Like, do an honest side-by-side comparison of Skinner and Simmonds this season. Simmonds CF% and CFrel are a little worse, but he's got essentially the same shot totals, the same shooting percentage, nearly identical goals and assists through a handful more games. And Simmonds was doing it all on a worse team playing fewer minutes per game. I'd love to see some heat maps but I bet his shots are actually coming from more dangerous areas than Jeff's too, just by virtue of how he plays the game. Obviously Skinner is a more talented player, but it's really hard to argue that he's contributing a whole lot more than Wayne Simmonds this season.

Wild that Simmonds is the best winger that line has had all season.

It's not ridiculous, but it requires some help from Toronto and Florida, ie. they need to totally collapse. The Sabres aren't going to get there on their own. Leafs play Tampa tonight, Panthers play Arizona. Wednesday could be interesting if those teams lose tonight.

So Botterill traded a 4th for Sheary and Hunwick. Buried Hunwick, then traded Sheary (and Rodrigues) back to Pitt for Kahun. So it's Rodrigues and a 4th for Kahun and Hunwick. Maybe in sum we lost lol

I can't see Simmonds playing first line minutes. I think he's good for 12 mins a game and Risto's spot on the PP.

For the record, I don't think there's any chance this team makes the playoffs. But I appreciate that they're being given the opportunity to try.

It's true though. We've been trying to figure out all season what, exactly, Botterill wanted to see from this team this year. It's been really hard to tell what is going on.

So that confirms that. Simmonds thinks the Sabres are making a push. Gonna need more than this though.
