This is basically the one reason I want to buy a house: so I can have a garage to do the wrenching on things. If I had somewhere to do the work I could have done her brakes for $100 in parts tops. They charge way too much for parts and labor at Northtown for work on what is essentially an economy car. I don't think she'd be paying what she pays if this work was getting done at Van Bortel. I think Northtown is ripping people off.

That guy does great work. His collabs are where things really take off though.

That list was short and crappy outside of one or the other Caps goalies. I don't know who else he could have possibly gotten that would be any better than Hutton at the price we got him for. I didn't want Hutton, but he was the right goalie to sign.

I've always liked Rich Gaenzler. I think this is a good move.

I really don't have a strong opinion yet, but I'm checking box 4 because I think a culture change was needed and the moves he has made appear to address that. Whether the talent will pan out depends a lot on the younger players.

Good term but maybe a little bit of an overpayment. That said, it'll look good in a few years as long as his play doesn't fall off a cliff.

Basically it works like this. We get to try him out for a year. If he plays well and wants to be here then we can sign him. If he plays well but wants to test free agency, then we trade him for better assets than what we gave up to get him at the trade deadline. The only way we don't come out ahead is if he sucks.

I think Skinner is a more creative player and maybe has the potential to be a Briere type for us. I prefer that to Kane's style, frankly.

I think we as fans regularly desire these things, or hope for a GM to follow through on threats like "there are going to be changes". But how often does that actually play out? This team is nearly completely different than it was a few months ago.

That's just bananas. Not something that happens very often in this league.
