history shows is that while there are trends and guides as to what makes a great NFL quarterback, nobody has an ironclad formula. I have no problem with well thought out analysis explaining someone’s view point. It’s the absolutes that are laughable.

So as of now, I have ten people interested with three already paid for. The ten are guaranteed a ticket. For anybody else interested, we’ll do the best we can.
