Who cares where the money comes from? It’s every bit as real. Our whole country is an economic basket case right now. I would think that being decoupled from the US economy should be viewed as a positive thing.

I don’t get the false equivalency thing when it comes to an amorphous group of idiots doing things and a government backed group of idiots doing the very hateful things they campaigned on. This was the campaign of dehumanization. Trump and his supporters dehumanized some group every time there was a rally. And with that, I’m gone.

Only, it's the complete opposite. Whatever has happened before, I believe that Trump is a fascist and that the Constitution is currently under the greatest threat it has been under since at least post WWII McCarthyism and maybe even since the Civil War. You are obviously fine with all of the power being consolidated into the executive branch, I am not.

He is already doing that. There are unmarked ICE vans all around Columbia university. They don't care if you are here legally. They don't care if you are a scientist. They don't care if you have proper documentation. They haul them away, detain them and say they will work it out later. Unlike the Nazis in those old war movies, these guys don't even ask to see your papers.
