Yes, blame the people who are concerned for their loved ones. Definitely don't blame the complete lack of leadership or reliable information sources. Definitely don't blame the fact that actual news has been nearly completely replaced with entertainment punditry that ranks anywhere from inane to extremely dangerous. People are freaked out because it's very obvious that the people we look to for guidance, reassurance, and solutions in these situations are inept, cruel, untrustworthy, or all of the above. I think for those guys they're simply playing at the level we expect them to. Improvement is reserved for guys showing us something we haven't seen from them before. And Ullmark is definitely most improved. It's a good sign that there was room for him to do it, and then he did it. Hopefully he's got more room left.

There are certainly areas where I think he/his staff have underperformed. The power play needed to be this team's strength (given the roster) and that didn't happen, which certainly contributes to their position in the standings. His abuse of Colin Miller is another thing I haven't been happy with. He wont be back if Botterill is fired, since that's not really how things work. But I think he's done an okay job. Someone else could probably do just as well. Or better. Or worse. *shrug*
